It is an old quote...
I have never worked on or with anyone trying to make any genetics hard to clone, that is ridiculous. Nor would I ever.
-SamS

Hi Sam,
I merely related the quote from Dr.Mecholam.

Is it all BS that your work was funded by those wanting to see "dutch genetics" hard to clone and sterile when it comes to reproduction? If so then I apologize

That being said... I've admired your work for many many many many years... and I hope to admire it for many more..

I didn't "read that GW is doing GM", I said that's what it "looks like" to me. I obviously don't have access to Sativex info like you do, so my lack of understanding on their inner-workings is to be expected. If i am wrong, and it is not GMO, I stand corrected.

Your lack of understanding is not hard considering you read that GW is doing GM in the statement, I know that it is not true, they use classical breeding methods, no GM, your fears are blinding you to the truth.
-SamS

So to be clear you are against developing medicines from Cannabis including different delivery forms? Even if it will help patients that don't want herbal Cannabis or brownies, but will use an government approved registered medicine?
-SamS
Absolutely and without question...the powers that be already use the excuse that there are viable alternatives in the treating of illness, hence the legalization of canna is not needed. Sativex will be yet another, and more convincing reason for the powers that be, and the ignorant to oppose the free access to a plant.

I have about 6 different delivery systems that I use for my canna, and they all work well...no need to pay exorbitant amounts for a pharmaceutical company to make a preparation that I can duplicate in my kitchen for pennies.

If anyone thinks for a minute that GW Pharmaceuticals is going to allow all of their return on investment to be eliminated by people cultivating and formulating their own cannabis medicines, then I have a bridge I would like to talk to you about purchasing....Sativex is a direct threat to the legalization movement, and all need to see it as such.

Maybe,
But what if you are wrong and when Sativex is legal in the USA, it helps to remove laws against Cannabis for medicine, it will be hard for the government to say herbal Cannabis has no medical use, when Sativex, a full plant extract is used as a medicine.

in Canada we have Cesamet pills a pharmacutical mj replacement. but I believe it is synthetic. I have personally taken it and all I got was a headache, honest truth.
you're probally getting something similar
What is Cesamet?

Cesamet is a man-made form of cannabis (marijuana is an herbal form of cannabis). It has many effects on your central nervous system.
Cesamet is used to treat severe nausea and vomiting that is caused by cancer chemotherapy. It is for use only when other medications have been unable to control the nausea and vomiting.
Cesamet may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.
Important information about Cesamet

Cesamet may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Cesamet should never be given to another person, especially someone who has a history of drug abuse or habitual marijuana use. Keep the medication in a secure place where others cannot get to it. Do not use Cesamet if you have ever had an allergic reaction to natural or man-made marijuana.
Before taking Cesamet, tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, a history of mental illness or drug addiction, or if you are also using other medicines that can affect your central nervous system, such as a tranquilizer, sleep medicine, or anti-psychotic medications.
Use this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not use it in larger amounts or for longer than recommended by your doctor.
Avoid using other medicines that affect the central nervous system (such as stimulants, diet pills, cold medicine, pain medication, muscle relaxers, and medicine for seizures, depression, anxiety, mental illness, or Parkinson's disease). These other drugs can add to the effects of Cesamet.
Cesamet causes effects that will impair your thinking or reactions. Do not drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert until the effects of Cesamet wear off.
There are many other medicines that can add to the side effects of Cesamet. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter medications you use. This includes vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not start using a new medication without telling your doctor.

Exactly.

Man made.

I don't want to support that kind of thinking and really give the system something to say "We don't need cannabis"

They need things exactly like it though....

Geoffrey Guy said once in an interview that Sativex only works for 40% of the patients, so what about the other 60%.It's great that there is a full cannabis extract back on the market, but the price is extremely high about CAD$ 124.95 / €91.75 per vial and it depends how many vials you need per month. When it is not fully insured, well you need a fortune to buy your medicine.

Sure they have to earn back their research costs, but it is cheaper to grow and make your own medicine like many patients already do.
Not all cannabis on the illegal market has only THC as main cannabinoid. There are still varieties on the market with a combination of THC & CBD.

Frankly, in all honesty, Cannabis itself is expensive.. 200 a zip if you are lucky.. how long does a zip last? At least you have a chance of insurance picking up a pharmacutical.

