Living in the nw of the USA we get a very short growing season. Having a plant that will start to flower early may help get the plant finished before the bad weather comes. As for indoor use I see them as bad genetics. As for the Fem plants this is the worst thing ever for this industry, Why do they produce them??

Because the breeders got tired of people buying there seeds and then taking those and breading them back to each other until they claim to have the same strain as the seeds they came from. Now this person sells these seeds as his own but they are not! So how do you stop people from copying your work? Offer no males and plants that will Hermi! A Fem plant is just a Hermi! That's it I do not care how you spell it out they are a true Hermi! Bad Bad Bad for the industry too. You want untouched genetics you would have to been saving the bag seed you had way back before all the crosses and such came about!

I DID! And the plants I pull from those 25 year old seeds make most of what is available today look bad! Soon everything will start looking,smelling,tasting the same if we keep crossing these plants. Seeds that came from a large outdoor grow and pollinated by multiple males is your best chance at diverse gens, one bud could have been pollinated by 100 different males. so. You break up this bud thinking you have seeds from this smoke? Nope you have seeds from the female and all the males that she came in contact with. Wow that is a mind blower. Playing with crosses will be the end to pure genes.

A hermaphrodite plant is one with both male and female reproductive organs. a fem seed is not hermaphrodite its female, a plantgrown from fem seeds that shows both male and female reproductive organs isnt a female its hermaphrodite.

Here is some recent sour60. The "elite" version. Very happy, been pulling some samples off plants and force drying in a food dehydrator. Normally when I do this the taste is mostly destroyed, still some remains unlike using a microwave or oven. However, with the samples I've taken off a couple phenos, the taste shines through , unaffected, as well as potency. Simply amazing, but it is not so good since it makes it that much harder to exercise restraint.

mate what is an elite version of sour 60 enlighten me, and how many of the phenos do i have to go through before i find this version??

is there something specific i should be looking for in order to find this "elite" version

Anyone who says they grew LR & it was 100% garbage loses all respect from me, I'm inclined to believe they are spewing out there ass & they haven't actually run it. I have, multiple times, solely for it's AF traits (Harvest in July), and it is 100% bomb. I'm not saying it's an elite, but it's damn good weed that gets covered in crystals & I can sell it for $325+ a zip all day long.

Sounds like you're on a mission to nut swing as much as possible. Maybe you didn't wait a bit & smoked something else? LR is definitely a true creeper weed.

i fully agree, i actually found that lowrdyer 2 and a strong coffee was actually paranoi inudeing, low 2 grown in organics with enough u.v light is bomb weed, ill match it with 90 percent of top grade that ive had in various states.

Its just the newest versions of sour60. Cleaned up the phenos a bit (still some variety tho). I'm not sure exactly what was done, but I know there was over a year of working on it.

It looks like the phenox were cleaned up a bit. 3 distinct ones now, but they are not really 3 exact phenos, as they flower at different speeds, kind of like phenotypical cousins I guess...

The calyx to leaf ratio is much much better now, lot of people complained about that, but the trim makes good butter.

Oh man, im excited for these new AF's. Personally, I'd love to see more sativa autoflower crosses.

But yeah, autoflowers aren't 'bad' like they used to be. They're not up to par with the highly potent stuff (Chem, OG, C99, etc), but they can definitely hold their own. And, like several already said, sometimes its NICE to have a bit less potency.

The higher CBD ratio is also a huge plus for many med users. Good CBD plants are pretty difficult to find in the elite world today. Granted, that's changing now, with some breeders focusing on releasing higher CBD plants.

Personally, I use them when I need a quick harvest. I'm running out of meds, and I can't grow year long. When I start my operation up again I always run a few AF's, so that I can get some nice hold-me-over smoke while my elites are vegging.

i've personally never run them by choice before. but i have had a couple spring up on me a few years back, they came out of some bagseed i was growing out. is it possible to have seeds from one bag that produce normal seasonal growth phenotypes, along with AF phenotypes?

i believe all of the bagseed i was growing then was out of one zip i had gotten. when they first started flowering in veg under 24/0 @ 4-6" tall i was so confused.. i had no idea about AF back then. yielded 7g on that lil one maybe? and yea, smoke was quite sub par.. but it was also bagseed.

personally, i like the idea of having some good quality AF genetics available. being able to throw a couple into the veg room while the cannaisseur genetics grow out & then flower would be really cool.

Wow Rez, what an influence you are in this community. Not only did you bring a good spotlight to AFs (I want to try them now, and I was lured in because your involvement) but you get a giant shit storm going that involved everything from the ethics of growing AFs to debts owed to seed vendors. You are the maestro. And all these crazy characters come out.. You have that one loony Canadian that always insults everyone, but says his name at the end with peace. He reminds me of another Canadian that use to frequent this site, but was banned or something. The guy is the world's greatest expert but I bet he lives in his van and just tells stories. You have guys wanting to make a SSSDH with an AF and I bet that works, but it still gives me a chuckle. Kind of like a Jumbo Shrimp thing. So in closing I just want to thank you for today's read, it was everything I had hoped it would be.

But seriously, guys planting AFs say stuff like, "I plant 80 of them and I get about 30 females..." They must do a first initial seed run with a pack of seeds. At the rate of reproduction that isn't too costly. I sure as hell am not going to buy 8 packs of seeds.

They are a waste of time, and yeah I'm a plant racist, auto's have no place in my garden. I have tried several auto, believe it or not. I have a nephew who has a closet. I really see no need to defend my point of view. It's my opinion.
I have tried the Haze Auto, I have tried Sour 60, I have tried Quiksilver, I have tried Roadrunner, I have tried 60 day wonder, I have tried Fruit Auto, I have tried Diesel Ryder, and Ak47 ryder. The most impressive was the auto using White Russian genetics, and it was a 6 of 10 at best. I like potency, so auto's cannot stand up my Grimm Cindy. Why would I ever grow and auto, when I have Super Silver Haze, Flo, Jack, Karma's San Fernando Diesel, every hybrid cultivar I have been responsible for, whether I continue the cross after testing or not, buries the best auto.

autoflowers arent all that bad.
i got a buddy who grows lowryder in his garden because its the only plant stealth and quick enough to grow. he tried lots of strains outdoors and says lr is the most reliable. other strains would just die off or not finish fast enough.

i smoked some of his outdoor lr and its not that bad. i think they have their place for outdoor/stealth growing.

/edit: he also gets the seeds very cheap from another dude who makes his own lr f2 seeds. plus he tells me they have very high fem rate.

How is having an outdoor perpetual harvest throughout spring and summer pointless? How is getting extra bud out of a veg room pointless? These seem to be excellent selling points for autos. The misconception that autos aren't potent is pure ignorance. Even if there are some autos that don't meet your criteria, I can guarantee there are many more non autos that would do the same. Do you know how many crappy non auto strains there are out there, there are plenty of them. Are people supposed to only grow strains that meet your standards. Maybe you should be mad at all of the people that are growing high yielding, average potency non AF commercial strains. Do you really think that we don't know what potent herb is? People who are anti-auto tend to think that growers of autos have never had anything else to compare autos to.

This is a Spyder F7 and she has no problem standing up to strains like Cindy.
