Hey all, my first official post in here. I'm in the great state of cali, MMJ certified, and ready to grow the good stuff.
I'm preparing for my second grow, this time i want it to be a little nicer (first one was run-n-gun fluoros w/5 bagseed plants in closet...fun but kinda messy.) I'm taking my time with designs, as I want to do it right, and am setting aside a little $ every paycheck to complete it. So I'll use this thread for any questions I have for the entire grow.
First off, gonna get this dresser:

dimensions are WxDxH 27.5" x 15.75" x 28.125". its small, but I only need to SCROG one heavy indica...plus I dont smoke too much, only some nights when my anxiety/insomnia is exceptionally bad.
Stealth is MAJOR here...so I'm gonna get this exhaust fan:

and set it up with the carbon filter exactly how Bulenath did it here.
lighting will be a 150w HPS, currently looking at the sunsystem 150w from hg, but debating whether itd be better to buy a cheaper security light and make it remote ballast to better control heat.
I've been doing research for the past ~6months and have a pretty good understanding on how to SCROG and what not...but I have a few specific questions relating to this specific application.
1) will 12" be enough space between the screen and light to fully complete the grow? I'm sticking with indicas mostly. if you figure a 4" pot and ~3" space between pot and screen at bottom and the 6"fan with 3"carbon filter and 1" space above it on the top, that only leaves ~11-12" for plant growth above screen. yikes?
2) I want to maintain some amount of negative pressure (i think...) because its crucial that no smells escape. for booty call reasons (u know how that goes) i want to keep it private. So with that 4" exhaust fan, on the vent 101 page it says to have 2x the exhaust for passive intake...but on other pages it says that doing 2x would eliminate negative pressure and put you at risk for leaky smells. How big should I make these holes then? I'm pretty newb-fused...
3) I was thinking about growing DrAtomics NL5, but they only sell in packs of 10 regular seeds...would it be possible to grow it outside the screen, sex it, and if its female take it back to veg and THEN put it under the screen? or should I just stick with cloning... I'd hate to stick a male seed in there and go through all that hassle for some pollen balls.
