This looks great Krunch. Good job man.

Though, I don't claim to be any expert in fluid dynamics, but I believe in that design the path of least resistance will pull most of the air, which might cause an in-balance. I know it's a lot of extra resistance, but I believe thats why most people do it inline.
i know its not the best design, but it works fine for me...

My family has been doing HVAC for a while. We tried to stay with the local HVAC shop but the chinese do it so much cheaper and faster. What are the dimensions of the box? I'll get you a quote and if it's more than 160 per manifold my name is Mud.
old white kats, they are usually 1/2 if not more of the price of home depot, not sure why it was so much. i asked for a 8' with a caped end and 5 4" coming off of both of them

Are those ss1's with no glass? so basically your pulling heat and smell through the light and filtering through the airbox?
How well do those airboxes truly work in late flowering compared to a traditional round filter?
Is that the 3 filter model? whats the weight of the each filter and how long do they last? Thanks
yes im pulling everything through the lights.
the airboxes work really good!
3 filter model, i thing they weight about 15 lb's each, i change them every 3 months...

Looks good KB! I like the temp drop.
Homedepot sells plenum pieces for hvac that work great in this manner...different sizes and as simple as cutting your round take-offs for each hood. Works great every time.

that's fkn pricey for some sheetmetal. i used oversized duct for the plenum/manifold, cap the end, light duct shoots come out the side. all home depot stuff. best method for light cooling hands down.

i realize this! but, im the type of guy that will slice my hand wide open to the bone trying to mess with the stuff. had to go with wood in this situation......

Sheet metal is nasty stuff to work with. Galvanized steel has an oil film to help separate sheets in the stack. It also keeps to repel water between sheets when stored outside.

If you get cut, this oil makes healing take much longer.

Aluminum sheeting is too easy to dent, especially when fabricated in one location and installed in another.

Square or rectangular delivers more flow per size than round.

Those old white guys charge more cause it's hard to make a living on Chinese, sheet metalworker wages.

Leather/Metal gloves, FTW.

But really, most of my shit is made out of OSB/Plywood, Cardboard or Plastic Sheeting.
Why?
'Cause it is cheap.
If you are doing something for the first time, it is an R&D project.

Then when I have it all nailed down, I can spend the extra money on a professional version.
