Can 456w CFL = 300G Dry? Nicoli Finds Out!

Looking good for a CFL grow, reminds me of my last run with the Floros. I don't think you will get 300 dry but you never know. (and that's not an insult, those plants look good) If and when you ever upgrade to HID I am betting that you will get close to that gram per watt figure you are trying to achieve. I know the first grows with my CFL's really taught me a lot about indoor growing.

And I am not knocking CFL's at all, it's just when there is more intense light, you can feed the plants more which intern leads to greater possible yields.

Thanks dudes.

I would bet money on 10 zips right now.

We'll see. Puff puff. I cant wait to upgrade, im sick of CFL cabs honestly. There are alot of cons.

so if you could choose between a 200watt envirolight blue for veg and red for flower or 1 400hps which would you go for.

fantastic grow btw

CFL grows look nice, but they're a headache to work with. Trying to position plants within a couple inches of bulbs is a pain.

Yep after a while it just gets to be a pain in the butt. But not so much positioning to within inches of the bulb. Some of miine are 6" or more away. The lumen ratings are from 12" away. I just try to keep them within 6-8" at all times, thats not a huge problem.

My pain in the butt is trying to squeeze plants in and out for watering, its a huge pain in the ass. I guess it depends how much hassle you can take. Lol :D

I am close to getting my HID tent setup going :D

Yeah exactly, and I think that is what most people find out in the long run. It is sort of nice being able to set the lights and "forget" it if you know what I mean. Don't get me wrong though, CFL's are viable as you have proven, it's just there are drawbacks....

And to let you know, I still use one of my old CFL cabs for veg, and cloning, they work awesome for that. When they are ready to go, they move on up into the 300 watt hps closet I have. (dual 150 hps security lights under a single reflector, cheap) I can come close to a gram per watt with LST. Probably get more if I scrogged them but meh, I'm to damn lazy for all that, lol. :)

yeah... the higher wattage cfl's get hot if you get real close to them, and it isn't all that necessary as you are showing here. I feel ya on the puzzle thing. For the record, running perpetual helps a lot with that, but I'm sure that is no great enlightenment!

Mostly just wanted to say you have a bad ass grow going here and I'm pullin for ya to get to 300!

Just letting everyone know things are going well..

The SCxCJ was chopped at Day 60 and weighed in at 121.4g dry.. I got 4 beasts+a beercup left and I think they'll come close to 170-180G mark.

Stay tuned.. I wanna do my final update with pics all in one post.

Cheers. :tiphat: :dance013:
