Mrktwiz's *new* 2K/stadium, CoCo SCROG grow log

That`s why we`re here Bro.....ta help.......Aero`s precise and on the money , but flip flops were created for perpetual harvests so yas could run 2 rooms side by side with twice as many lights flippin on and off every 12 hrs with half as many ballasts , while not ever showing power spikes on your meter instead of 1 light cutting off and on every 12 hrs with the same wattage used 24/7..........then....

You run each room 12/12 behind each other a month or so apart in age/strain dependent , and you`re pullin harvey`s every 4-5 weeks instead of every 9-10 weeks with not much more invested except socket setup`s and bulbs...

There is the lil extra environmental control due to using more light , but it`s worth it if yas keep a separate mom , clone , pre-veg area so the bloom room`s can be re-planted the same day they`re harvey`d .......simple...babyshit.....

Hope Harvey`s better to yas than you were talkin bout the other day Bro.....You`ll get there.....

Peace....DHF.....:ying:....

Thanks DHF your the best :yes:.....I just kept hearing the term and was wondering if I could implement it in my grow but I see it not applicable. I see by your post in another thread that I am about 1K short in lumens 50 watts per sq ft(?), so if I have roughly a 8 x 8 area I should be running 3200 watts? correct?

:tiphat:

DHF

Get as close as possible Bro , and yes 64 x 50`s 3200......We usedta use rooms in 10`s....with an 8 x 8 , 3-1KW`s will do , but it doesn`t give proper lumen coverage with 3 lights in a square area IME.....

8 x 8`s better served with 5-600`s in an "X" pattern with the plants positioned where they can be hit by 3 lights at all times on a floor grow for better lumen absorption......

Just posted bout 1KW`s penetrating sideway`s and 360 degrees max 42" depending on canopy thickness , with 600`s only doin 36" at best with blue horti`s , so it`s only a math thingy Bro.....

Holler if I can help Bro.....DHF...:ying:....

Sorry for no new pics guys but I have been fighting some back issue's recently. We just got done with the 1st trimming of the first harvey of the vertical run, here are some thoughts;

1) The OG Kush looked just great and nice rock hard golf ball size nugs. (I am keeping this strain and going to continue to work with it, it may just be this pheno but it is simply amazing and I think, with some work, I can get it to 2 oz per plant production)

2) The TANG is looking good also, we will be doing a LOT more training and backside trimming and HELLA lot more lollypoping to focus BUD development not LARF development.

3) I only grew like 3-4 AffyGooey and now I am wishing I had grown more, it was SO frosty we thought it had a real bad case of PM and it was just crystal FROST, amazing.

4) The "White" This also turned out to be a VERY good strain which I will continue to work with and see if I can get it up to 2 oz per plant production, it is extremely sticky to the point during trimming it made it very hard to trim as the buds just stick to everything LOL.

Next run changes will be;

1) Adding a new row for 18 more plants.
2) Running possibly 2 more 600's to meet the 3200 watt we need for the 8x8 and better overall light coverage per Bobbleheads light chart (thank you Bobble)
3) Hand watering, forget those damn drippers, cannot count on them and many plants got UNDER watered, this won't happen again or until I can afford Blumat's.
4) Going to KISS nutrient formula (Maxi-crop & Maxi-Bloom dry nutrient, VERY cheap) with some minor tweeks, using Hygrozyme, root, Vermi T tea solution, switching from CoCO to Fox Farms Happy Frog Soil, Maxicrop Seaweed/Kelp additive.
5) Heavier Lolli popping and much more BACK side trimming to focus growth on larger main bud growth.
6) Increase CFM of both intake and exhaust fans and try and cut volitlity of temps from a range of 66 - 85 to something more like 70 - 80 if I can.

I want to simply thank everyone's great help and we will move onto another run and more success. I will get some trimming pics and final weights to try and figure GPW but I am pretty sure we did NOT hit the 1.5GPW I was shooting for (damn you Aerohead and Whodare you guys are killing it lol).

Take care all:tiphat:

Congrats on the harvest! Sounds like you are moving in the right direction towards dialage of the grow space.

Dunno if it helps but I doubt I am going to hit 1.5 gpw either this run...

Can't wait to see the next show!!

I am still going to try and post some pics of the buds hanging and some bud porn since I know thats what everyone really want's to look at heh.

