picked this up as a free seed. very strong plant so far. back in the day i use to hear this stuff was difficult to dry and cure without it tasting "grassy". even serious seeds mentions it. should i dry the s$%t out of it and then try to get some wet back into it when i cure? anyone out there grown this strain? don't mind hearing the good or the bad. opinions welcome!

try putting apple peels on your screen or in the bags when dried, they will soak up the apple smell.

you could do it with any fruity fruit, pinapple cores, mango skins...

use a clearing solution that has an added nice smell to it, they are available in your hydro store...

running this 100% organic. LC mix and feeding teas. does a clearing solution really help in this situation? thanks for your input.

I grow Chronic. My plant produces rock-hard flowers. In terms of drying and curing, I haven't found anything different; it's like any other strain. Use the curing method that works for you. I use a hygrometer to gauge the humidity inside the container. The product cures out to state that's almost like red wine (best way I can describe it) - a lot of body and a very deep, complex smell. The stone is powerful, but fairly one-sided. Good luck.

FWIW, the pruning thread in my sig shows the Chronic plant.

never really used any clearing solutions so i don't know anything about them. read a bottle of botanicare clearex and the only thing on the label is 4.5% sugars (glucose and fructose). what else is in there? and how do they work? links or explanations anyone?

It's really that bad? It looks dank from pics Maybe you have to find the right pheno. You would think Serious stuff is pretty good, right? That pheno is very hard to find? Come to think of it I haven't heard of any Chronic pheno, time to do some research.

I can't speak from personal experience but I've seen alot of chronic grows, everyone of them said the smoke was dank BUT it needed a good cure, just like simon said earlier i heard the quality and smell of the bud drasticly improves for each week in curing.. There is a chronic pheno people talk about, the one with the insanely big and dene buds, I've seen it pretty often, think it's a 20% (?) ratio atleast from the serious stock, but I mean, chronic is a big yileder in general so you wont be dissapointed if you end up with the normal one.. nice grow btw simon!

i took a quick read of this and id guess your high on chronic, weve all been there, try mexi commerical next time it will get you high enough to take advice.

Herein lies the problem. You don't grow, yet you're trying to give advice to growers. It's just silly.

Hey toke, at least you're not taking your hate/anger out by shooting up a school, just trolling grow forums (when clearly you do not have the capability to follow your dreams, and are jealous of the people who actually have the means/ambition to grow)

So... To everyone else..

I've done chronic outdoors at 49 lat in a very humid environment with good success and very little work/oversight. Lost ~10-15% of total product to mold with no effort in staking plants up. Very heavy yielder as suggested with its NL lineage. Onset of flowers began ~2nd week of August, and I chose to harvest October 8th.

Dried outside for 9 days (50f/60-70%RH) at the same location plants were grown. Upon transport, stems were pretty brittle with a "crack" sound when snapped. Final product had the standard skunk/pine smell to it, with the aroma of fresh grown outdoor. Maybe this is the "hay" smell people seem to associate with? I've always enjoyed the smell of outdoor..

Final smoke was good, not great (a little harsh), but I think that's entirely due to my lackluster effort in maintaining my plot. I visited my site every other week from June 17th-October 8th to feed additional Lucas formulas/AN Mother Nature (flower) teas, as I only preloaded holes with standard potting soil, perlite, polymer crystals, ewc, and bat guano. I was surprised to get the final product I did considering.

Chronic for me is the definition of cash crop/commercial. Easy to grow, can handle high nute levels, and provides fat quality nugs (avg. nug being ~1.5g, biggest upwards of 3-4gs). When people see the size of the buds this girl produces its easy to get rid of.

Most people overlook the most crucial (imo) final steps to great quality herb..

1. Flush (The step that was hard for me to predict/control)
2. Dry
3. Cure

Mess up on just one of these steps, and your final product will suffer.

Anywhere you put this plant, it's going to yield. And anything from Serious Seeds is going to be a top notch plant that has all the qualities a grower wants.
