my nephew goes into rehab for herion tonight. been using for 7 months now he says. they told him to come in high so they can measure how much he needs. don't know. my smoking i would have to call an addiction even tho it's not daily. i guess the same with beer. it's not every day but almost at least one beer.

no you don't need religion to quit. yeah predisposition and physically your chemical make up etc.

i have a friend who shot up meth for years. it was his substitute for alcohol! he is a gamblholic too. very addictive personality and mother a drunk too.

he decided if he didn't quit he was dying soon. he quit meth cold turkey with no issues. i was amazed, he's been sober and clean for years now. he just bought himself a 50K truck with 25K down payment. unreal this guy. was the ultimate party nightmare for years. he has hep C so he had to stop. got it licked now tho. he is 56 and still working out of the laborers union. he smokes anyone around him. he loves hard work like nobody i ever saw. animal.

WelderDan, there are a lot of do-gooders on this pot site. You have to walk a pretty straight line to get on well here. I get into a deep hole and feel my brothers and sister smokers like to throw dirt on me.

I am in no position to throw dirt. I'm guilty of driving impaired myself. I'm just lucky I never got in an accident and hurt or killed somebody. That was years ago when I was young and thought I was bullet proof and teflon coated. Nowdays I do my drinking and smoking at home. Getting old and catching a few bruises along the way does drop you a peg or too in that area.

As for others throwing dirt, well, that's to be expected when you open up on an online forum. You'll get support and sympathy, and you'll get shit thrown at you. Don't let that get you down. It's pretty easy to talk shit when you are just a faceless line of text, and don't have to actually face the person you are addressing. People that live in glass houses...

Some of the people that are giving you shit have lost someone, and they feel strongly about driving impaired. I understand that too. Lost a few good friends to drunk drivers, drunk driving, or drunkenly stepping into traffic. Last week, after a few beers I tripped over the cat and damn near killed both of us.

As far as I know, you didn't kill anyone. That doesn't give you a pass any more than it does me. But like I said in my previous post, you're being made to pay through the ass, the nose and wallet as a deterrent. And feeding an industry that thrives on mistakes.

Hang in there. My grandmother always said it has to get worse before it gets better. It's like hitting rock bottom. No where to go but up from there.

I hope your nephew comes out of this brother. That stuff is nasty. All the shit they cut it with makes it even worse. I spent 60 days in jail and I seen so many fucked up and dope sick people on that shit. And thanks for the inspiration as well. I like the way you think. I had a problem drinking but it was only a short while and I think I got it pretty much under control now. The AA book says (read on that in jail) that you need religion but maybe that is for people that were worse than me. I don't have any imaginary friends.

Yeah I see people here telling me that I deserve everything because I drove intoxicated. I would be willing to bet anything that those that are downing me have driven stoned in their lives. I bet at least one of them does it regularly under the guise that it is medicine. Well it is medicine, but if they ever get caught doing it they will face the exact same thing I am facing right now. I don't wish them harm or anything like that, but a little honesty would be cool, or to not just be acting like I am so bad when under the very law we speak of sees them the same as me.

I will get through this and maybe instead of religion I use the internet to get me through this. At least there is no praying or hugging here.

Well some light in a dark situation, I am getting closer to some of the people in my group. I went to lunch with this one girl today, and to be honest I had my eye on her since day one. She is 28 and used to be a dancer. I am not worried about her scamming me or anything, so no need to go there. And she is not a hot hot hot stripper like some may think. She is just an ordinary girl with a nice body and a lot of problems, like me. She wanted to hang out after lunch but I thought it was good to keep the first date sort of short for a variety of reasons. I am making friends with the men in the group too. We are all fucked in there and finding ways to make the best of it. And many of these people have solutions to cope with all the oppression I have been feeling lately.

I am adjusting. I have been in custody since December and then probation which is almost the same thing. Now two weeks of counseling and I am adjusting. I really feel a huge cramp in my style, but at least I am not worried about being wanted on warrants. I have someone coming up tomorrow to take me to the beach woo hoo. I just have to find a way within this system to be me.


Sorry for all the haters in the group. It is easy to kick someone down that is going thru legal problems. I really mean it when I say I hope you never have to deal with that sort of thing.
