hello to everybody 1st of all

so im starting a pc grow

i received my pc tower today and i must say its a rare one

i ll post pics of the package-pc case asap with measurements included for anybody interested enough

i must say that i ve never grown in a micro way before+dont know how to mod the pc in order to increase the space in it(remove unused metal)

i will also need help as fas as strain selection goes, i want smth that suits my box and let it be as sativa as it can be! fem seeds is a + but not the only option
im thinking of growing it vertically then bending 1 or 2 plants to the side, starting the seeds in the back side then tie em and lower em to the front side if u get me, if not ait for the plans

+choosing light:
led customs panel or fluoros or 250w hps

That's a nice looking case you've got there.

Your first steps should be cleaning out the interior of the case - most of the bays should be attached with rivets that can be drilled out easily.

One thing I learned in this process is that planning and thinking things out before diving in will save you a LOT of headache.

I played with two or three cases when building mine, still not completely finished, but I learned a lot just going through the process a few times.

Are you going for complete stealth? (no light leaks, proper looking rear of pc, etc.)

they usually are riveted together. drill out the rivets and the pieces fall apart

I would say 2 42w cfl's would be perfect. 5600 lumens total...you could probably get 1-2z out of that tower.

i hope the reason they end so small was that i had the cam set on 7mpix and now i have to perform serious resizes in order to drop below 100kbs

fill me out on this as cfls have some new patterns these days, ppl ple or w/e u call em...

They are very close to the spectrum of hps.

Unfortunately I won't be doing a thread on my current grow for security reasons.
I promise I will be posting a grow diary with updates atleast every 10 days when I have my 3kw coco drip perpetual up and running at a new location by next fall at the latest. I will be walling off nearly half of a basement and wiring in a 100 amp subpanel and dedicating 4 20amp circuits to the flower room and 1 20amp circuit for the veg room. I will have a seperate veg room with a 216w t5 for moms, 24-48w clone rooting area, and 96w solo cup standby area for additional root devolopment before they get tranplanted into 16 4 gallon pots for 3wks veg under 1000w mh. Flower room will be 8x16 with the plants in a 4x12 space. Plants will be handwatered for the first 3-3.5 weeks and then they will be drip fed with 2 drip stakes in each pot to runoff once daily. The last light in the row will be mh for improved flavor, density, coloration and potency. I will be putting 16 plants into flower and cutting 16 plants every 24 days with a 10 week strain and every 28 days when working with 12 week strains...should be good for 1.5-2p dried at the end of each month. The only downside is that I will need to do 3 seperate nute mixes every day because each group of 16 will be at different stages of flower...oh yeah and another nute mix for the 16 veggers...It's a labor of love.

What were you planning on using to cool the space? I used to use 4'' computer fans to cool when I ran 250's and 400's. One blowing air over the canopy and one sucking hot air out at the top of the cab.

At a guess, a 7mp camera takes pictures about 6 feet x 8 feet in size. We need shots closer to 6 inches x 8 inches or we'd soon run out of storage space. Do us all a favor and use a photo editing program to reduce your photos largest dimension to 800 pixels or less @ 72 dpi.

250 watts in that case will require heavy ventilation which will blow any sense of stealth out of the water. My 250 is hard enough to cool in a 22x29x54 inch freezer sucking in 50ºF winter air.

as for the ventilation im planning i dont see any reason to use smth other than the fans that the case was equipped with

maybe both of em pull out, what kind of carbon filter will i be able to fit there?????

can custom made filters from aquarium carbon supplies really cure the dank smell of a ripe bud???

about the cfls, i was planning for plts if thats how they call em
magnet shape long cfls

im sure they ll provide much better light distribution in there

I'd say hang a 150 in the middle and have one plant on each side, one in front and one in back. You can hang a piece of chicken wire vertically and fill that screen up top to bottom. You can grow sativas this way and they won't stretch that much.

I'd say skip the cfls, hids put out more intense light.

I have never heard of those bulbs do you have a link? I would think the fans that came with the pc will be enough as long as you have some sort of passive intake. As for odor control...I don't have any good advice because I never did anything for odor control until I started using 600's on 6'' ducting into a can 33.

About the smell, I have a scrubber in the room and I was still smell ganja when I walked in my house.

I mixed up some mint oil, its a deodorizer/degreaser found in the cleaning supply section, at a rate of 2 cap fulls per liter, poured into a tupperware and set a paper humidifier filter in it. I haven't smelled ganga since I did that.

Mint oil, it deodorizes very well.

In a perfect world a 150 hps would be awsome in a pc case, but in reality it would just get much too hot in there to grow anything. I have seen 70w hps in a pc case somewhere on this site but that was cooled with a home made 4'' cooltube and inline fan to filter. I can try to find the link...
