That's a tricky one, and I don't think anybody has a concrete answer for that yet. There are obviously strains that are highly susceptible to sx reversal, and others that are very hardy ... but if I had to bet money on it I'd say that yes, even your ridiculously hardy hawaiian clone-only can be reversed ... maybe it just needs more spray, more regularly, maybe even starting several weeks before 12/12ing it, and at a higher PPM concentration?

You said yourself it had "shitloads of male flowers", but no pollen ... so it seems you may not've been too far away from tipping it over the edge where it may've produced pollen

festivus you have a unique opportunity at this point to contribute towards what is currently something of a gray area about this process - highly stress-resistant plants such as your hawaiian clone-only, so I ... and I'm sure many others here, would urge you to at least give it one more go with the hawaiian ... but this time an all out "if this doesnt work NOTHING will" attack on it

Thanks Phenominal, don't know where the Phil came from (Phenominal Phil??). Realized it driving to work this a.m., was hoping to edit before you saw it.

This last round I ran my solution on the 30 volt setting for 24 hours. Had a silver layer over the top of the container with amber colored solution with dark sediment in the bottom, used a total of approx. 75 fl. ounces of solution.

I started daily spraying 2 weeks before 12/12 and daily until both plants had heavy male flower clusters. Wasn't getting any flowers to open, so I put both plants outside (in HI). 5 days later no flowers had opened, and some were starting to turn brown, the way over ripe fruit does. After another 2 days I decided to chop the clusters and dry them over a screen. Screened all the clusters with a 125 micron screen and got zero pollen.

It kinda makes sense though. It was a local outdoor strain, and with our crazy daylength cycles any "local" strain would have acclimated over time.

I've never tested the conductivity of my solution, but judging by the color, sediment and silver visible I don't think the solution was too weak.

This last effort wouldn't have happened if it weren't for the lone seed I got from the last time I used c/s. All the plants in this try were clones from that one seed. I didn't keep a clone in veg, so this will be it for this strain.

I feel like I'm swimming upstream against the karmic natural order of things with this strain. I guess it's just not to be...

Oh, and another attempt was with an accidental cross of my hawaiian and A-Train (affy x trainwreck). It was my first grow in my new tent, and I had a huge light leak that made the a-train hermie like crazy (the haw'n didn't throw a single ball/nanner). I ended up getting about 1/2 doz. seeds on the hawaiian and grew them out. Did c/s on 2, but that time I harvested quite a bit of pollen. Dusted 3 of the other clones but the pollen was sterile.

I regret loosing the hawaiian, but the cross of a-train x haw'n is REALLY tasty!!
While I won't have either, I did cross both strains with wally's c-99, and the haw'n with chemdog ibl so all is not lost.

I'll be trying to reverse a blue dream in a couple of weeks, and I'm hopeful the c/s treatment works to perfection! I will update my progress in this very cool thread.

Hey guys. Thanks Phenomenal for the tutorial. I just wanted to make sure.... can I treat only few branches of the plant with cs and to smoke untreated buds? Wouldnt the cs affect the whole plant? what about the treated buds...make hash, maybe would do a trick? Cheers guys and good luck.

I just followed the steps on the first page of this thread, and It seems like it will work.

Well anyways I just wanted to share a few pictures on how mine turned out.

The Raspberry Cough is in a quart container. It was 12 inches @ flip. She is now 18 or so, inches tall.
No pollen has dropped yet. Any day now.

Just how long does it take for the seeds to form after the flower has been pollinated? Does it take 1 month or 2 months? Lots of pollen from the process but no seeds as of yet.

Does anyone spray in veg or only when you add it to flower?

I was planning to spray a few days in veg before adding to flower. ( i read the how to i see you can just do it in flower)


What if i let it complete its cycle and get the pollen i need.
Then if i put it back in veg and reveg it will it stay male?
will cuts of that male will still produce female seeds or will it remain female unless it is reversed with CS again?

I guess ill find out

I personally spray the day before i put it into flower & it works
ive never tried revegging a sprayed plant though that will be interesting to hear about.

hey guys, I have a small problem here. I tried to make a colloidal silver solution but it did not work at all... I did not get any precipitation or any kind of reaction... the silver sticks just got darker. I left the current to run overnight (used 11V and 6V adapters). But nothing....
Is it normal? I noticed in the pictures that one of the sticks is ruined after the treatment, does it happen everytime and it is just for one time to use? Thank you guys.

hi oister welcome wire looks bit thin to me but you never know personally id spend bit more and get something you know will work

as for storing it theres plenty of differant ways just google "storing male pollen" will come up with tonnes of answers

Thanks to all people contributing in this wonderful thread. It was great lecture.

Thinking about fiminizing AF strains (only few posts in this thread, but I don't believe noone tried), and regarding to that I got some questions, to experienced CS users: What happens when CS is applied on male plant?

- Does male plant stressed with CS produce less polen than normal male plant and will hardly 'throw it out' by herself like female plants do after high CS doses? Or maybe the speed and amount isn't that much changed like in female plants?

- what about the speed of producing pollen/flowers (compared to female plants)?

- using CS on male plants will will we create masculinized pollen?

- Is there any other way to indicate which of the AF plants was female in veg period?

on ebay theres some silver coins but it says " 1 troy oz .999 silver " is this good to make colloidal silver im kind of confused that it says 1 troy oz.
