(NaturalNews) Senate Bill 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act, has been called "the most dangerous bill in the history of the United States of America." It would grant the U.S. government new authority over the public's right to grow, trade and transport any foods. This would give Big brother the power to regulate the tomato plants in your backyard. It would grant them the power to arrest and imprison people selling cucumbers at farmer's markets. It would criminalize the transporting of organic produce if you don't comply with the authoritarian rules of the federal government.

"It will become the most offensive authority against the cultivation, trade and consumption of food and agricultural products of one's choice. It will be unconstitutional and contrary to natural law or, if you like, the will of God." - Dr. Shiv Chopra, Canada Health whistleblower (http://shivchopra.com

Oh FFS...

One would hope that people would actually read the bill before passing along FUD like this.

A bill like that would never pass and if it did it would be almost immediately struck down as unconstitutional. It would be political suicide for any politician to support a bill that makes illegal the very thing that helpped the US survive World Wars I and II.

I sure wouldn't want to get arrested for showing off my hung banana as it would be considered a fruit that grows

From the little bit of research I've done on this thing, it's real, but you can still grow your own food. You just can't trade it or sell it. Also not clear on the part about seeds. They might not be sold at stores anymore from what other people are saying.

You can't grow vegetables without seeds.

It seems that Monsanto did hire Xe but didn't actually purchase the company.

They simply hired an shell company to infiltrate activists that were against GMO.

I found the full text and was daunted by its length and complexities... then I realized that most senators will do what I did and quit reading.

Wow... I never thought the day would come where I would have to be one bad ass criminal to grow my own food. Gotta roll with the punches... outdoor guerrilla vegetables! But seriously... what the fuck?!

welcome to the brave new world, a place where logical things do not happen very often *humming twilight zone theme melody

think about companies supplying you with designer foods, while their collegues work on symptom supressing medication to medicate ailments induced by designer foods, ...

and even if you ain't willing to play along, you get "forced" to or outlawed. so in the end, we all become laborotory rats...

ps.: slavery never ended, it was only made more comfortable so a fake sense of freedom could be maintained so the slaves never uproar...

This is all about world de-population and eugenics.

Illegal to collect rainwater or trade your own food all in the name of sustainability and solving the non-problem of co2...

The above poster is absolutely correct. Its slavery. Except the slave-masters have all kinds of new toys at their disposal.

Karma is a bitch. There will be a revolt against this tyranny.
