I am culling all my mother plants. The mite damage was a lot worse than expected and they are not recovering, so 32 mums are going in the bin. So be it. Just goes to show how much damage a pest can do in a short amount of time. I can still retain this strain if the feminized seed thing works, clones from a friend who is running the strain or clones off the outdoor plants so all is not lost. I'll get it back some how. I could also try a re veg on the pollinated plants but have never tried that before.

In the meantime I'm getting a bit nervous about ordering CHEM DOG IBL. There seems to be a bit of discussion on this site about hermies, male/female ratio and germination issues. I'll just have to think about it for a while.

Have grown some crosses that were made by benji a breeder on these forums that is in oz and they turned out great :)

Would love to get my hands on a few of Benji's strains myself, a mate here gave me some beans to grow, not sure where or whom he got them from, but i think some of my pics tell the story. Benji's Strawberry Dawg i think thats how it is spelt, looks the cats-ass. LOL maybe i have a few here and i don't even know it for sure LMFAO....

G'day Afro, just before Xmas I should know if I have a seed set and hopefully a heap of them. Got rid of all my mother plants, the whole lot. So be it. That's alright, I have other ways of reviving this strain. They were very sick plants and did not want to risk a mite hatch if they had laid eggs and so continuing the problem. As this finishes I will also be ordering new genetics, still haven't made my mind up what to choose though, regular seeds, I want a male.

I am sure mate there must be someone over near you who could send you some cuttings. I have sent cuts threw the mail to tassie and they got there ok, even got some seed off them after a cross was performed sent back to me. I havent got anything to spare atm, but if i did i would be more then happy to send you some now. Keep it in mind anyway mate, later down the track i might be able to help out if i can, thats if you want.

The seed thing isn't dusted yet mate, be interesting to see if anything comes out of it, even tho the fuckin mites did some damage, allways happens when you don't want it to hey.... All the best champ.

G'day BUNDY, I haven't lost the strain yet. I've just lost a few mother plants, 32 of them. I have plants in the bush = clones, a friend grows the same strain, uncrossed = clones and I could re veg the plants being pollinated = clones. I might do that anyway just for fun cos I have never tried it before.

But I would like a change, new genetics but still haven't made my mind up. I will be ordering soon. I want a 100% indica and a Haze cross in regular form so I can do a seed run and take clones of the girls as soon as they are identified.

It would be nice to have a change, a new challenge.

9 DAYS SINCE MANUAL POLLINATION.

9 DAYS SINCE MANUAL POLLINATION.

How do the potential seed bearers look now.

STILL EARLY DAYS

The suspense is driving me nuts. I have taken some more bananas off the she/male and have them drying now. Then I'll crush them and give the above plants another dusting.

I've pretty much decided on the new genetics I'm going to order, Sensi Seeds - G13 X HASH PLANT, NL#5 X HAZE, in regular seed form. Quite pricey at nearly $500 AUD for two packs but what the heck. There's so many choices.

The NL#5 X HAZE is one that I have always drooled over - hope to see a diary of it if you decide on it.

Jimbo :)

Both of those strains have been around for a while. I want to do seed runs and work from there, phenotypes etc. Stability of the strain is the main thing I worry about.

NL x Haze has always sounded great to me too...can I recommend some Mandala gear, if I may be so bold? :)

For the time being I'll just stick with the old school stuff and see what happens. Full on indica and a haze hybrid.

the bloody borg, jesus what a pain in the backside. hope you get ontop of it mate!

Ah yes, the good old BORG. That was the worst attack I have ever had and being a cunning enemy they chose a time when I could not repel them. I was on a 3 day mission driving a new Kenworth truck back from interstate to work and returned to find webs. I think it was weather related, warm and humid, nice juicy growth on the plants and they pounced.

I have no mother plants at the moment, culled all of them but I can get this strain going again and am looking forward to ordering new genetics.

For those who are interested I found a link that is good reading. I search for shit like this while I wait for this feminized seed thing to finish. So if you want to see some serious grows, have a look at this.

THE RESURRECTION OF A STRAIN

THE RESURRECTION OF A STRAIN

When 32 mother plants were attacked by THE BORG I threw 28 into the rubbish bin and just for a laugh I left 4 that looked like they had 5% chance of survival outside. Today I came home from work to find this.

NEW GROWTH, MY GIRLS ARE SAFE

I don't know how they survived cos they looked like shit after the mite attack. I suspect natural predators of the mites got into them. There are no mites on them now. High Country Indica has another chance in life.

I'll take clones off these when possible. Just have to get them back to good health first.

The feminized seed thing is now just a waiting game. I may do some micro surgery in a weeks time to see if any seed is developing and then I will know.

At about the same time I will order new genetics, NL#5 x Haze and G13 x Hash Plant, Sensi Seeds products.

Life in the garden continues, deaths and new beginnings.
