ok, im back at it again. The girl and i have relocated to beautiful nor cal. Have been wanting to do this for over ten years, since the first time i visited. This is not a commercial grow, looking for the best medical quality plants, not biggest. planning on 2x 600w stacked Vert coliseum in a 5x5 tent with 16 plants(5gallon buckets) 2 rows.

I name all my plants after hurricane names, if you don't like it keep it to your self, i do it to keep track of every little nuance. helps me not you. OCD is a motha, but it has perks too eh?

only a few pictures now but i will update this about once a week with pics.

Wow those buds look amazing. Can you tell us about your soil mix?

-Funk

Well those buds were grown with flora nova grow & bloom. I have since switched over to using organic soil & amendments. mainly because getting rid of soil was such a hassle then.

This soil mix is a first for me with some of the ingredients, namely neem seed meal, rice hulls/pumice, and alfalfa meal.

I followed the organics for beginners thread (https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=53792) for the last year and experimented on a few plants i had under some LEDs and outside. I was just using the basic LC soiless mix #1 for seedings and the dry fert recipe #1 +rock dusts/minerals and made teas. I enjoyed building a soil and maintaing it in a different way then i was used to and the plants came out just as good as before. So from that experience and reading here i have deduced that i would need a little extra added here and there to have a well rounded mix.

neem seed meal for pest protection at the root level, and a touch of N.

I wanted to get rid of perlite in my growing for good, so i finally made the leap this run, so i choose to go with pumice and rice hulls in combination. The rice hulls will break down later in the year, i believe about 8-10 months? and they will release silica by that point not to mention adding organic matter to the soil.

I added alfalfa meal for the growth hormone Tricontanol, and for the added vitamins and N.

So we will see how well i did with mixing once we get going, the seedlings are in a mix of peat+EWC+pumice/ricehulls+ dolomite+ touch of azomite and in a couple of weeks time we will see them in the main mix.

here is the breakdown of the amounts i used incase you were interested:
11 cubic feet of base soil
Peat 27%
Compost 22%
Pumice 12%
Rice Hulls 9%
EWC 30%
Blood meal ½ cup per cf 5.5 cups
Bone meal 1 cup per cf 11 cups
Kelp meal ¾ cup per cf 8.25 cups
Neem cake ½ cup per cf 5.5 cups
Alfalfa meal ½ cup per cf 5.5 cups
Dololime 1 cup per cf 11 cups
Rock dust ½ cup per cf 5.5 cups
Azomite ¾ cup per cf 8.25 cups

yeah when i saw it i had to take a picture, looking like an indian spice bag.
It did make it much easier then in bins. and only 10 bucks. but then i got home and found out i can't blow that sucka up with my mouth only haha. had to go back to get a air pump for 30?? fucked up but worth it.

Thanks man! the happy chem is great, some lean heavy (chemd) some lean thin (happy brother) but you cant go wrong with lemon/mango taste and it takes away pain better then anything i have smoked.

I was mixing up my soil to get some air and make sure it was moist enough and deep down one of the bins i found this little sprout. dont know what it is, i assume a grain of some sort that fell into the packaging of the rice hulls, because it does not look like a rice hull.

just 2 days in the mix and it sprouted, must be doing something right, haha. out of curiosity i planted it into some extra soil in a party cup to see what comes up.

Looking at the grain it sprouted from, you could be quite correct.

The question is,... What are you going to do with a single rice sprout,.... and how are you gonna go about doing it!? :D

This is a MMJ grow log,... but an amusing side grow would indeed be rice! I've currently got Bolivian Rainbow Peppers going in my room alongside my MMJ. ;)

just wanted to see what it was, not trying to cultivate rice.
Unless it takes pain away? haha, that would be some rice!

not at all man, come on in...

Yeah i remember telling you about this delightful plant. one pheno of key x sour bubble was so stinky that i cant wait to have a j on me in public, sweet gasoline fire. should make me some friends.haha.

the only bad part (for me) is it gives me crazy hunger. I dont need to gain weight but i was whenever i smoked it more. So it will be good to pass it on to another patient that has issues with nausea/eating.
