You guys across the water seem to be getting a harder frost than where I'm at, I was looking at the UK thread and that pic of the plant covered in frost definitely sounded the death knell for 2010 outdoors..

Any pics of the Biddy, it's on my long long list of strains to try outdoors.

It's kind of a strange name for a plant, anybody know if it has anything to do with Biddy Early

Yes it doe`s , i remember reading about The Biddy Witch the plant was named after . I have been trying to find the web page that links the old crow with Magus Genetics but info overload :moon:
I have a fair amount of bud on my 8ft girl & bud-rot has been very light on her but i had to cut the others b4 i lost them , heres one pic from my gallery but i`ll get some more this weekend that shows the bud more . Good odour from them when you get real close but i can`t smell them from a short distance away . I have had a few phenos when i grew them last & this years plants are from those seeds with 2 distinct phenos showing . I hav`nt come across what i call the Indica phene this year but it`s a lot heavier in the bud running 2/3rds along the branch instead of budding ranging from 8in to around 14in on the tips of the branches . Biddy E is one really nice smoke & the bubble is awesome :dance013:
Had 2 nights of ground frost but it has`nt risen too high of the ground so the plants seem fine but all the vegetation is drooping especially the Chinese Balsam .

Here you go , i have already nipped a fair bit of bud from her (poss 25-30%) but shes got more defence than the other two which have been cut/hung as they were moulding up fairly rapidly & i had some rain on it`s way . All the triches on her are cloudy & she smells real nice . I`m actually up all night poss even longer as we are due some more rain , if it comes i`m cutting her in 2 & hanging in garage till morning . I`m not losing any more to rot i have plenty of Biddy bubble + a fair bit of cured bud to come :)
Considering our UK/Eire weather i`m going to look at a auto or later auto to bring it into flower earlier coz i want to grow some more . You sit back on the sofa with some cured bud & your in for a good night believe me .

Seems like they have a healthy yield off of them :).....I'm going to need a bigger back garden me thinks.
Are you thinking about crossing a few with an auto flowering strain?

Few pics of the lone survivor in the conservatory, she was attacked by something the other day/night I'd swear it was a caterpillar..

Yes but not a full auto , i just want to shorten the flowering so they are ready mid sept . It pissed it down 2am so i was out with the pruning saw , she`s now in the drying room with happy days to come !!!

Now thats dedication to be out harvesting at 2am in the pisses of rain fair play to you man :)

A semi-autoing biddy would be really nice, a lot of work but I'm sure it will be no bother to you :).

Had to switch the indoor lights to hps today because the tents were getting too cold at night, seedlings are loving the extra light tho.

visited the lone test plant on sunday got a finger sized bud of nasty lemon smelling ggvdp, so small yet smelly, wish i had harvested my other stuff though gotten some light frosts but the weather has been pounding the plants for the last few days, also insulating the pots by rapping and stuffing seems to be working very well ,the church in particular has made an epic come back, which is a load of my mind. got some kc buds that were also smelling really sweet, cant wait to try them, if their still there that is.

also gave outdoor drying ago, buds were trimmed on branches then hung from trees where there was a good airflow, came back two days later and the buds had shrunk, any long bits of sugar leaf had curled up around the rest of the buds looked weird at first but no mold so im happy, still drying them indoors but that initial really strong smell after cutting was gone which is nice for transporting .

I had a visit late last night in my grow plot , bastards had cut through the boundry fence but set off a Wireless PIR sensor beam when they got through the vegetation & into the grow plot & the alarm went off indoors . I went out with the dog & picked up a nice suprise for them but they`d already been spooked or never spotted the plants b4 they left .
Close run thing & i don`t think they realise just how lucky they were , plants are all safe & been moved (advantage of pots) so i may finish this year smiling .

All plants are in and harvested. Around 9oz of top quality bud yielded. Amazing stuff and easily enough to last me the year.

