finding seeds at the 6th weeh ...

just loike the title says, i found a bunch of seeds in some of the buds that i looked at.

Genetics are bag seed ...
1 month veg ...
6th week into flowering ...

i dont understand what could have caused this to happen ???
there are not any sort of light leaks ...
one day during lights off time i took the girls out for about 25 minutes so that i could work on the room really quick. this was when they where about three weeks into flower. could that have caused stress and therefor seeds ...

This is my 1st grow so any help please ...

I checked the plants for nanners or any other sighns of turning hermie on me but i cant seem to find anything ...

The nanners are deep inside the buds where you can't see them.
heat cold stress, bug stress, pH stress, nutes, etc...and more.
There are many vectors than just lights to stress your plants than needed to create Nanners.

I'm curious if most people trash the seeds produced under these circumstances? Would they be likely to produce another hermi or is it worth it to take a chance and plant them?

I personally trash these seeds. Hermaphroditic tendencies are not a preferred characteristic for crops..

The 1st replie said about the temps can stress them into popping some seeds. My temps went from 55 degress lights out to 87 to 90 degrees at the very highest during lights on. That was during the 1st 2-3 weeks flowering.
Now the temps are 60 degrees at the lowest and 87-90 degress at the highest.

Also i have been using SuperThrive in my nute regime almost the entire time. Now i read that SuperThrive can cause hermies ...

Also using Dyna grow BLOOM ...5ml
Botanicare Cal Mag ...10ml
Botanicare Liquid Karma ...10ml
Botanicare Silica Blast ...5ml
just started to encorporate Botanicare Hydroplex as well for my bloom booster ...5ml
and SuperThrive ...1ml


The only other thing that i can think of is that 2 out of the 3 plants that i have came from a bag of herb that i got from a friend. The herb was good but the only thing that was weird was that it had seeds in it. It looked just like headies with seeds in it. So i tried them more as like practice seeds but i went with it ...

Then the 1 other seed that i used was from some really good dank ...


Could the 2 seeds that came from the seedy batch of herb have been hermies and turned the other plant into a hermie as well ..??..

i mean this is my 1st grow and all the buds on the plants look really good. Theres so many crystalls on all the buds, im kinda amazed.
theres 1 4 foot sativa dom that still needs around a month i think ...
The other 2 indica dom are around 3.5 foot. Very lemon pine smell. These 2 will b done in the next couple weeks by the looks of it ...
its the 6th week flowering now ...

Im just wondering what u all would do. its all personal smoke not for selling ...
Would u let them finish out and still smoke it? Will it still be decent smoke?

The way I see it, you already have 6-weeks of flowering time invested, so what's a another 2-4 weeks gonna hurt.

I had a situation like yours before. I had some NL#5 x OPT seeds from Reeferman back in the days. After sexing them, I only had 1 female. I took clones and flowered out the seed. She was growing vigorously, then she started to show the pre-flower characteristics. I had read somewhere before that the OPT (Oregon Purple Thai) had hermaphroditic tendencies. The buds were looking monstrous, so I decided to let her finish up. It turned out to be some pretty damn good herb. The next run I did with her, she didn't herm on me. But all the times afterwards, she threw the pre-flowers. I just kept watch over her and when I saw those pre-flowers, I'd pick them off.

Once, when I had NL#5 x OPT flowering, I also had Ogre and Blue Dynamite in the in the same room. I was pulling off some pre-flowers from the NL#5 x OPT and accidently pollinated the Ogre and Blue Dynamite. I recently harvested the (NL#5 x OPT)x Ogre. She didn't hermaph either.

So, the moral of the story is let them go and see what you end up with. Hopefully she won't be too seeded, but if it's just for the head, then it doesn't matter. Enjoy!!

id run the grow out 2 more wks to finish and get finished seeded bud is better the no bud....make hash smoke it whatever r the plant truchcovered and nice lookin? if the brown and scragly chuck em. but u prob did nuthin wrong but grow bagseed. im not knockin bagseed grower as many nice things came from bagseed but u have to consider why they exist and the odds of what can come out of them id say its like 80% hermi...

The thing was is that i was waitin for my good genetics in the mail from Nirvana...
I should have just waited for the good genetics and used them...
Well u live and learn i guess...

I guess i'll just finish them out since there only a few weeks away...
It still looks to b some really good smoke anyway...
No more plantin bagseed for me...

interesting on superthrive i never thought of using it thought the whole grow plants can get the b-vitamins from the other shit i use. but interesting none the less. u think it would of been brought up years and years ago if it was really the cuz of herms...i would really like to read on that even though it doesnt concern me....
hey look at it positively...u got experiance ya now know u r capable of growin a plant to maturity and 2nd run with proven genes should be alot less stressful.. what strains did u pick for ur next run.
