Draining giant containers

Draining giant containers

Hey cyat,

Thats awesome on the black rose genetics. That looks like a crazy strain. I have these 12 gal totes lined up to do some trees. I was wondering what you do with your run off? I was thinking of making a hempies style hose out of the side for easy collection, but I dont really need the hempys style. Do you just run off onto that tray and collect it?

Good Luck and Thanks

Imax thanks bro, I'm excited to run Heaths genetics! I do two things for drainage, big tubs or pots with lots of holes on corrugated roofing tin or the plastic one, and the next run will be hempys with drains( 1/2 in) If you can plumb your tables or tub,etc to your house plumbing youll be happier. good luck

I started growing in coco about 9 months ago and soon realized that I could probably grow some damn big trees in it so I ran this one in a 20gal of pure coco(Karma's Triple Kush, a cutting) and another Chem's Sister in an 8gal.The thread title caught my eye as I'm on a trend leaning towards flowering only 6 big plants at a time with loads of light in a vert/hor combo. This Kush yielded 19oz and if I had used a vert 600 behind her insead of those old overhead 250's it would have been much more. The Sister in the 8gal yielded more but she had a nice vert 600 on one side...This room had about 2100W and the grow was easy and very interesting, I know I can do better next time.:)

This is the Chems Sister in an 8gal straight coco, handwatered. The buds I've been taking from the coco all come out as flavorfull or more so than any medium I've used to date...

Hey chaco great work, nice pics bro!
Ya I can yield the same or better with 6 plants as 60 and its less work too.
Big pots of coco are on par with my tree machines. My big coco girls are each about 3x5 feet across.
I love the quality of coco buds too, plus you can do part or all organics, I ran the g.o line before and quality was crazy( needs a booster tho)
I love cloning in coco too.
How was the triple kush? What nutes did you use?

The Triple Kush is excellent.I use GH nutes with koolbloom, according to the Rez-icpe.:)

iv got 8 big plants in 5 gallons pots of coco in a 10x10 room with a 1000 watt in the center and 600 watts in the corners i can not walk in the room i have to crack the door halfway open and craw on the floor. i now see i need fewer plants and bigger pots.

I used to use 8gal containers of hydroton with a dead rez for all my trees but the coco is much easier, just drain to waste or into some catchbasin setup. The biggest yield I've had from coco was 12 1gal containers/tray of the same cut grown sog style, but it was a grand pain in the ass keeping them wet, before I thought about a nice drain to waste rez it was over. The big pots and trees are easier for me and I can drop nice vert lamps in between the plants.:)

@ cyat, great thread, love to see tree's. i used to love co co untill i had a bad batch, think i need to get some more. @ chaco, fat as always mate. am about to do a tree grow myself and found it interesting that the 8gallon pot yielded better than the 20 gallon, with only a small increase in light . i only want to grow 2 or 3 monsters, p[robly staright canna coco with metrop nutrients. 3 x 600 w and 2 x 250's as lighting. as tips on size of container to get as good yield and quality as poss? mack.

Here's some new stuff I'm workin with Black rose on the right and V3 on the left, from Heath Robinson.

Nice. You are one lucky cyat.

I stand confused.

You are:
A grower of ten million styles,
Of ten million strains,
Of ten million plants.

Like American Express:
You are everywhere I want to be.

Killing it cyat.

Killing it.

chaco you're doin top notch work! thanks for posting your pics keep em comin. Do you water to runoff?
thanks laylow , fruit trees!
Mack 10 ya Ive had bad coco too get something thats solid and proven. I like sunshine pro coir, all botanicare, nutrafield, empire organics, bcuzz, and canna. Rinsing can cause problems. I rehydrate the blocks with 1/4 strength nutes in ph'd tap water. mack make sure the roots fill the pot before you water constantly.
I think yield depends mostly on the strain.
Imaginary friend sometimes I think your real,....am I dreaming this?
Super impressed you understand my name! Ya luck is part of it, also art. The worst someone can do is say no. It never hurts to ask, you'll be surprised.Ya I go through strains, Im lookin for the holy grail still. million plants, no way, I just grow a few at a time thats why I like trees , less is more.thanks IM stay up bro
The GDP came out super nice ,sticky icky
burned the last of the early lvpk( from a snapped branch) damm that shit is dank taste is kushy old school packs a punch dense on the inside of the bud and shining!!! thanks sun