I noticed that plants in the ground where less suseptible to mould than in pots. Could be a nutrient problem as they wherent looked after the best. Even still all plants out yielded lots of top quality mould free bud. On par with anything ive ever smoked.

Deffinetly a worthwile experiment. Got to give the best rating to the typhoon. Lovely smoke and what a plant. Takes a beating, finishes early and remains mostly mould free on a mountain at 55n. Those crazy Danes are some chaps.

Some of the canadian strains finshed earlier, mid July to Mid August but our terrible July hit them quite hard, much lower yielding and much more mould suseptible. Could have been due to the crappy July they where flowering through though. Theyll all be out again next year anyway.

The danish flatland was much later being pulled in last week. A smaller one was finished at the end of september. This is potent stuff. Remained mostly mould free right up until harvest.

Cant wait until next year. Something about pulling all the plants thats satisfying but ill miss growing them aswell. Im a farmer at heart.:watchplant:

Good luck pulling in the harvest.

Chopper sick balls!!! :)
Great to hear they left empty handed, bit of a pity you/your pup didn't get a chance to take a lump out of the theiving scum, tho you may still get the chance to teach some idiots a lesson if they return.
Good job on moving the plants to keep your hard work safe :)

Nice yield Grizzly and your bound to have a sack or 2 of trim to bubble :)

Interesting point about pot bound plants being more suseptable to botrytis, I'll bet any amount of money that the levels of benificial bacteria and fungus were much higher in the natural soil that the potted plants.

I get depressed looking out into the garden with all of the plants and veg gone, having to wait 5 months for next years outdoor crop is just not on!!

Roll on 2011

Have to say I'm surprised mould didn't set in on the branches you dried outside, I tried the same on a few wispy branches in September.
4 days later and they were a lovely shade of grey and with more fur than the 3 dogs combined.
If it makes any difference my lot were untrimmed.

Well the fun and games for next year are in full swing, my soil has been amended and the ground covered until May.

The first few seeds have popped, 2 Amnesia Haze a few of my cross and a couple of reveg clones from this years better looking HFH hash plant.

The little cross is turning out to be a really nice little plant, it only had a few weeks veg outside late in the season before flowering set in, I can wait to see a few of them after 3 or 4 months veg next year :plant grow:

Made another bit of bho from the trim that was dry sifted, it adds a nice bit of flavour to a cigarette :)

Well thats enough from me, happy harvest and hash making everyone

Well thats it for me this year :(

Last plant was chopped today, it's been a fun year growing outdoors with you all.
Expect bigger and better things in 2011 from me n the pups :thank you::wave:

Thank you Lump :)

Hopefully and all things going well and by this time next year outdoor growing will be my main crop and my indoor gear will only be used to give the plants a head start in spring.

I see in the evening paper we have another viet grow house busted, you'd wonder how many of them there are in the country, seems like every week another one is discovered.

MJB I've a bit to go before I'm as successful as you are in your garden :)

But with a little help from friends I'll get there, many thanks for your input and advice in the irish threads :)
The best seat in the house located by the bar will be reserved for you in 2011 outdoor thread :)

Soon enough us Irish will have 40 shades of outdoor green :smokeit:

For any stragglers outdoors, the weather is ment to be pure shite the next few days.
High winds and heavy rain so ye might want to keep an eye on anything left outside.

The top skunk 44 isnt completly cured yet and dosent smell/taste the best but it definitly packs a punch (Im rafted as I type :rasta: :joint: ) and by far surpasses the quality of anything ive ever bought . I finished with 29 grams to smoke and 6 to give to a few close freinds and mabe smoke while im waiting for the rest to cure.

I have six mazars due to finish december/january (or till they get a bad dose of budrot/frostbite) and ill probably just hash them.

Thanks for all the help and advice my grow wouldnt have been the same without it. Hope to see you all growing again next year and maybe ill post up some pics of the mazars soon. They were frostbitten fairly bad but one has gone really purple and looks amazing.

peace
