Approved LA Dispensary Raided

great post yes215. mickey has a valid view as well. these recent DEA raids made me cancel on discovery channel, they got plenty of "evidence" on me already. sheeit. :( Maybe I should not have gone off on that rant about the federal government being the real criminals while holding a 100g chunk of hash... d'oh (8(l).

I think a big part of this, don't shoot me for saying it, is that the folks running dispensaries are life long criminals and don't know how to stop. they just can't play by the rule, because that is and will always be for chumps. so the fed could pretty much pick any shop and odds are they find some sketchy books. back when harborside san jose shut down (temporarily) i knew the whole dispensary legal issue was most def not going well.

I'm sure it would still be going on even if people voted in that bullshit.

Yep..Prop 19 would not have stopped the Feds from their revenue enhancing activities, ESPECIALLY in these hard economic times! Local municipalities and local governments, they are looking for NEW sources of revenue (i.e intradiction, confiscation of assets, asset recovery etc..etc..etc) MJ dispensaries are being viewed as the new ATM's for local municipalities to target for new taxes (already happening in San Jose, Santa Cruz, Oakland, San Francisco) and for the Fed's to increase their funding for their own organizations.

We are their new money bitches. Doens't make it right but I attend local council meetings in the Bay Area and you can here it folks if you pay attention. Get active LOCALLY and make sure they DON'T reach into your pockets anymore, get active, Che Guvara.....POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!! ......oh sorry:rant:

Prop 19 would not have stopped Feds by language, however the apparent lack of support by voters can and is being used to get the "green light" to enforce the apparent "voter mandate".

Only when voters again affirm cannabis support will the tide turn again.

NICE VTA! Best shit I have read in forever....

"We can fight if you want to.".....Perfect time to start, and I'm extremely board with my day gig, So let me know when and where, and I'll be there with bells on.

FWIW, it's going to take more than bells, or even big brass balls, imvho. :bump:

if richard lee didnt write such a shitty bill that took a direct pot shot at most momnpop commercial growers 19 would have passed.

Not saying prop 19 should have passed, just saying that LEOs are using the non passage as "proof of voter mandate" as their excuse to do what they want. It doesn't have to be true for them to spin it that way.

I'm not understanding your "voter mandate".

You are aware that 215 gave medical use the "green light" from the voters.

I don't see a lack of support from voters.

I see a lack of support for laws by law enforcement.

As a whole, we need to get our heads out of our asses and quit blaming ourselves.

Supporting a bill that doesn't support us does not stem the tide of fuckery.

19 was bullshit.

Everyone knows it.

The only ones whining about its not passing affecting ANYTHING today is trying to sell you something.

I'm not understanding your "voter mandate".

It's not mine, it's LEO's concept.

They are obscuring the boundaries because they do not accept the concept of MMJ and are trying their best to push the laws back the way they were even if it means mis-information. I never said there was an actual voter mandate.

Explain your logic please.

How is 215 not a voter mandate?

How is 19 (which never even made it) a voter mandate before 215?

You are missing my point, perhaps on purpose.

The voters voted.

The vote said medical marijuana is what we want... not recreational.

Please clarify this for me.

Mustard, your ongoing diatribe against 19 ignores as many things as it did prior to the election. Many of us forecast exactly what is taking place right now if it failed. The biggest thing that it would have done for us is that every one of these raids would have been one more step on the road to the supreme court, which is what it is going to take in order to finally settle this bullshit.

I like your sig.

:)

You're forgetting I forcasted the same REGARDLESS of the passing of a bullshit bill.

I still consider the fact that had it passed the Supreme Court wouldn't have to hear the case.

Perhaps the system doesn't give a shit what we want.

MMM

I didn't miss anything.

When LEO want's to make a raid they need approval of DA and other authorities to make the actual raid. It's not like thy are sitting around and think "let's go make a raid and hope they will prosecute it". LEO uses it to obtain permission or the green light. They are not concerned with the small matter of 215 because they consider it a bad law and want it gone.

Argue with them not me.

When did I say you missed something?

I'm arguing with your logic... not theirs.

I really wanted clarification, but I'll settle for nothing.

I might have missed some of the law and order episodes and such but LEO does not normally get a DA checking off on raids. LEO gets a sig from a judge on a warrant then they go bananas. Sometimes they fuck up so bad charges are NEVER filed (but they still keep the shit they stole).

You are probably right that DEA making raids cordinate with federal prosecutors. However most of the busts injuring this community are state level charges.

This is for those of you who think that working in cooperation with a city (whether in Cali OR Colorado or any other state for that matter) makes you untouchable... This was one of FOUR dispensaries in the area that were approved by Los Angeles to operate...

Ref: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/medical-marijuana/

The original poser cited DEA (FED) raids in facilities that met state and local requirement so that is the context of my statements, Hydrosun and MMM. These agencies are much less spur of the moment and usually require co-ordination between agencies at the federal level. We are talking a change from the "let it be" attitude prevalent in the last couple of years.

Consider the info in the link of the first post here:

http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=207163

This is a change in the posture of the DEA, not some rougue agents hoping things will stick.

I'm not condoning it or agreeing with them, rather making a valid observation. If you choose not to see what is happening, I have no problem with that.

Mustard;

I so agree with you. It is apparent to anyone who wants to see the truth, of course Medical MJ issue's are like politics, "don't confuse me with facts, my mind is made up" seems to dominate discussions like this.

I've made my opinion made, I'll let others rant on.

Peace my brothers and sisters, it's hard to come by these days and I am just trying to; "stop fighting everyone and everything" and find the road to relaxation and serenity.

The crux of the problem is this:

The FEDs do not consider 215 legal, period.

Read Haag the memo from the link.

They do not believe that the voters of one state have the right to over-ride federal law. I do not agree with them, but that is how they playing the game.

I believe they would be raiding dispensaries today regardless of the passing of any state law.

I also believe that the SCOTUS doesn't have to hear a case if they choose not to.

Please, by all means, point out what I'm ignoring. I think if you look back I said the raids would happen if it passed.
