The meao thai gives you that quick lift, then the malawi takes over, puttin' you in a zombie trance if you overdo her. I imagine the taste is the malawi, I could never pinpoint it, new to me. Seems all the Apollo did was bring down the flowering time.

Well...it's like this...due to the scrog and a couple other non related things...I've had to change life up...it is better all way round to be close to home. Kind of dicked me out of money though....but when the winds kick in...nothing much can get done. It's hot again...so I'm fasting along with the scrog....even though today she was given probably 30-50 gal of water...the winds drop the RH to teens and below....dries out everything. Pitted....the winds go over her...so far...it seems to work. Dust control is kind of important at this stage...I do mist her...mist not spray...to keep up RH and wash off dust/dirt....No sense and coming this far....and blow it in the last quarter...putting in the extra time and care makes a big difference in flower quality. Shooting for top shelf ....nothing else...you know it dude..lol...

I'm fasting on my time off...eating stuff out of the garden mostly...and expending little energy. No runs either....but I'm sawing logs....which...well...can be draining. I'm able to saw at home...in between trips for more logs....and watch over things...as with the weather change...things have come up. Already had a power out on...yup...the 19th(frigging 9's)....prime fire conditions....and I must always be thinking about that...no flukes..they happen all the time here. I've had 3 day power outs while fire burned all around my area....pulled that grow off somehow...lol...but it was chaos....

I think you nailed down that GTxA11 cross...sounds like you understand what each parent brought...I'll detail you further after some cure time. It's totally new to me...doesn't seem very "westernized" in nature. It does take you up fast...little sweaty..with coffee.

I was thinking using propane...for CO2....I don't know all that much about the systems yet....I don't want to use tanks of CO2....no going to a shop and refilling and that exposure. Propane I could deal with in the mountains. I'll only be able to use it in the cold months...for now. My exhaust runs constant in summer....I would melt my room if it didn't. I have it on timer as cold sets in.....and even that needs to be tinkered with....to find the right balance in fluxing temps is as constant... as the weather changes.

I am a madman...lol...so true. I went to town the other day...taking care of nonsense...and picked up some new books. I'm in "Shakey" now...so fasting...gardening...sawing/splitting...sailing the ship...and reading about Young's trip....while trying out the various flowers that pass by. Kind of a voyage....the time..and the plants of '10...blogging to keep it accurate...ships log kind of thing....my memory is subjectively shot out.

Do go on about "Bio Dome"...how and what? I'd like to grow old time juiced up plants...like from back prehistoric N days....back when the world was big.

So check this out, I was hesitant to post this stuff up but if I need to know something...I find out!! I've 6 Nevilles haze 3 males and 3 females, they're gowing like crazy a week ago they were 12". Should I just collect pollen from all 3 Nevs males and then hit all my cuts with it? I have a tray of every great cut I have, I flowered them all @ 6" because I had so many but they're growing. That deadbug dip I did killed all the plants but burned the leaves a bit....They've out grown it now.The whole place has about 4k in hps all cooltubes, anyway should I select a male I like the looks of or just have faith in the Mr Nice stock that is without question impeccable?

I think yer wrong. The plants look alive, but yer hydro rocs are brown. You killed them, now you need to replace the medium. Sux to be you!

I would collect pollen from all 3 and selectively pollinate, unless you want a crapload of seeds.
As I suggested to rasputin the other day, I'd isolate the pollen from all males and selectively pollinate a branch ea. Freeze any packets of leftover pollen, then down the road when you've done yer comparisons and something stands out among all yer cuts, you'll have a sweet key in the freezer. But that's just me, as big as you run, you probably have lots of better things to do. Like trim bud and make hash.

CHACO...you my friend...are an amazing grower. I bought a book the other day...."House Of Rain"...it was recommended to me by a neighbor...a look into the lost Anasazi..the Chaco Canyon...the breeding of corn. I'll start in on it as I read "Shakey"...lol...what a combo of literature. Neil Young and a lost people.

