"you go on believing what THEY tell you to believe. you keep living your life as a mushroom...in the dark and fed shit. you're obviously going to be happier in fantasy land. I'll continue to do my OWN thinking and we'll see who's better off in the end. (I'm retired at 42 and own outright EVERYTHING, I have no bills and I grow/smoke all day...tell me about your life...and who is "smarter"...the proof is in the pudding)"

So you're retired, alone, and have an unlimited supply of weed. Gosh.. I want your life man..

Lol, you remind me of that wackjob from the movie 2012.
Uh-oh, I referred to a Hollywood movie in order to further my personal agenda.. I must be a sheep. :jump:

Who's going to be better off in the end? What kind of a statement is that? That's something not even YOU can answer.
I sure as hell wouldn't want to die at the age of 50 from stress related complications, worrying about how everyone else in the world runs their lives.

If you really were retired at the age of 42, owned all that you have, and truly cared about the world, you would be doing a lot more than what you are.

Maybe we're not the only ones who need a reality check.

Man that telescope is nice...I have been wanting one too. I've never even looked through one before.

I watched the episode earlier where they talked about mining asteroids! I was blown away.

I dig these kind of shows. I'm about to buy a Mead 8in Telescope to do my own universe searching. Can't wait.

Got my eyes on this bad boy.

Do you have any experience with telescopes and stargazing? Because besides looking at the moon...IMO, there's not much to see. The rings of saturn, Jupiters moons...a few blurry/fuzzy nebula...and the rest are just points of light.

If you haven't yet...try one first to be sure you want to spend all that money on one. In fact, most places have an astronomy club...go to a meeting some night and talk to them.

If you are experienced...forget everything I've said...you already know it.

So you're retired, alone, and have an unlimited supply of weed. Gosh.. I want your life man..

You probably DO want my life...where did the ALONE part come from? Who said that? Come by sometime, we'll burn one and go fishing in the pond. Maybe have some REAL discussions...here you'll get to use ALL the words and ALL the ideas you have are "acceptable". I won't call you names, throw you out, or kick your ass...just for what you believe. Like MOST people/places these days. We perpetuate lies because we're too afraid to face reality.

Well...since I retired at 42 and I'm now 52, I've had 10 wonderful years to enjoy LIFE...not the view from a cubical...so IF I die tomorrow or the world ends tomorrow...whom had the better life?

see that's it...I DON'T worry...I don't HAVE to worry. I call my own shots! I'm trying to HELP you guys...unplug you from the matrix. They are right..."no good deed goes unpunished"...here I am trying to give you another way to look at things and I'm treated like a leper! I try to tell you that you're being lied to and played like a fiddle...and people turn on me like I'm a monster.

you do whatever you want...you believe whatever you want. I'll be relaxing, puffing on a fattie...laughing at you...hell, I already am! I don't have the motivation to do more than talk to you people...was I already lazy or was it the Cannabis? Who knows, who cares? I also don't want to be treated like Assange...the wikileaks guy. The truth is DANGEROUS to them.

Just wait...since the wikileaks thing, governments are trying to CENSOR the WWW. Yup, just like China...the US now wants to be able to "block dangerous sites". EVERYTHING is being slowly stripped from you and you don't realize it. you ARE a frog in slowly boiling water!

We ALL need a reality check...I do it daily. The sooner you realize that rich guys call ALL the shots for THEIR benefit...the sooner you'll wake up and take control of your own destiny.

good luck to you...really...

Have none of you heard of the scientific method?

If you have a better way to understand the universe, I'd love to hear it.

Religion teaches in absolutes, you have to get away from that mentality. We don't have all the answers, how could we possibly? The universe is huge, complex, and we only evolved to survive on a single speck of dust.

Science demands that we consider the crazy, but never cling to anything as an absolute. Besides math, 1+2 still equals potato!

Actually I think you might see it that way, but are you speculating on something you have not experienced? It might have one absolute involved(god) and I understand how that can be detering, but I am also pretty sure the bible also teaches exactly what you said, that we dont know everything and to always have an open mind, however faith is important as well.

I used to try my best to have an open mind and never be absolute so I get you argument and used to subscribe to it entirely. Anyway hope you keep an open mind about stuff :tiphat:

I as well dig these kind of shows, and checked out this series after I saw this post.

GOOD GOD, is this series is presented with heavy handed melodrama. The information is mind boggling, like everything in Cosmology, but do they have to bring everything back to how standing next to a Blazar will fry the eyeballs out of your skull, let alone destroy the planet?

No shit Sherlock. A brilliant series undermining itself by going for shock value at every turn. The Universe: XXtreme Edition!!! Donk-donggg!

For those of you interested in these kind of things, here is link to some citizen science, where lay people use their computers to sort out the vast amounts of data gathered by Nasa's ever increasing array of telescopes.

So not only can you use your computer to advance the cause of marijuana cultivation, you can use it to advance our knowledge of the universe!