The fella aboves note on Sativex and the PTB using it as another excuse to deny the plant... is dead on.. least here in the States.. I've heard that crap about Marinol spewed by PTB... You don't need Cannabis you have Marinol... Hell Oregon tried to get an initiative on the ballot a year or two ago, mandating the state PAY FOR MARINOL but RE-OUTLAWING Medical Cannabis.. Like marinol can replace cannabis... for that matter.... Skunk #1 can't replace purple erkle nor the other way around.... NEED EM BOTH!!!

I don't agree with you.People makes Cannabis expensive, but the plant itself is quite cheap to produce. When you're fully insured and you still have to pay $600 a month for your Cannabis medicine, how do you think you have to finance those costs when you're chronic ill.You just can't effort that.

Cannabis is already here.

Why do we have to hand evil companies more honor with our dignity?

Cannabis was rescheduled... only long enough for some synthetics to be developed... and then it was rescheduled AGAIN.

Really smooth.... nobody noticed.

Now nobody can tell they're hypocrites.

Stick to poisoning people Pharma... I've got my own grass thank you very much.

Gosh, Gotta love this guy. Bump. Thanks MMM

I can attest to MMj in its current flower and hash forms relieving the pain of a quadriplegic man who had been in pain for 15 years straight. The shakes of a MS patient, almost instant relief. The smell of raw or cured un-burnt DJ Blueberry relieved my mom's pain and nausae while in the late stages of cancer. It was the only thing that helped. I could go on all day about the efficacy of home-made Cannabis medicine. We have been using hash medicines for A LONG TIME. This was all with home-made Cannabis medicine. I am not saying pharma doesn't have a place, but it's not until the very end.

Not just any people, elmanito, it is the despicable politicians perpetuating prohibition that makes fine herb expensive...My meds are pretty cheap, as I use the great outdoors as much as possible, but...It would be a hell of a lot cheaper if I was not cowering in fear of the man swooping down and destroying all that I have worked for in my life...

Sorry Sam, I just dont see the logic in a high priced, whole cannabis extract coming from a pharmaceutical company. The freedom to grow and select what we need, without restriction, is the kind of cure we need. I would like to think that you may be right, but I cant. I have heard too many times from the politicians of my region that I dont need medical canna, because there are plenty of other viable alternatives...completely ignoring the fact that their viable alternatives nearly killed me. These people cannot be trusted with our freedom, and Sativex will be just one more arrow in their quiver to use against the re-legalization of canna.

Can you honestly say that GW Pharma will be happy to see the freedom bestowed upon the people to cultivate their own?

real talk. agree with the first part. second part: not a chance.

the people vs corporations will exist as long as corporations are legally considered people. Corporate intent by design is to make as much money as possible, but specifically more profits than the last year. More and more, never enough. This is for the shareholders and ceo giant bonuses. Corporations are not people, and never will be. They should not have the same protections as you or I.

The more control and money we can put back into the peoples' hands the better. Corporations already control 95+% of the world. All the people have left is MMj in CA.

As a California citizen you can go to any doctor and ask for medical cannabis. Instead of prescribing you some BS pharma, they give you the right to grow your own medicine, or buy it in any* form from any/all collectives. These collectives are mainly supplied by small and medium sized farms. This medicine is lab screened for safety and potency. This is how it should be. Throw your pharma-pills away and make your own organic hash oil capsules.

*flowers, dry screen, ice water extract, butane, CO2 extract, O2 extract, Delta 9 dry ice, edibles, tinctures, salves, suppositories, ect ect

post edit: the dispensary I go to has medicatd sex oil... :dance013: if you ask the right person.

Hmmmm...I am sitting here thinking about that one...I guess if you are a 30 second man, it may be of help?

It all comes down to, for me at least, the continual separation of Man from the plants that sustain him...we are losing the tradition of plant medicine, which sustained our cultures for milenia, simply to bolster THE most profitable industry in the world.

She was into it enough to request it. It has yang-lang, or something like that, in it to stimulate the senses. :dance013:

Agreed. Making your own medicine can be easy and cheap. Thanks for joining the IC.

I don't see any change in Canada, actually the opposite. It's harder to get a license from Health Canada nowadays and even raids are increasing.

Sativex is expensive meds!!! the people that make $$$ from it need hanging and composting! Simple! **** them!

They are NOT producing meds that can be easy accessed by ill people ,, it's like a 'faux pas' ,, because the price tag is way to high for the average person and the 'content' has been totally negotiated! (by Nazis and the gardeners that work with them!)

When you were a kid your Granny made homemade dumplings. Today Aunt Bessie sells the equivalent! It may be shit but people still buy and eat it!

Having medi-friends that cannot afford the magic spray in a bottle ,, well that seriously annoys us..!

One love!
