Security would be my only concern... It wouldn't look odd to have a generator with a tool trailer... Noise from fans would be another concern...

On another note, thanks for turning me on to heat exchangers...

No. You rent a warehouse that has 3 phase electrical and run all the power from the warehouse. You only drive away if the landlord comes. No genny. No noise cause it's in a warehouse.

could easily get into this for under 10 grand for the trailer and gear then its around a 1300 a month to pay rent and utilities

Might I add that NFarmer was cranking out 6-8 pounds every 9 weeks. 1 week veg, 8 weeks flower.

Tell you the reasons it won't work... It will on all levels.

But why reinvent the wheel?

Don't drool on your screen. :dance013:

www growbot com, in case link won't work.

Saw these at kush con.

I would,'t go with less than a 16' trailer, if you have a truck to pull it.

Heat, cold, sound, and drainage are your biggest issues. FLIR could be overcome pretty easily. The insulation will need to be first rate.

You could also have a female plug built into the side or bottom of the trailer, then you could just have one "big" extension cord that would, of course, be sized correctly for the distance from the panel to the unit.

Peace

That's like a 100k. I wanna do this for like 1500. Haha. Even to knock of one crop. It's just fun.

The female plus is a great idea.

Don't underestimate the amount of dumb shit I've bought and got stored. :D

I always liked NFarmer cause he was so cheap. If you read his thread he used the cheapest MH bulbs. The cheapest nutes. Paid for soil n electricity. That's it.

Keep it simple like him.

I have portable AC's, chillers, ballasts, bulbs, CO2 burners, pots, fans...lol everything.

Don't forget some dummy equipment as props.

Old air compressor, biggest you can find. Lathe, drill presses, etc.

When you unplug the trailers, you plug in your "props".

That explains the power consumption to anybody who might ask.

you can get polyurethane foam sprayed inside for insulation.it has a r7 insulative value and it would probably only be a couple hundred to get it done if insulation is a factor.great idea btw, shit i'm even considering this one but i'll wait and see how it goes for you first lol. good luck with it vagpuncher

Don't buy a new trailer get an old contractor's or landscaper rig. I don't know how tall your are but if you are over six feet, it will be a pain in the neck unless you get a taller trailer. You can also find used cube vans super cheap.

Climate control is no more than in a sealed room. I agree. I was trying to emphasize two points:

1. To make the room's environmental requirements relatively predictable and stable, insulate well. Summer/winter will have less effect on your internal conditions, and it should be relatively easy to control once you get it dialed. The idea of housing within a warehouse moderates temperature swings as well. Big concrete floor as a heat sink... Very nice.

2. My second point is that all of your environmental management equipment must also be contained within the trailer if you simply want to pull it away quickly and discretely. So... the utility room must be sized appropriately to house all of your controls. An appropriate power cord plugging into a hardwired electrical panel is a clean solution. If the socket is based out the bottom of the sub floor, this does nothing to change the exterior profile/discreteness of the build.

Side Note: a utility trailer strikes me as an appropriate sort of item to be in a warehouse... so if she's tight enough, just unplugging her might be sufficient should the landlord drop by on short notice.

In my mind, the 7x14 you posted is perfect: a utility room with all monitoring/storage/controls/ballasts accessed through the front door. Partition wall. Access the grow through back doors.

One of the beauties of this concept is that if you invest thoughtfully in her, she really becomes a true asset. Old school lore says that you can only grow for a couple of years in the same place before you need to move on. You can move this op at any given time (low traffic time please) without missing a beat. Find a place to plug here in, and you're ready to go. And the places to discretely plug in a trailer are far easier to find than a solid grow house.

This idea can be built out so many ways. Each one genius.

Only problem I can see is that someone else could drive away with your op. Some evil-genius could wait a week before harvest, cut your ball-hitch lock, hook 'er up, drag her away, and plug 'er in at evil-man's house for a week and take all your clever hard work.

The only potential weakness is the idea's very strength: self-contained mobility.

found numerous 8.5x24 foot enclosed for 5k...

16 feet for 6-8k plus 8 x8 for clones, rez, ballast, and even a box that you could put the compressor of a mini split in for more stealth...
