I'm sure this doesn't have much to do with the series,but I always wondered how the first zombie came to be. Geez did that make sense?

Looks good so far, they pretty much stole the beginning of 28 days later though! good to see some english actors in there though

Iirc the comic book started before 28 days later or the script was older, something like that. I vaguely recall Kirkman addressing exactly that issue in the 'letters' section.

IMO the comic got stale around issue #50 and I quit reading it.

The TV show looks promising the so far. No idea how much of the comic book gets covered, though.

Btw. as long as I've read the comic it was never explained how zombie nation came to be.

Story really isn't about how it got that way. Story (at least in the comic) was about how these characters continued to LIVE (and many of them die) in the face of this sort of ultimate doomsday scenario. It was about exploring what happens over the long haul to society, to people, to families, to morality.

At least that's how I read it.

Hope the series doesn't fuck it up too bad.

i watched it last night and thought it was pretty damn good. some of the makeup on the zombies(the first shot with the rifle by the father)was extremely disappointing, but......
i just hope they didn't blow there budget on the first episode to get everyone excited, just to have a B series afterwords.....

If it was me, I would head to a port or coastland to get a boat. I would use a boat to setup a post on an island close to land. Or a secure location like a prison or military base to setup a barricade.

No. There're a lot of scenes in the TV show that weren't in the comics and some events didn't happen the same way.
But in essence the TV show is the same zombie survival horror story that the comic book is.
I've liked this 6 episodes.

All it would've taken was for the Dr. to simply say,

i think its a decent show, kinda soap opera-ey tho.

my only issue is that zombies are dumb, why dont they just build platforms and fly aroundin helicopters, then they couldnt get you
