Getting 1 Pound per plant outdoors

Past performance is no guarantee of future results.

And I've humped my ass many miles through the jungle to plant. In my opinion strain selection is the one of the most important things. The wrong strain in the wrong place is worthless. Next is the placement of the hole. A few hours less sun a day will crimp your harvest.

Every grower has their own way of doing things. What works for one will not work for all. And there is no right answer. We taylor our grows to what we think, and has worked for us in the past.

For a guerilla grower the most important thing is luck. There is so much that we have no control over. Please don't equate skill with luck. They are two different animals.

oldahole those are wise words you speak. hamstring, easy, Leroy Brown and others have provided helpful thoughts as well.

I apologize to trycomb for my negative remarks. Tasty asked a question that implied he didnt have a lot of hands on experience, so i gave him the easiest, least complicated, most straight forward method i know of: i had no idea it would create such animosity or that it would ellicit any disagreement. I was suprise and overreacted. I apologize to anyone else that may have been offended by my remarks.

My first grow was in 1969. I plowed and planted a 60 acre cornfield with 2000 mexican plants. Ive grown outdoor every year since that first grow and was just passing on what i have learned. Ive been sharing my growing experineces for many years, first at Overgrow and then here after OG went down. . My only motivation has been to help others avoid some of the mistakes i made and maybe learn something myself. Nothing more.

I want to add that rudeness wasnt always so prevalent on this forum and its appearance in the last year or 2 has resulted in many of our most knowledgeable members being hesitant to post their experiences or theyve left the site altogether. As thats happened, we se more and more indignance and sinicism and less and less experienced based wisdom..

Its hard to exaggerate disappointment. We had no knowledge whatsoever about the plants needs and were really just lucky that it requires a soil similar to that of corn.. There were no expereinced growers to ask for advice and the only seeds available were from mexi brick weed and it didnt finish here - needed 3 more weeks . It was the early 70's before the first hybrids showed up that would finish. Up untl then, the attempts to grow the seeds that were around - red/gold lumbo, Thai etc. failed.

I was thrilled a few years later when Mel franks and Ed rosenthal came out with a "How To" book, but much of the information in those first books were very wrong.

i understand and appreciate you were only trying to help. perhaps your assuming he wanted the easiest cheapest way to hope and squeak it by lead to the initial disagreement.

i think its great that you have been around and continue to help ppl, i was simply making sure the help was factual.

apology accepted.....just ordering more sensi star beans so i can personally document and prove you wrong. :blowbubbles:

FWIW... I did two sensi star fems last season, both didn't finish until end of October at 46n. Medium to Light yield, extremely strong smoke though... easy

You want to get as many colas as possible. Try getting 20 big ones first, there's an oz in each so that'd be over 16 Ozs and u got a lb.

Anybody pull over a pound with any Hybrids From Hell strains?

I would imagine it's doable/happened, just haven't come across anyone who's confirmed it.

Nice!

I would imagine with a big enough hole and some love those could get over 1lb easy.

I will find out!

ya the delahaze will yeild multi pounds..i was useing wrong nutrients and my plot with this one only got like 6hrs of direct sun..the new spot that im gonna use this year gets 10 hrs direct sun and the delahaze is for sure going into that spot bc its proved its self to me 3 years now useing shitty miracle grow soil and nutes..i will be useing happy frog and ocean forest this year along with neem/karnaja meal, neptune harvest sea weed,mychorazzie,ful-power,humix and cytoplus so i will exspect to get alot more from her this year..

great thread ...in my situation ,,no summer rain ..you can have the best soil money can buy and no water = no yield ...you can have crap soil but plenty of water and you'll get yield ...so , its ALL about water !

My hidden holes are 36 to 42 inches in diameter and about 18 to 20 inches deep...so about 65 to 80 gallons each...
Last summer, by early July, my girls were about 5 feet tall and 5 feet wide and each one was wanting about 6 to 8 gallons of water, every 2 or 3 days...

By mid-October, they each gave me 1 lb.+ , and the monster girl yielded more than 26 oz.
