What's new

A friend with weed's a friend indeed, but friends with seeds are better!

Couple more shots of the Chemchunk #1:

Now, I've been having issues with my cloning over the last few months. I can keep them alive in the domes for 6-8 weeks but often they will not root, even after that long. This has happened with strains I used to clone in 6 days flat, so I know it's not a genetics issue. I suspect my cloning gel has become inactive and so I recently went back to my old tried-and-true: Rootone powder. We'll see how that works going forward.

The point of that story is that I don't have a clone of #1. #2 and #3 were able to root, though #3 took 7 weeks and barely pulled through. If this one is indeed my keeper, I'll get to try out a reveg for the first time. Because she looks (and smells) incredible. :smoke:

i have gone to an extremely advanced cloning method...i'll try to keep the explanation simple...cut em,stick em in a glass of water, tap water is fine, then try to mostly forget about them, its been taking about a week for the first roots or at least nubs to show,a little superthrive or something of that nature helps but is unnecessary...

I grew up cloning garden cuttings that way, still do. I have some rosemary going right now in fact. Maybe it's time to go to that with cannabis as well. Given that I had a 100% success rate for more than a year and a half, though, I still have faith in my domes. I just need to fix whatever's changed.

i ended up tossing my dome, this method is so stupid easy it works for me,no more spraying or fussing with air flow,no aero cloner nonsense to deal with,no goopy gels...but cloning is one of those things where if you find a method that works for you,its good to stick with it...

Oh, my domes aren't much more maintenence-intensive than your glass of water method. Total no-tech cloning has been my method all along. It'll take some kind of major crisis for me to resort to crazy shit like bubble cloners or aero systems. ;)

Ok, I have a few updates tonight. First one is the zombie virus, which came down 4 or 5 days ago. Her chop-day photos:

This one is a serious keeper. Ultra-sticky herb. This would be an epic hash plant. This second run came out much better than the first, too. Welcome to the permanent collection, Zombie Virus. :tiphat:

Next up is Chemchunk #2. Nugs are very dense with nice purples going on all through them. Resin is very good and odor is strong. I have not tried it yet, it's just gone into the jar tonight.

Here she is right before the end:

And last but most assuredly not least... the Chemchunk #1. This one stings the nose and stinks up the whole room when I pull her out to water. She's hanging now, a massively chunky plant with more resin on it than I've really ever seen in person. Definite Deep Chunk traits on display here. I have no idea if she'd have gone purple in the flush as I've kept her well fed in preparation for a reveg.

I have an update on the Chemchunk... I thought I'd posted shots of the big fat one before she came down but I see that I haven't. I have those pics still, I will add them. What's really news, though, is that #1 - the super-resinous monster - smokes as good as she looks!

:dance013::jump::tiphat::thank you:

I threw her into reveg and this is what she's done so far:

No kidding... I often clone my seedplants a couple weeks into flowering so I have a regular stream of mild to full revegging clones, but I've never taken a mother to full term, harvested the top, and then revegged clones from the lower nodes. This is a first for me... and a resounding success so far! I had to tuck that top cluster back out of the light as it's already into the bulbs. After 60 days of flowering she was vegging out again in a week flat. Color me impressed, if I'd known it was this easy I'd never bother to clone seedplants at all! :smoke:

(Yeah, yeah, I know... it's not always this easy. I'm just sayin'. ;) )

one of my favorite cuts just wants to flower, even under 24/0 they still toss preflowers like crazy, takes them a spell to get back to veg for some reason, but on the other hand she does start cranking gobs of resin out almost as soon as you flip her to 12/12...
