well that makes perfect sense Doc. I had a friend recently grow out DP's cough because she didn't want to take in any clones due to a mite outbreak in our crew of friends. She used the feminised seeds, and the herb came out sooo bland. almost tasteless and smelless. it looked a bit like the cough, but literally had nothing else in common. when i told my friends what it was their jaw dropped at how poor of a job DP did with breeding.

Was just trying to emphasis that 1) the hoarded strains aren't always the best example of the line. 2) that people hoard frt seeds. That's all... no stress.

In UK its hard to hoard strains because we share everything these days,, Cheese was hoarded for years,, and Blues,,, and a few other clone-only varieties ,, but today they are perhaps the most common clones available.

Those are out, bro. I've seen em both quite a few times. Cherry Pie is a winner, but forget the blackberry kush. It's pretty but there's tons of stronger stuff out there that doesn't autoflower at the first sign of stress.

yea im looking for the special blackberry cut...yeah i know the one you are talking about..they even have it at harborside...it looks nice and flashy but yeah not too potent, semi fluffy, bland taste lots of frost though....its circulating at alot of clubs. heres a pic of the one i think you are talking about...

this is the one im looking for its more dense, and has way more purple tint. like the buds are half purple sometimes, has a strong kush taste..reminds me more of bubba kush in some respects...hopefully these blackberry bubba cuts i just got will be what im looking for..i asked the grower who gave me this for some cuts but he wont pass them out...freakin hoarder!

but i digress, lets get this thread back on track... who remembers one of the most strain hoardingest crews of growers ever the DHK? lots of fire crosses have come from things they were holding. not to mention their collection to begin with

Even though we were known on the internet as a bunch of strain hoarders most people dont realize (or dont want to realize) that for every ONE strain we kept to ourselves (hoarded) we passed at least 15-20 high end/elite cuts into our local surrounding cities and towns to other growers and there were members EVERYWHERE. For the 15 strains I hoarded, I gave the local growers the opportunity to grow out over 250 other elite cuts. Man I suck.

I think a big thank you is owed to the DHK for having the balls to ship/share some 300+ clones across the world. Which as you mentioned gave lots of people opportunities to breed and get em out into the world.

Some call it hoarding, I call it STRAIN PRESERVATION.

Im guilty of hoarding about 15 strains, but Ive handed out 250+clone strains and another 250+ seed varieities so I think Im allowed to keep a few things close to the chest.

and yes, the cuts that the DHK members held, hold, are some of the rarest and dankest cuts one could hold.

that shit is in the past. some of them got busted, some of them moved, some of them are doing really well, some of them aren't, some of them went medical, some of them didn't. but if you know your internet grow forum history, you will know that some of the hottest cuts going around the boards, and some of the hottest seeds on the auction sites right now are from former DHK members.

The members are still around and a couple like myself still defend the group from slander and ignorance. Many others changed names to avoid confrontation from jealous/hateful online people who never saw the good we did, only focused on the hoarding. The website and the original mission/members dont operate any longer. Im proud of what we did. There were a dozen people outside of our circle globally we openly traded with so it wasnt all in Krew trading. If you had the goods and could prove you had the goods, trades were on.

Most of my best cuts didnt come out of the Krew for what its worth.

Blues = an illegal bar,, in the 1990s these venues were most common in most major cities of the UK as a source of ganja

Hoarding is been practices by man since the beginning whether it be cannabis or alcohol or any thing they think they can trade and make money off of.
This is the way I see it you may see it differently and that would be your right but this is me.
First I try to put myself in other ppl's shoes and think from there. If I have the sweetest cut lets say it's PK and it's all mine and not only do I think it's the greatest cut and on and on but hey I have helped ppl I deserve this like your saying.... So no one is going to get that cut because I've decided that this baby is mine. The problem with that scenario is that there are probably lots of ppl PK helps medically and if I hoard it then how can those ppl get the help they might need? Everyone has to follow their path whatever that is and whatever they think is right. It's not until you see the very sick ppl out there that you realize that they need this and who am I to keep it from them? It's all well and good to be the big man on the block and have the sweetest cuts and we all know and want to try them of-course would YOU? IMVHO this is not the medicine ppl should be hoarding and if they have had ppl say. You know that XXXX bud I can't get enough of that for my MS ,,Who am I to say hey thats hoarded now sorry .. Thats to me is more like our Gov and Big Pharma and not a pot smoking person . Pot should bring you this place where you want everyone to try and see how far we can come with this. If I create a new great strain then why isnt it my perogative to do with it as I please? Did anyone help me grow them out, make space for males and females, chip in on the nutes, help with my energy bill, watering, trimming, collecting seeds, yadda yadda yadda? So why should a grower feel obligated to share if all that effort is his own? The herb is great and culture is open but I dont have to get the shitty end of the stick just to say im not a hoarder! Unless you understand what it takes to breed and look for phenos in tons of cuts to find the one, its kinda condescending to tell me to give my babies away freely! It wasnt free to get to that point so why should it be free to the next guy!

If I decide to share freely thats one thing but dont tell me im being a dick if I dont wanna. In Cali there are cuts and then there are cuts. If you find it in a disp. most are a fake, mislabeled, got mites, or pm. Why would I turn over cuts and have them end up in ganja mills making money for the next guy? Grow your own, breed your own, and smoke your own. Get in where you fit in!
