Thanks for stopping by and all the kind words from everyone! Be sure to point out any noob mistakes you see me making as I am still learning loads everyday :)

If you are anything like me, the 400hps will be lots of fun :) It was a huge improvement upgrading from my prior settup which was a hollowed out CFL dresser. What strain is VK by the way? I sure wish I was able to get clones locally, that would make keeping an even canopy even easier!

Update?

Also, tr1ck_, I see you have the same carabiner/ratcheted light hanger doodads. What did you use between the carabiner and the mounting bracket at the top of the tent?

I found that the small carabiners on the hanger were too small to get around the diameter of the bracket on the tent, so I had to use a larger carabiner in between. It definitely works, but when you step back and look, you realize you're sacrificing about 6" of vertical space..

Just wondering if there's a better way..

I'll probably post some pictures later when the lights come on for the day.

About the caribiner situation, I just used 2 zip-ties and hooked them about 95% tight to the bar on the top of the tent. It also allows the caribiner to hook up. I originally tried your setup but realized I as losing a good 5-6 inches. With the zip-tie I only lose about 1/2-1 inch now.

I'll take a picture of the setup when I snag some shots of the ladies later :)

I did the exact same thing LOL. Works great.

Too funny! I originally had two zip ties for each carabiner (rated at 50# per), but for some reason, I didn't exactly feel comfortable there.

But since yours have held up and NOT dropped atop your plants, .. Looks like I'm back to plan A. :dance013:

I got some new beans ordered! Wohoo :joint:

I got a pack of Reservoir - Chemdog X SourDiesel, and (2x) Reservoir - SSSDH, and I also got a pack of BOG - Sour Bubble. Along with my previous stash I am going to have quite the choices next run :)

Nice pickups, dude! I've been on the fence about grabbing some SSSDH for a couple weeks. The price alone makes me want to grab it, even to hold on to until a rainy day. I've also always been interested in BOG's beans, just never actually spent the coins. Looking forward to future runs!

Thats basically what I am doing, its been nice running feminized while I only have a tent. Once I get more space I want to be able to pheno hunt and start keeping mothers. That is when I will use my Rez, Bog, and SOL beans.

Day14: Well here are the pictures right as the lights came on. When I opened the tent I realized my clip on fan finally died so I just tied up a square fan I have just before I took the pictures. Hopefully my new fan arrives in the mail soon!

I may take more pictures later after I tie everything down again and trim out a bit more foliage.

And here is a picture of the zip-tie and progrip. I actually have room to tighten it quite a bit more I realized if I have some extra tall plants at some point :)

Looking GOOD my friend. And thanks for the closeup of the zip tie hangers. :)

Too funny, how almost identical our setups are.

You, me, and Hipydan are all rocking very similar setups. It will be interesting to see how well us first time tent users harvest :)

It's so close, sometimes when I see your pictures tr1ck, I think to myself, "How did he get in my growroom? And why did he take pictures?!". Haha. Your canopy is so even I keep thinking you've got 4 plants and not 2, really good job man!

That's one price I'll likely pay for the sake of variety. All good, though. I'm actually considering a similar SCROG with two varieties, two of each, set up side-by-side.

Decisions, decisions..

If you haven't check out his thread yet, I recomend you go over to VerdentGreen's thread. He runs a 4 pot modular SCRoG setup, and he is always running multiple strains at the same time. Here is the link: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=124809

He seems to be able to keep a fairly even canopy, and he pulls some amazing weight from that 250 watt!

Mini hijack, hope you don't mind tr1ck. Just say the word and I'll pull the pics down. Until the seedlings make it 100% I'm holding off making a journal of my own. For the record, I'm using a DR60 and 250w HPS.

Overall close-up shot of the homemade DWC, rockwool cubes planted into 5" netpots surrounded by my hydroton. It may be a little too moist, afraid of stem/root rot, going to keep my eye on it.

Chemdog, Seedling#2: This guy has been a monster, the most vigorous out of the whole bunch.

In hindsight I would have rather done a soil grow. Both to save money and so I could run plants at different stages, a sort of perpetual grow. Oh well, I'm sure this won't disappoint.

Looking great Dan! You can post as many pics here as you want, its fine with me :) Its nice that we are all doing things ever so slightly different. Gives us the opportunity to see lots of different variables in action.

I'm really curious to see how going vertical is going to work out. Do you plan on putting any sort of caging around the light? Will you have any sort of fan blowing on the bulb?

Make sure you have more than enough air for DWC, I had a bad root rot experience due to warm res temps combined with not enough air when I tried DWC :( (This was in a .75 gallon ghetto aerogarden setup)

Thanks for the support tr1ck! I'm not sure what I'm going to do as far as training goes, I hear the Chemdogs don't stretch much at all, and the SourDiesels go nuts and stretch as much as 4x. So I'm thinking I'm going to set up a "web" of sorts on the outside perimeter of the tent, and go heavy LST training to try to make a donut a la Aerohead's grow, pretty sure you've had to have seen it by now. Got tons of air, a GH dual diaphragm pump, it's 3 psi, 320 gph (20 l/min). The top water line of my DWC is like river rapids. As things progress I'm going to figure out a ghetto mount for one of my 4" axial fans placed in the middle of the plants blowing up towards the light. I've currently only got a 15 gallon tub filled to the 12gallon mark, going to upgrade in the future to a 20gallon, probably fill it to about 15-16 gallons.
