the plant on the far left is the one that got topped righht before the end of stretch...the pics really suck, they really don't show what's going on..the soil plants actually seem to be heavier then the coco..frostier..I think the coco plants are a little behind in the cycle though, even though they're the same age...I think dry weights between the 2 middle plants is going to be the real judge.

...making great progress on the cab today..the build part is 99% done..just need to magnetize the last cover door ;) ..I have it running right now trying to help the paint and sealant dry a bit..hopefully I can fill it up tonight if the fumes don't seem too bad.

Bravo, bravo. I love the Bluemax thing - I saw some PL bulbs like that. You're ahead of the game, bro  It's been a real pleasure conversing with you all this time, thanks for showing us your collection! Season's greetings :santa1:

A masterful use of space indeed.

Thanks alot for stopping in Boleman. I learned alot from your threads, especially the acrylic sump building thread..because of that thread I plan on eventually building my own polycarbonate trays and flood and drain system for my new cab :) I noticed your pics aren't working in that thread though :(

CM- hiya, I thought about an electro magnet setup. A coil or something with some pins and a pressure switch..push the button and it completes the circuit and pulls on a spring loaded pin or rod and releases the door...just couldn't quite get the engineering figured out..maybe someday, or maybe if I was a russian mad scientist ;)

ok here we go! :jump:
The Stealthdragon Mother Cab XL Deluxe - version 1.0

pic with the insert doors in place..still need to do a little painting and detailing.

top:

bmr,wr,cd/sd,ssh,gdp(SD cut :dance013: ), ss,ch,chxcd/sd,querkle

bottom:

c+,ogxcd/sd,nycd,420blues,sh

temps:

bottom chamber 76.6
top chamber 78.4
exhaust 82.8
ambient 74.7
I had to click the lights off to get an accurate reading on the first 3 temps.as I said earlier they jump around about 15 degrees while the ballast is on. At least I found an ez fix, the inwall timer has a feature where you just press on the front panel and it clicks the lights on and off :dance013:

I have alot of thoughts about this thing (the cab) and I'll do a write up on it a little later...lots of little things I'm seeing that I could have done better. I'm very very happy with it, but I'm my own worst critic for sure.

did some seed inventory today and decided to start to germ a roadrunner that's gonna get knocked up by some sour60.

deskshot:

room for about 5 more I think..

a GDP that got hit with sour60 pollen a few days ago..looks like it took really well.

this is the soil #3 plant

this is the coco #1 plant, the one that got topped

cloner + bmr in hydro. she's starting to go, so she got topped ;)

have a great day everyone! I look forward to your comments and questions.

some after thoughts on the build-

cons-

I reallly wish I would have put the plugins for electric and speakers up higher. Like maybe behind the utility room or behind the bottom plugin. With it being on the floor of the bottom chamber it takes up floor space and without it the bottom floor would be all nice and clean and I could put 1 big tray in it, or fit more plants.

I should have made the wire leads for the temp probes and outlets longer incase I need to do repairs or upgrades later.

I should have been much more careful screwing things together...there's a couple spots where screws came through the outside of the box :( (i'll file down the protruding tips at a later date)

Should have made the filter a little bigger so there's less resistance, maybe a square one or a tray.

I didn't put enough thought into the framing for the insert doors or how to attach the magnets securely. They were a bitch to get lightsealed and stuff. I also didn't get the top frame squared and it made it really tough to seal.

what else...hmm the temp probes and the ballast problems...not sure what I coulda done about that..there's was no way of knowing about that, I've never heard of anyone reporting a problem like that from a cfl ballast...guess I coulda just separated them and the wires better, but at least I can toggle the lights for a quick fix..and they work fine for 4 hours a day when the lights are off ;)

pros-

I am really glad that I made insert doors instead of hinges though. I think hinges on micro boxes kinda suck cuz they always seem to get in the way...A few times I've knocked over plants or nutes with the doors to my dresser or ngb cab. Being able to pull the doors completely off and set them out of the way is great! the way they insert is the left side slides into place, then I push in the right side and latch it, ez peazy.

I'm loving the fan controller (in my best lebowski voice) it really ties the cab together man. and it's bright and shiny too :)

working speakers....come on that's fuggin awesome!...I have a plug wired up to hook up to my mp3 player and it sits on top playing music all day..it covers up the slight noise from the exhaust.

The angles on my light trap could have been alot better..I used the clear corner guard stuff to make it and used a gap of 1/4" ...the weatherstripping worked awesome to space it out..easier then gluing all kinds of lil pieces in place. I think I'll hit it with a few more layers of black paint..I'm getting a slight glow, nothing major though.

I'll think of more stuff later.

I'm having an awesome day.
*good vibes* for everyone

edit: thanks for the replies cb1 and cm!!
I also retired my 2 PCs for the time being.

Next grow box should be one of those Ghetto Blaster boom boxes.
This one is pretty cool. Im probably going to have to upgrade my grow chamber or build another box for clones mothers and cuttings. Thanks for the inspiration.

Holy fudge brownies!!!:woohoo: Where's Pontiac or Lil Wayne to stamp this thread??!!!! Working speakers??!!! Music 24/7??!! Insert doors?! Fan controller??!! Come on man!! :noway:
SD I think you may have a problem bro. Your addicted to building stealth and stellar grow cabs, and you need help. Just give em' to me....:comfort: :D.

But really, this is very inspirational like Tilt mentioned. :tiphat:

hi tilt, hmm maybe I should keep an eye out for an old boombox...those things are like 90% air inside, that's like at least a square foot to work with! :)

hahah thanx pancho! I do love building stuff. I think I'll start automating things before I build my next cab though :)

Thanx alot cursor

20/4 I've been wanting to cross a gdp cut forever and work on an auto line of it. The gdp I have is from a bagseed and turned out absolutely amazing. I run quite a few strains bog, rez, ghs..etc..but I think my gdp blows them all away, it has a really uniquie bud structure..early on it grows curly hair

not the best pic to show the curly hairs..I should take some new ones. Towards the end it looks like purple asparagus, the calyxes are like a crown of thorns. I've looked at alot of pics and grow logs of ken's cut and royal's cut..and mine seems to get far bigger calyxes. She should be a easy one to cross too, she's bred true for me so far with structure and taste. and the curly hairs should make for an earlier selection when I start seed selection.

cheers everyone :tiphat:

those are some old pics, but the gdp cut got pollinated about a week ago..so about 4 more weeks on those seeds. Then the fun begins.
