Hi guys, ive recently been thinking about buying a good vaporizer for health reasons and because its advertised that you can get a bigger hit, is this true? What are the pro's and con's to a vaporizer?

I know one con that many consider a pro,you dont get a ton of smoke and gag like a maggot.I've been gagging for decades now and when I tried a vape,I didn't like it

Yeah

My problem with Vapes is that I am so used to having that "burn and cough" feeling from smoking, I do not tend to find vape hits that satisfying

That being said, I would normally be baked out of my tree, hitting the vape numerous times to get that burn feeling

I can sometimes prevent this by turning the vape higher

the vape definitely gives you a bigger hit because your inhaling the vapors. No tar, very little plant molecules, mostly thc vapor. I suggest you try a vaporizer out before you go and by one.... for me I like it, I just had to get over the taste issues.

I found filling my lungs to the max with vape gets me right where I want to be, after I stop coughing and my eyes stop watering. I guess it all comes down to personal preference.

you can get huge hits. proper technique with a good vape is needed for best results.

I can get pretty much thick as smoke vapor from my extreme. it doesn't burn your throat or give you that slight headache smoke does, which is what some people seemingly need. esp cig-smokers IME.

here is a nice thick hit of vapor. to me, the taste is the main reason to get a vape. it is unbelievable with the right strain.

go to fuckcombustion.com for info on vapes

edit: I always vape at 175C or lower, high temps taste not as good

cranking the vape up too high kind of defeats the purpose... The point is that there is only enough heat to vaporize the THC so you don't inhale all the other impurities... If you crank it up and you get that thick white smoke you are just burning all the crap the vape was supposed to leave out hence the burning feeling

That's kind of like asking can you drink more beer from a pint glass or a two quart pitcher...

Regardless of the type of piece, as long as there is a substantial amount of herb in it I can take a huge hit :D

i will offer my experience also. i have tried 4 or 5 vaporizers ranging from $30 hotbox style to the 500 volcano. in my opinion the volcano is a an overpriced piece of shit, easily bested by the 30 dollar hotbox. that being said, the de-verdamper produced in holland is the vaporizer perfected. in my opinion of course. it warms up in about 3 mins. you can leave it on for months without hurting anything, i almost never turn mine off. not much chance a 12v resistor will go bad, and the heating element is a metal coil. there is no temperature adjustment, doesn't need it trust me. it is the only vape i have seen with water filtration, and most important the air intake is adjustable. this makes it easy for people with breathing problems to increase the air to vapor ratio, or vis versa. in short you can take large bong sized hits of vapor, or open the intake a little and get a less dense hit. they are abit hard to find. you can get one direct from the manufacturer de-verdamper.nl or at greenharvest.ca. i have had mine for almost two years, and consider it something i would need for survival if stuck on an island. some coffee shops in amsterdam have them for use.

I see alot of mixed feedback. Not really sure what to do, if I do buy one it will be a cheap one to see if I like it first.

If you buy a cheap one I'm pretty sure you won't like it...

The only vapes I've used that I liked were damn expensive :badday:

it's not necessary true you won't like a cheap vape. in fact in my experience it is a bit of a toss up. example, had i bought a volcano i wouldn't be near as pro vapor as i am. not that the volcano doesn't preform well, it can with some tweeking and technique. however for 500 dollars i was not impressed at all. before i tried a volcano i had only tried cheaper vaporizers, some i liked others not so much. the biggest problems i have found with most vaporizers is the lack of a large hit, and time between taking hits. that being said the only cheap vaporizer that impressed me was the stone hot box style that comes with a whip mouthpiece like a hooka. i don't know the brand, just that it was purchased off ebay for 30 dollars. if i had to buy a cheapy, this is the route i would take. if you have the funds though a verdamper is what you need. it will pay for itself in short order, because of how much longer herb lasts. good luck with you decision.

If you geta volcano you can get the biggest hit you want, you measure out the bags yourself, you could make it 100m long if you wanted...

Vaporizers are for people that like to taste inhaling weed, without the carcinogens

If you just want a 'big hit' go make a bucket bong or something?

I bought a volcano & have probably saved my self hundreds if not thousands of $ as it stretches your weed out incredibly
