Cop shots and kills deaf wood carver

how come neighborhoods aren't armed to the teeth to protect themselves against pieces of shit like this? if a cop wants to come in and take someone from a hood, they gotta go through the neighborhoods leaders or face violent feedback..plain and simple, it keeps everyone in check...if a neighbor fucks up, its up to the hood to take out the needed justice or refer to outside authority.

Yes, first aid is in there, but the order tends to follw;
1. Officer safety(radio protocol, etc)
2. Public Safety
3. Restraints
and then 4. Administer first aid.

There is the problem...
Why is the cops safety put before Public safety??
He should not have shot at all!! What if one of his misses or exit rounds hit someone else??
He has a club...that seems more than enough to disarm an old man with a small pocket knife--
There mare no excuses for this!!

Ay budlover that video you put up is some pretty graphic ish im surprised it's up on youtube. I mean you can actually hear the nam vet scream "motherfucker" and then the final killshot (through the right eye), followed by the gasp/last breaths of the officer. That's crazy ish but i cant help but think if he would not have taken that first shot or even better, if he had restrained him properly after the behavior the vet was exhibiting at first then he would not have been killed. But pertaining to the the poor wood carver... i feel the cop should be charged with capital murder but that's just my 2 cents.

ps you can actually hear the fear in the cops voice while the vet was prancing around.... crazy ish man

Yeah i see what you was trying to do and I commend you for it. Trying to show it from all angles instead of coming into something with a one track mind. I'm telling you though that wood carver situation was pretty bad though and does little to help the cops cause but I genuinely believe that for the most part cops aren't bad people. It's just that the day to day situations that arise can put lots of stress on someone. Not everyone can be a cop you know and I respect them for that but personally I feel that the screening process, awareness of a "soon to be" cop's mental aptitude, reactions in extremely stressful situations, training, etc.... could be ALOT more scrupulous and a bit more clinical for someone who was about to join law enforcement.

Then again you also have malicious crooked mofos on the force too... just like you have innocent people behind bars or pushin up daisies

....because they crossed one of these crooked mofos.

There were some strange questions on the tests and the thing that got me was they were simply asking me. The same questions were asked multiple times in different forms to see if I was being honest. It also included an IQ test.
I have an old friend that seems like he'd be the perfect cop, white, cocky, etc...
But once you get to know him you see that he is an extreme racist.
He took the tests a couple times and got rejected both times, which is good, he would have made a good cop IMO, but he would have been hell on the minorities.
He talked about how they asked the same questions differently over and over

No, not on sight :) They do train that ANYTHING in the hands is a potential weapon. Some more lethal than others. I never saw a folded knife in the video. Witness statements said the knife was found folded afterwards. Not saying it went down like this, but a knife can fold when dropped.

As for having your weapon drawn, he followed proper officer safety protocol in drawing because the guy had a knife in his hand. You draw not to fire, but to be better prepared to fire. It just allows you to get closer than that 21' in a worst-case scenario(common practice is INCREASE the distance until the weapon is dropped).

@ddrew: Yes, this wasn't the first time that man was in a firefight. You can clearly tell by his actions. I almost didn't post the video because of it's brutality, but I chose to in order to just give a little different perspective on LEO encounters. That officer gave his life, I figure let it do SOME good.

Screw that reasonable crap you're spewing.I saw no one walking around being scared of a guy with anything that someone saw speculating dangerous.Look at the beginning of the video..Alot of people were walking around like a normal day.

The cop never gave his life...BullS*** and this is coming from a military family background person.

If someone didn't hear you..you get in front of them.Time wasn't a factor so the cop had all the time getting in front of him with a patrol car and asking for backup. He yelled out a few times and no one heard him.

Reasonable to shoot ? Not a chance!

Just thought of a new policy for the police that's not implemented.

"No celebrating-hi-fiving,Acting like cheerleaders is allowed after a shooting".

Everyone who acted like that in the video should be fired.

Leave it to the physiologist.
