Oh ya - As far as quitting; I have and I honestly do better when I am smoking.

I know that you cannot over-do it when smoking. And I know that everyone needs a little break from smoking (if its a daily thing) once in a while.

I also own the Volcano Vaporizer and do probably more than half my smoking (well vaporizing) using the Volcano.

I am an experienced user and all that....

I actually take Klonopin 4x a day for Anxiety and Honestly, I have run into at least a few strains that relieve my anxiety BETTER than my Klonopin do! There have been times where, because of a nice bag of a certain type of smoke, I can go basically without needing to take my anxiety meds.

Unfortunately, I DONT have the luxury of always knowing what the strain is that I may be smoking that is helping with my anxiety so much.

I appreciate the helpful tips though. Thanks again,

-Teddy

Just wanna give a plus 1 for Mandala #1. According to a friend of mine who deals with anxiety, it was the best strain he smoked that didn't cause any anxiety problems. Also had a great flavor, almost like apples.

Best way to beat anxiety is to take it head on! Flower some haze! lol. Force yourself to tolerate it...you'll love it more then anything else when you get used to it. Try to stay away from those indica/haze hybreds, kinda uncomfortable highs in those. I'd go with oldfashioned Haze x skunk1, it's like bliss on tap.

LIGHT doses w/everything you're trying for the first time is essential. I'm talking barely blowing smoke out, wait 5 minutes, repeat until you've established the type of high you're dealing with. If you get to a point where your anxiety has been reduced, either try another SMALL dose or leave it where you're at. There are not a lot of strains that I'd recommend for anxiety treatment at anything resembling a recreational dose. You're talking 1 in a 100. But, a lot of indica's at a very small dose can grant you some relief.

Blueberry IMO is one that just keeps getting you more relaxed/happy the higher you get. All of DJ's strains are going to be good for your needs. But, in addition to seeking medicine, do some research. Anxiety is something you can combat and defeat w/out medication. Call some psychologists in your area. If you don't have insurance, find one that will give you some free advice over the phone (they're out there). Ask what books they recommend because there are great ones, and see if they can get you in for a discounted rate or recommend someone cheaper than they are. If you do have insurance, find one you like and set up an appointment.

i have not grown it, but i just picked up some blue moonshine, and this is such a GREAT indica strain, last for hours with great taste, very mellow, calms the nerves , im actually gonna be looking out for clones of her , or seeds as i really want to grow her out!

Johnny Blaze should have a pheno or two (BB-leaning) that will do the trick...as will most Blueberry and BB dominant crosses IMHO...Kyle Kushman's Straw Cough is also excellent for those purposes according to some folks i've spoken to...I don't personally suffer from it except during times of extreme stress, so I don't want to steer ya in the wrong direction.

of course most people who know me saw this coming...highland mexican genetics all the way baby...like I said, I don't know for a fact that it'll help in your case, but I sure don't see how a fat rip of H.O.G. could do anything but good for ya :tiphat:

oh, and like somebody above mentioned, (Indy) Bubblegum for SURE, that one I will stake my name on...never met a single person who didn't love the strangely up, clearheaded, focused high that it has and I'm sure it will do wonders for anxiety, as it's hard to care about much when you're smoking it :tiphat:

We grew DJ Short's Blue Moonshine out many moons ago (that's actually what the cola in my avatar is, circa ~2002-2003 if I had to guess)....and the pheno that we ended up keeping in the garden used to actually GIVE me anxiety  and I was not alone...that was some strong shit, had more than a few people get uncomfortably high from a small rip. Interesting how it affects people so differently based on their body chemistry :ying:

Phillthy just announced he is (finally) sending in some Kyle Kushman Strawberry Cough (official female clone) x SWT #4 male F1 hybrid beans into Gypsy's Seedbay server fund he said like 40 packs or so. These would likely work fantastic for you based on the genetics just don't overdo it and make sure to eat a healthy balanced diet and get plenty of rest! :good:

Nothing has calmed me down and given such a bright and relaxing day time smile high as one pheno I had of Chimera's Fighting Buddha.

Schnazzleberry #2 from him as well but this will make you lethargic. Extremely relaxing.

Another one I found surprisingly calming was the keeper white widow I found in a fem pack from The Flying Dutchmen (everything else I have grown from them has been terrible).

I rescind my Chemdog BX2 recommendation as it is too sedative and I have found paranoia when pulled early I.E. under 68 days.

Bubba, PCK OR Magenta99 both offer outstanding anxiety relief. Most Indica strains that are high in CBD.

Some of you might know it already (since I don't shy from telling) but I still claim that:

NL#5 x Blueberry

Is one of the very best crosses for anxiety and stress. These two strains really love to get it on! Just find a BB dominant gal with darker leafs and purple petioles. The pheno I recommend smells of ripe Mango and Grapefruit by the end of flowering.

I'm talking a nice pleasurable body stone (waves of warm pleasure come in rushes), you close your eyes and start... drifting and dreaming away... closest thing I've had to lucid dreaming.

Dr. Atomic has a nice offering of this jewel.

Wish you the best in your quest!

Look for strains containing the cannabinoid CBD, (cbd = anti anxiety)...
Mostly found in landraces especially ones traditionally used for hash.
Parvati and Lebanese from RSC have been tested to have a high % of CBD plants.

CBD "modulates" the intense psychoactive effects of THC, which by itself can give people anxiety who are prone to panic. I believe the CBD content makes it more mellow & comfortable without the "fear" or at least much less of it. :canabis:

I do wonder if strains like blueberry that make you giddy and smile in the long run are going to lower the feel good hormones in your brain. and perhaps the depressive anxiety inducing strains are infact better for you in the long run. Or am i looking at too many angles ...

No matter what, THC isn't good for anxiety and perpetuates that feeling. Sativa or indica isn't a good idea. The best strain I can say is Blueberry. It gives you that warm feeling that everything is okay. I have battled horrible anxiety in the past. Good luck, but I suggest stop smoking for a year and then come back gradually.
