Has anyone seen any retirement areas or homes that caters specifically to MMJ cannabis using / growing geriatric crowd?

Great business opportunity? Or am I just high ?

we've had this discussion before, Groovy Manor (Cheech n' Chong dialogue in Nice Dreams) has to be run by stoners to work, a perpetual garden on the premises with input from the residents, an activity center meant to keep us sharp, 2 large entertainment/media rooms, kitchen open 24/7, a resident doctor (Dr Feelgood) and nurses (hotties) would be needed. It could be run with very little outside/govt support based on social security pooling of the residents and sales of some cannabis to dispensaries.

10 residents w/med cards = a nice sized garden.
6 live in staff w/med cards = a bigger garden yet.
Live in staff to be age appropriate as the homes
next residents; 15-20 yrs down the road.

There would have to be a trade off of some salary for staff in consideration of the room & board provided plus uber garden potentials for their personal use.

INCOME:
10 X $900 social security (appx) per month is $9,000
a 16 person med card garden will provide one pound per week ($2,400) to sell to dispensaries = $10,000 per month.

just some round figures but w/appx $19,000 per month income a small facility could/would prosper. being a cannabis commune we might be exempt from federal programs but local counties have to provide all eligible residents medical needs they can't afford. there will probably be programs or benefits afforded to the elderly from utility companies etc.

I'll throw my social security in, lets do it.
I would have to be staff till I hit retirement age, but I'm not that far off.

I think it could be built. There is a neighbor hood in my city that is gated and the developer is very wealthy. Most of his family lives in there along with other people who get the head nod and the hand shake, you know, the people who he accepts as the type of people he wants living in there. The neighborhood has been only half full ever since I can remember, but there is always a new house being built, one or so at a time.

If there were a rich developer stoner, in a med state, or rich enough in a non med state, I think this could go over fairly well.

I call the idea Stoniers, senior citizen stoners, easy to screen for leo, smoke a joint at the time of application. There are many properties available, some on terms if you had good credit, and some cash down. Old schools, hotels, and even cruise ships, my personal favorite. I would already have one running if I had good credit, but I haven't used credit for years. You could do it in a big farm house around here, or a med state like michigan.

Senior grow friendly cruise ship, now we're talking.
That would be great, sail all over, grow your plants, stop at different islands.
I wonder where the "love boat" is now, what was it called?
The pacific princess I think.
That things got to be getting pretty old now, we could probably get a deal on it.
All the cast from show are old enough to be part of the community too, gopher, Issac, captain steubing, yeah.

Your wanting to start a communist compound? I don't think the feds would like that. :tiphat:
A better model would be personal grow spaces with fire control and environmental control standard. Just make sure that each residence has it's own electric meter, that could get pricey.
I really like the hot Betty staff idea though :D clothing optional

commie compound? you sniffin' glue? :blowbubbles:

once you've gotten into a nursing home your social security payments go directly to that home unless you have outside resources to pay the monthly fees. gotta pay to stay, period. my reference to a 'cannabis commune' was made only as the direction of our home; when interpreting the word 'commune' try thinking 'communal & common' as definitions 1 & 2, 'communist' is a political viewpoint where the feds are concerned & THAT would be the furthest objective of all our goals.

our goal would be to stay well medicated, well fed, not screwed with and somewhat entertained for our final days here. living amongst like minded people is the only way to achieve this imo........

OK, your way 16 separate electric meters & of course each meter has a monthly charge of appx $30.00 = $480 in metering fees per month before you even use a single watt.

My way has a single meter for the premise costing $30.00 per month saving $450 per month or $5,400.00 per year.

Your application for the accounting job @ Groovy:ying:Manor is under scrutiny bro, in the meanwhile we're still looking for a decent cook.:comfort:

EDIT:
actually the feds wouldn't like it at all & might want to stop sending the SS checks entirely if we couldn't prove that the $900 or so per month only covered room, board, salaries for elderly services which is all it ever could, selling weed to dispensaries would cover all the good shyt we'd all want otherwise.