Thanks Aerohead I guess we got to realize it does take some time to switch from horizontal to vertical and be easy on ourselves but I am SOLD on vertical and NOT going back to horizontal at this point.

WhoD -

You know I was arguing with my partner about that..I prefer CoCo, but he wants to go back to soil, I started with soil and it is a bit cheaper and unfortunately we are really broke atm until we can service a few clients and move some of this OR I start working again (hopefully next week I will be on the road working again) and we just found out that my partner's job might be going away (weeee gotta love California's FUCKED up economy DO NOT COME HERE PLEASE, we need every job for us lol)......we are actually trying to get back to a KISS room for ease of maintenance and various other reasons, I really don;t think it wil make that much difference but I would not be surprised to see us going back to CoCo again.

Take care and thanks for stopping by WhoD!

Nice looking frosty buds!!

For full sized pics:
The fastest way is just to manually edit the "&thumb=1" string out of the post for each pic

Try it and post some pics, we all want more pics!!

There`s really not a medium once dialed that`s as close to explosive hydro growth than coco MrK , and you`ll be sorely disappointed next run goin backta dirt.......

I totally understand ease of maintenance since there`s the possibility of not always being there ta check on shit , and that`s why dialed automated feed setups are worth their weight in gold Bro......

I only went to my locations once a week , so depending on equipment designed as simple and redundant as possible HAD to be what I used.....

Wish I could`ve consulted before yas went with bullshit drippers that`ll clog , or drown 1 plant while the next 1 starves for juice......

Open ended 1/4" driptubing with basket stakes is the most reliable feed setup I was ableta come up with using a proper manifold and control valves so each plantsite received EXACTLY the same amount of juice every time the feed timer/pump kicked on....

It`s the little things Bro , so quit chasin yer tail and changin shit when yas needta buckle down and dial whatchas got goin.....It`ll happen....guaranteed.....just not in 1 or 2 runs.......

Even uppin the watts per sq ft won`t help without dialin environment with proper RH throughout the cycle......

Blumats work , but there`s issues since it`s a gravity fed setup and if yas got different levels of plants yas gotta have rez`s raised higher than each level for proper flow , so there`s always tradeoffs.....

Holler if I can help.....Now get backta trimmin damnit......LOL.....

Peace..DHF.....:ying:.....

Thanks DHF yah you called it. We just had SO MUCH trouble with the dripper's, we had to literally clean them every time, every other day and it became a major bitch. I might talk to my partner and see if I can talk him into going back to CoCO, I really prefer it myself, but with all we BOTH have going on with jobs that are stopping, starting...etc we kinda wanted to do something almost bullet proof to keep the run going since we both will have a lot less time to fudge with it, but I ALWAYS think about what you suggest to me DHF and I am re-thinking that decision as I type.

Ok TEST picture to see if I can get this bitch to take a normaly sized pic and not a thumbnail;

OK this pic sucks ..how did you do that Aerohead?

Congrats on the successful harvest first of all.
2nd, this was your first run in coco? You gotta do it over and over again till you get it right. I'm sure you guys messed up a few plants when you started growing in dirt too. I've been doing it a while and I still mess up all the time. :D
Like DHF said, automated watering. Helps to have a couple dollars though first to buy everything, get it set up... so I think using dirt to fill the bloom room back up right away while you sort the automated watering might not be such a bad idea. You really can't beat a medium that can be watered every day, or be forgotten about a couple days and not let your plants die... The best of both worlds.
Dirt is for the outdoors.

To blow up your pics, right click and image, copy image location, paste that into the picture box next to the web link above the text box. :)

NO I've run CoCo before he hasn't....I will talk to him and I think he will come around, he was the one who dealt with the damn drippers though (because of my back issues) so I understand his frustration. OK TEST PIC;

It hides the path from me too if I quote someones post first.

Try going right to advanced post mode, insert a picture, then look at the code it puts in the post, remove the &thumb=1 and preview it...

Re-designing the room a bit, adding a 3rd shelve unfortuntately my partner is really sick:puke: so I did it all myself today....BIG mistake, screwed up my back and now I cannot move....still drying last harvey will have totals once I trim (final trim) it all up, and I gotta do it all by myself (wahhhhh :cuss:) .....sorry need to whine a bit my back is just killing me. Time to eat some medibles.

Take care gang ....keep it vertical!
