dude my mind is made up ima put barb wire at ankle height about 4-5 ft from smart pots so they trip and then a nice friendly bear trap in the brush so when they goto catch themselves they land head first in the trap. im out for blood next year. ima put plants in the smartpots they took just to get one of them hurt. Maybe even a game camera so i can record one of there deaths.

in all honesty ill tell you what i did in my outdoor(backyard, 12lb harvest a few years ago)

i put 2x10 planks down on the ground and left random spaces in between the planks

then drill 4-5" screw(nails will never stay up right, screws are much better) through the wood plank, in all directions

in the random spaces i left i would dig holes a foot or 2 deep, these spaces are meant incase a ripper comes and see's the planks and nails, if he falls in the holes and trips he gets a face full of nails.

i did this after one year my plants got jacked....worked well for me

I feel your pain. My backyard bl berry kush got ripped. Long story, got the plant back, but for a few days I was super bummed and paranoid, and had many traps in mind, as well as floodlights and cameras.

Be safe,
Ace

I know you're mad, and that's understandable given the loss you've experienced, but posting shit like this is juvenile and irresponsible.

Seriously injuring someone to protect your cash crop that is a cash crop solely because it's illegal is both a morally and ethically bankrupt idea.

Get a grip and some perspective. The only reason this plant is so valuable, and your guerilla grow is worth your time is because of prohibition. You take risks when you break the law to make money - the loss of some of your plants being the least of your worries. This is obviously not a personal grow we've been following, so act like a responsible adult, accept the losses for what they are - an inherent hazard of your illegal (and thus profitable) endeavor - and do a better job of it next year.

I once had plants ripped from a legal medical grow on my own back patio, so I'm familiar with the feeling of having someone steal the fruit of my work. It's a horrible combination of rage, frustration, and the feeling of getting punched in the gut. I'm sorry you're having to feel it, and I would have loved to see your girls finish, but dangerous traps are not the solution to avoiding the problem in the future.

If I were you, I'd be counting my blessings that I still had my freedom, instead of openly plotting additional (more serious) ways to risk it. If the authorities had found traps this time (assuming it was the authorities and not rippers) you would probably be behind bars right now.

Try to look on the bright side, and remember next spring isn't far off.

Peace be with you

^yeah i hear you but gotta let aero vent man....fuckin cops are the enemy. he put in mad work for that shit... pallets of promix, endless trips back and forth to set up those huge smart pots....im prayin to god he can salvage the other plants and at least recoop his investment...

im sure he doesnt really intend to go out and hurt the enemy...but it makes one feel better to talk about bloodshed.

but yeah every bad thing that happens to you is a lesson...gotta turn that rage into productive ideas to make shit better next year. new spot, more spread out, and diversify with a nice indoor grow to make up the loss...im sure Aero will be fine!

It's all part of the game bro, I know losing something you put so much time and effort into feels terrible (get ripped almost every year that's why we have many spots) but it's totally uncool to set up booby traps on private land that does not belong to you. It would undoubtably cause more problems/attention for you if someone were to stumble into your spot and get hurt.

It's part of the risk we take..

Ted Danson speaks the truth if it isn't your land, but if it is your land you set the rules.

I agree in principe but in the reality we live in it's fucking retarded to make booby traps even on your own property, if your worried about rippers get a yourself a big fence, big dog, and some motion sensing floodlights/cameras. If anyone were to hurt themselves even if they were trespassing I can guarantee you no good would come from it. Resorting to hurting others in this scenario is pretty immature, much better ways to deter rippers without terrible consequences.

So sorry to hear that man. Sounds like some of the luck I've had recently. Glad you have SOMETHING else to cut down that wasn't taken.

sorry again.

sad sad news aero... i am sorry about your losses bro... could be A LOT more worse... also you could be in jail right now...

as far as the missing plants are concerned, there are a couple suspects here... lead suspect obviously the game warden... but the next suspect would HAVE to be your helper.... if it were LEO who found the plants, don't you think it would have made the local news? wouldn't it also be in the public records?

i really believe it was the game warden because he saw you with a hose in the one area....

BUT

i also think your helper could be a suspect because he knew about the warden, and he also knows you have more spots, so if he were to steal from the spot that the warden saw you at then he would figure that you would NEVER consider him as a suspect and you would just chalk it off as the warden being the ripper... it would also make him feel at ease and not TOTALLY horrible stealing from this spot because he knows you at least have other spots to fall back on...

either/or, the crop is gone...

pay close attention to your helpers schedule these few weeks-two months...

also, i hope you went to the ripped site with a mask on just in case it was the po po!

Sometimes bear traps are the only way to go ;). (just kidding of course)

If you can (stealthily), haul out your old pots and put them in a new location. 200gal is like ~400 lbs though of soil, depending on your mix.

Start prepping for next year :).

Good luck brother, you can do it, we know you can! Post pics of final harvest though :joint:

Such an enormous thread, with such a sucky ending. I am really interested in seeing the final product. And I do agree that setting up some type of trap is a no-no. If you hurt someone, you will be in a shit load of trouble. Never do two illegal things at the same time a great man once said to me.

Devastating news! Sorry to hear it. It was only a few days ago I posted how I couldn't wait to see you harvest. Damn, it all happens so quick.

Game cameras are the way forward I think, I'm guessing there are models that send photos to a remote location. Just done a quick search though and found nothing.

I'd want to know who they are before causing any injury. Even if they do get away, at least you've got a face as a lead. And by the sounds of it, a gamer camera is a small investment in comparison to your potential yield.
