Agree to disagree here. Things are pretty lax in CA with 215, if "we" refers to Californians. I don't know who the "we" is you have referenced. If we referenced all growers, I would suggest that the best thing is a 215 style legislation for each state. If we references all smokers, recreational, then yes, tax/regulate is the only viable option. If we references commercial interest, then you are spot on.

I think this is our major point of disagreement--
When I say "we"...I mean all of us...smokers, dealers, growers....and even squares!!
Because, Smokers are the number 1 thing in this whole equation...without them, there would be no growers or dealers-- # 2 is the small, personal grower, they are the next in line for protection...as they are not making $$ from it--
We (Now I mean the Growers and Dealers) need to do what is best for them first....and adapt to the change--
Trust me, I am smack dab in the middle of MMJ....and I grow on a pretty large basis....but I also know, whatever happens, I can adapt, and still make $$....but without all the risk involved with continued Prohibition--
I am also covered every way possible with 215...but I know...if LEO walks into our 6000 sq ft Greenhouse....they are gonna say, "Oh...fuck you!!" and arrest me--
I want it Legal....and I am willing to change how I do things...if I have to, in order to get this peace of mind--:tiphat:

If you are think you will be allowed to grow a 6000 ft greenhouse under a proposition like 19 you are mistaken. Let's look ahead at a CA if 19 had passed. Some will be able to grow that size in CA, those who can pay the highest auction price for the permits, those with CA lobby money. These same CA commercial pot growers will fund efforts to stop people like you, and keep your property at 5x5 or 10x10. But their other goal will be to ban you from the CA market. I want national medical mj, even if that is limited to pharma-cannabis in states without their own MMj laws. I want national recreational cannabis. And I want national hemp. I also want national legal personal cultivation. These are separate issues and our lumping together is self-defeating.

agreed. he sets the respectful tone for us all.

I understand that, but I also believe it would have laid the groundwork for amendments...which would have given us a head start, because I still think it will be that way-- Have to start small...or the General Public will reject it--

Mostly because I am a slow typer...so I actually THINK about what I say....hahaha...wish it was like that in real life!!:biglaugh:

I just wish either camp would come out with something for us to pick apart and discuss. No matter what it is only a matter of time until CA gives it's adult citizens the right to smoke the ganja, we are just that cool.

that's just not true. There was nothing about auctions or permits not to mention senator ammiano proposed a $5k cap on commercial liscensing permits. Prop 19 would have done alot of good, obviously not for you small fry growers slanging your overpriced under quality smoke, but people like me and kmk were pretty damn excited about the possibility of moving our trade in to a 100% legit marketplace

wow, that's funny you assume my herb is crap. actually... i tested in the top 5 for the variety I grow in terms of THC. i just don't grow a lot, or want to. I'l take 4 from the dispensary for a pound here and there, thank you.

I don't want to pass a messed up prop and hope mr ammiano's amendments pass immediately to fix it. What I say about permits restrictions is VERY true, especially in other states, look at MMj in NJ. If we are doing this to set the precedent, let's at least think about the details. 19 was a butter-face proposition. Good from a distance, ugly up close. I hope to see something better, but plan to see something worse.

people like to make things up to make their points..
there was a "professor" that went by the name "matt rize" (mattress) that dude got banned for being a lying prick...
this cat reminds me of him...
just makes shit up...

remember he told us he sat down with Mr. Lee and lee confessed the only reason for 19 is Lee hates home growers.
i like intelligent discourse...
but if you have to make shit up and play fake ignore games you have zero credibility.

Amen to that pipe-dream ... cannabis, legal like beer.

Prop 19 was written by a select few growers, to favor a select few growers -- everyone else, not so much. This was it's fatal flaw, which may well be repeated in 2012.

The speed with which the Powers That Be have begun trying to put the 215/420 toothpaste back into the toothpaste tube after the defeat of Prop 19 is amazing. A powerful minority is using repressive regulatory powers in conjunction with ramped up raids to overturn the will of the majority of the people. IMHO, any new CA voter referendum must backfill the rights of the MMJ community, while also re-legalizing cannabis in a way that is beneficial to the good of the greatest number -- not the select few.

Hey, great post. Don't mind that dag guy, he still walks with slight limp from his prison days.

2012 will bring two options for CA. The CCHH 2012 and whatever Lee puts out. CCHH is written for "us" and will never pass. Lee's prop will be written from big business, and has a real chance.

if im reading right your saying 19's failure emboldened the LEO and tee totalers to attack 215/420?
this was a fear i had as well.
i could be misreading the quote though?

So it was a lose lose situation?

Either pass what you don't want, or we take back what you have.

I'm falling all over myself to vote in anything before we don't have any freedom.... oh wait...

:jerkit: is cute but the truth is what it is..
there is and will be a repressive backlash against 215 as a result.
you are astute enough to understand the machinations of the real prohibitionists (notice ive stopped using the term as a jab).
they have spun 19 failing as a victory already and any further failures will only encourage them more....
for what?
the hypothetical worst case scenario of 19 is better than an attack on 215...

Let's hurry up and vote for anything then!!

Quick... before ze Germans get here!!!

:headbange

not quite...
i (and most other supporters) read contemplated and decided on 19.
weighed the pros and cons and decided the pluses outweighed the hypothetical worst case scenarios bandied about by the nay sayers...

but you suggesting we never considered it and were just bandwagonering is on par with my calling any oppositionist a prohibitionist...
lets elevate?

The fact that the bill could have been altered without a vote by the people is a showstopper.

19 blew and you know it.

Let's elevate.
