Once States rights are restored back to the states soveregnty, and people start getting what they vote for without Federal interference, we might legalize.
Not holding my breath on that one...

Once the balance of profit tips from making more money off it's legal status than off it's illegal (search and seizure, private prisons, covert gov drug smuggling etc) status, it will be come "legalized". I fear that the corporate entities will destroy any semblance of joy that we find in this plant however, so I've got mixed feelings.

I am a numbers guy, and the numbers I seen says by 2020 it has to be legalized. As old fucks who were fed anti propaganda their entire lives pass away, the baby boomers and their kids will be running office and voting. Approval ratings are constantly rising, at the current rate by 2020 the shit would have to be legalized.

I think kids in school now are fed more stupid shit than probably the old fucks were, hell they have pigs in schools constantly putting down drugs, of course if they treated herb like it should "it's not a drug" " it's a PLANT that helps" I wouldn't have a problem with what they teach!!!!!!!:plant grow:

I havn't read any of the responses ... but the first thing that comes to mind is NEVER, although I've never thought this way before.

The new article about the DEA giving big pharma the OK to grow there own for THC medicine makes me think they're going to be the ONLY ones with the OK to grow there own.

depends what you are talking about,

global legalization? never

in most well developed democratic countries maybe, maybe 50 years.... might not even become legal in our lifetimes, maybe aiming for medical legalization with fair laws involving that might be something to expect, anything else is just tooo far away if you ask me

it's only legally fair in amsterdam right now

with all the shit going on, this question never really gets a chance by any politicians....
and most of them don't know shit about the subject either...

am I being to negative? feels like 2steps front 1step back.. a matter of time... time

i see us going backwards.....now that we have so many people making money off of it, they are fighting to keep it exactly where its at....and now we have an army of dumbass pothead kids in cali being led around by thier noses by the 'special canna interests' hurting the movement to deal w besides local governments that just flat out ignore local laws...my advice to those who want legalization in the u.s: do whatever you can to keep from following calis example...what used to be the leader in u.s. cannabis is now a sold out corporate shell....

imho monied few have alternate scenarios anticipated and have chosen the path of least resistance. opression of faculties (dumbing down) and overstimulation of the other senses by means of mind control (television) and appetite (food); it being much easier to control entire populations.
the veiled corruption of the food supply being a not well hidden example of the power some wish to posssess over all others (divine right theory). When they have accomplished that feat the nexus is attributing loyalty to them by tithe or tax.
we being socially crippled by our inclination to possess, grow, and use cannabis, are in no way able to overcome a force that will go to great lengths to protect what has become a cash cow for them (from judges, lawyers, corpo-prisons, and all ancillory industries supporting the continued travesty called prohibition).
civil disobediance should be just that, civil, not criminal. prove who was harmed by our inclinations towards cannabis, or declare the law unjust.

hey you with the tin hat! they no longer need your mind to control you...

I can't see how the government is making money off cannabis other than seizer laws! What is it like $50,000 a year to keep a person in jail! I can't see how the government is making money off cannabis!:plant grow:

its not even just about making cash...it has become a literal economy in our country....many government agencies make all thier money off drugs....more often then not, a leo organization, whether city, county, state, borough or fed, has most of, if not all thier budget based on the amount of drug seizures and/or arrests they made the previous year....if those numbers start dropping, so does thier budget, and there goes some jobs...and the drugwar job market is not limited to police officers and agents....court clerks, judges, jailers, the third janitor who works the graveyard at the courthouse, the lady who sews the patches on cop uniforms,...the list is endless....the drug war has become a self sustaining entity(thanks nixon, but a really special thanks to ronnie and his dried up wife)....
---in my above post i was not referring to these fine folks, but the fuckin scumbags IN the canna industry who do thier very best to keep it EXACTLY where it is right now....just look at what happened in cali this year! biggest joke in the history of our fight for rights....and if someone doesnt know what im talking about....they have NO IDEA what is going on IN the cannabis industry...
---i do have faith that one day it will be legal, and maybe even not that far away...but it wont be what any of us want, and those of us who want to control our own fate in this game will be a hell of a lot farther underground then we are now...believe it....

Personally I see the economy completely collapsing and survival being the first item of business rather than the right to smoke weed.

So it's better for us as a nation to keep arresting & convicting people & incarcerating people for growing & using a PLANT than for people to keep their heads stuck up their asses & improve the economy & keep spending up wards of $50,000 a year, that's really going to help the economy & survival !!!!!!!!!!!

Conference on Future of Marijuana Reform in California Will Draw Broad Coalition to End Failed Prohibition Policies

Saturday, March 19th at Ricardo Montalban Theatre in Hollywood

"Next Steps for Marijuana Reform in California," a day-long gathering of marijuana reform advocates, will take place March 19th at the Ricardo Montalban Theatre in Hollywood. In the wake of Proposition 19’s remarkably strong showing at the polls last year, this conference will address ongoing efforts to end failed marijuana prohibition in California, steps to reform the state’s medical marijuana laws, and priorities for marijuana reform in the coming years.

The conference is presented by California NORML, Drug Policy Alliance, Marijuana Policy Project, Americans for Safe Access, and VibeNation MultiMedia. Confirmed participants include leaders of the Proposition 19 campaign and other ballot initiative proponents, Latino Voters League, California NAACP, United Food and Commercial Workers, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, and California Church Impact as well as political consultants, attorneys, medical marijuana advocates, and public officials.

The event is open to the public, and the audience will have the opportunity to comment and weigh in on competing proposals. A party and reception, featuring live music, other entertainment and refreshments, will be held at the Montalban Theatre immediately following the conference until 10 pm.

The conference follows up the sold out "Next Steps" conference in Berkeley in January (http://www.canorml.org/nextsched.html).

What: "Next Steps for Marijuana Reform in California"

When: Saturday, March 19th, 9 am to 6 pm

Where: Ricardo Montalban Theatre, 1615 Vine St., Hollywood

Conference Schedule: www.canorml.org/LAConfSched_Online.html

Tickets: www.drugpolicy.org/nextsteps or http://bit.ly/enYQJX

Admission: $20 for the conference; $20 for the reception. A $30 discounted ticket for both events is available online in advance only.
