60 hrs and change!
getting easier by the day.
hardest part for me is going into my garage.
that was the only place i was allowed to smoke indoors (ciggs or weed)
so everytime i go in there to blaze, it gets a lil trying.
but i keep telling myself, it's for the kids..........

no problem. i quit 6 months ago. cold turkey. like a man, not like a bitch.

you're very welcome.

good luck.

Great that you gave up. :jump:
Not great that you come into this with the attitude of a Neanderthal sexist moron who seems to think it acceptable to use the term 'bitch' as a common name for women? :ying:
Hehe, maybe it's ok where you live but I suspect it's not really OK anywhere.:ying:
Facing an addiction and facing giving up by cold turkey or any other means, is nothing to do with being a man. Nothing to do with being a BIG, MACHO, TOUGH MAN...:bashhead:
It's more mental than physical is what you seem to be saying so, in that case women would be better at giving up than men?
Whatever the case, they aren't dogs.
Anyway I'm a smoker and a man and I gave up once too. I smoke now again but we al have our reasons for the things we do in life. It can NEVER be shortened down to a huge generalisation that suits all: 'Man up and give it up!' is just not going to suit everyone...:blowbubbles:

This is a great thread. I quit smoking cigarettes several years ago with the help of mary jane. I doubt I could have done it without it, it was so great to at least be able to smoke something. Good luck to everyone who is trying to quit, and don't ever give up trying.

Super groovy guide :)

I read it someplace else but it looks better here :blowbubbles:

:wave: Thanks man! I agree it looks better here, there was this dude at the other place that would ask the same fucking questions about giving up over and over again  he wanted it to be MY fault that he didn't quit. :moon: Too many fooking kids at that place.

lmao my daughter actually wants a pony!
but i won't do it, i'll be the one following him around the apartment with a shovel all day long, not her!

buddy of mine wanted to quit so we replaced the packs with joints cause his fix of going to the pack was just as strong as smoking itself...

If I had an eighth to 7 grams a day of high quality bud and some benedryl I would have no desire to do hard drugs like cigs, opiates, alcohol none of it..

Nice dude, respect.. I'm like a day behind you I think, today is day 24 for me. :dance013:

Been smoking tobacco for around 17 years..

I was already on the path to quitting when I stumbled across this thread.. it gave me the final little kick over the edge I needed, I think.:thank you:

Because I'm from the UK, I grew up mixing tobacco in my joints, so my addiction to nicotine developed around my weed habit. I smoked lots of cigarettes to fill the gap when a joint wasn't socially acceptable.. the rest of the time I would be getting a slow, steady intake of nicotine from my constant spliff toking. I tried to quit a couple of years ago, with nicotine gum etc, but I don't think I was ready. It was going to take a bit more commitment to change my habits and the way I use weed..

This time was different, as I mentally made quitting something to look forward to.. breaking free of tobacco.. enjoying life without it.. enjoying WEED without it.. It's been difficult at times, but mostly I've been loving it, and looking forward to a future without that crap in my life any more.:jump:

I got through the inital cravings with some hardcore chain-smoking of pure joints - they didn't touch the sides at first, and I must have burnt about 2oz in that first 5 days or so (that's ridiculous consumption for me). Now I'm over it, almost, I'm smoking a handful of joints a day, and I'm probabaly back to consuming roughly the same amout of bud I was pre-quit.

I also took the opportunity during quitting tobacco to start replacing a lot of my joint consumption with vaporising. It's been fun getting into that a bit, finding out about the different devices that are available, buying a couple and trying them out, etc - it's made even more of a novelty of quitting tobacco, and has been a welcome distraction from cravings, and the old habits I wish to break. It's also given me an excuse to expand my glass collection a bit too..

Little tip - joints rolled with vaped bud remains have a "toasted" taste that is somewhat similar to cigarettes.

Whilst this may sound disgusting to the majority of you, it got me through a few moments. Also, mixing about 70% weed 30% vaped weed made for throat-tickling joints which fooled my brain enough to satisfy a few nicotine cravings along the way. Might come in handy if anyone else in the UK/Europe is thinking of quitting..

Somewhere, in a not so distant future...

Patient: Ummm... Doctor, I need a recommendation for Medical Marijuana.

Doctor: What seems to be the problem? Your perfectly healthy, and if you can quit smoking you would be in excellent health.

Patient: I agree, I've read some very serious articles online about quiting smoking by substituting Medical Marijuana until my cravings subside... I may have to keep the Recommendation just in case I get a cig craving at any time in the future.

Hahahah... Seriously though, Weed could help a lot of people quit. I used to use weed in the cigarette tubes, with the little plastic sliding cig maker. that could help with the whole visual.. even put them in a pack to start off... slowly eliminate all of the little habits.

I QUIT SMOKING TOBACCO BACK IN THE 70'S WHEN CIGS HIT A BUCK A PACK. THE WAY I DID IT WAS EVERY TIME I WANTED A SMOKE I ROLLED A DOOB, AFTER THE FIRST THREE DAYS I WAS WELL ON THE WAY TO THE NEXT 40 YEARS TOBACCO FREE. SMELL BETTER TOO!!!
