Today I changed out the carbon in the filter. People PLEASE CHANGE YOUR CARBON. If its lab grade coconut or cheepo pet co pellets, it will not last forever and needs regular replacement.

I replace roughly 30-50% in a clip every 6-8 months. after two to three changes every 6 to 8 months of use its been completely renewed this way. and it keeps your cost down.

I've noticed that i can push 100% fresh carbon up to 12 months before the smell gets out of hand. Please be careful fucking around like this, you have to be extremely careful with smells. you become accustom to them rather quickly, and if your growin' herb and burnin' you wont even notice the odor. LEO will. or your Landlord. Or your nosey ass ripper neighbor who you never liked anyway.

it just so happens that this time around I'm 7 months from the last time I've changed out some of the carbon. and if i remember correctly, i only did a 30% change out because i was strapped for cash at the time. well a few days ago i came home after partying to a closed up house. not a window open and the smell just about knocked me off my feet when i walked in the door. The haze was blowing my cover. or was it me blowing my own cover by pushing a tired carbon mix 30% fresh - 70% used past 6 months.....

keep it green, and stay safe...

Agreed about the carbon.
Mine is starting to allow some odor through as well. I ended up removing my duct muffler and putting on my craptastick Odorsock for double scrubbing power.
It still stinks, but less than before.
Happy 420, everyone.

Braddah:

the rods are fox tails, this strain does not exhibit this trait naturally. This is most likely caused by heat in my case. this particular plant decided that it was going to take EVERY INCH of my 2 square feet and leave me no room to adjust the light higher. so the tops are defiantly getting too much heat. the stuff that is below it looks totally normal.

with that being said i think some strains show this naturally, johnny blaze? for instance if i remember correctly.....

hope that helps homie.

On to the harvest. she blew me away. check out the over all picture and the large nug shot. there were about 9 of those equal in size. that single cola was 65 ish grams wet....

The we got to trimming. and after taking the care and time to manicure each and every bud i found this pile of larf underneath. Too small to waste time on, to crystally to toss, in the hash bag with ye! all 145 grams of it. the larf weight was not added in to the total wet weight.

And now with out further delay, the total wet weights.

It has been a pleasure growing with you guys, i wish you all the same success in your micro yields..

thanks Braddah and Elemtee. the double gum has been switched and so has the bulb in the flower side. I'm running the a 400W HPS in the flower side. the change in heat was immediately noticeable. i turned down the bulb so it more like 300w now instead. go lumatek.

ill post some picture of the double gum in her new home later on. she loves the new digs, new water, fresh nutes, bigger system, more airflow and oxygenation. she should see a huge gain from being crammed into the veg cabinet.

Sorry a bit delayed reply, lol sorry don't know what happened there... Thanks for the info. Would this be considered an undesirable trait? Decreased yield?