...I mostly use between two and three males for inlines.....but on outcrosses....I prefer to use multiple females to a stellar male. Many of my outcrosses were made in such a way.....especially when...like what you are doing....I knew the females already...real queens. I figure since you are recombo(ing) genetics mostly out of their immediate pool...and that you are probably looking for specific traits from the females...to show again.....that limiting the juice from the male side....to just one primo subject is the way to go.

If there is no primo male....I'd then use all males. I generally latch on to my stellar males....sometimes cloning...and using them in multiple pollination runs. Cindy Jones...the only plant I had of that cross(one seed...old pollen)....a stellar male...I spread him like fire...in several sessions.

I'm sure other peeps have different ideas....but we are dealing in specifics.....and don't have fields to work with. Bottlenecks are easy to get out of....through outcrosses...why I will continue to latch on to desired males...we are...after all...in Hybrid Heaven or Hybrid Hell....depending on our out look.

Do you think Nev's Haze is pure?....I can't remember if he messed with...thought he did. I agree...Nice's genetics are wonderful....I used to grow a lot of WW. They are probably some of the most honest genetics in the commercial world...I'm thinking about doing up the Widow again....I would buy those....You grow the Hazy stuff way better than me....I have a lot of trouble with them in my set up.

EDIT...I like what HL is saying....but I'm more about simplicity....whenever I start detailing...like in pollinating different branches with different pollens....it starts bogging me down with details....and that's not my way....Partials are the way to go as far as seed #s....sometimes I short myself...sometimes I make too many....I'm run and shoot....grow out the offspring...load up and shoot again...those females will carry you...or not lol....It needs to be kept fun...or man..it becomes a serious chore. I'm very interested in this project.

But yeah I see what you guys are saying.The Nevilles are growing so fast that in a week they'll take over that side, I'll have to put them in their own corner... I have one Nevilles male with a bit of a skunkier profile, he shorter and about to be buried under 2 big females. I'll have to double pot these females so they aren't limited in size...

Maybe my head is a bit swelled w/ the HW's and F13 x A11 gone public, but hopefully I've gotten that outta my system, and like you say, have fun w/ it. I'm a capricorn, tend toward the anal, always gotta ring my bell for another perspective.

FWIW Chaco, I'm in a similar place as HL mentioned and I did a little bit of both. Like Pablos mentioned for inlines, I wanted to keep multiple males. Figure with my already limited numbers, I should try even a half-assed attempt at maintaining some sort of genetic diversity.

That said, I've taken HL's suggestion to collect them individually but I have no immediate plans for these. The mixed pollen will be used almost immediately for f2's, to continue the hunt. The idea of having them separate and being able to selectively pollinate and then go back & see what worked best is quite the draw though. Pablos last post about outcrosses actually has me thinking I might use them individually if and when I ever decide to do some outcrosses. I'll keep the females constant so I can attempt some observations at what the males passed on.

Pablos, Shakey is a good read, enjoy. Damn near covers everything you could imagine. I'll have to check out House of Rain.

Highlighter...I don't think your head swelled....but if it did...it would be deserved....those crosses you made will work on several levels....rare/endangered genetics of solid quality...sure your work will make peeps happy. You are more a philanthropist than me...I hope peeps recognize that it takes effort to send that stuff in. I can't manage it...I can barely keep my shit in order...lol....and my lack of faith in peeps in general....makes me cautious of their understanding.

I'm on serious lock down...all hands on deck....my wife called to report a smoke...off in the distance. Man...I hope not.

The temps are going to 100....I fed the scrog at least 50gals of water...added 4 gal of strong Black Strap mix...for the sugars she will want as we baste in the sunshine. I expect a week of plumping...and now with the heat....I'll not starve her yet...this may prolong the grow for an extra week....if I can manage it.

Beans...another thing about making beans....is having the time and abilities to grow everything out....making them is one thing...but growing them...quite another. You need helpers and more space....neither do I have....or really want...but if you get yourself so deep in bean tar...that's the situation. On a hobby level...you can lose yourself pretty quick.....I'm evidence of that.

Having a fat ass sack of beans...is like having a bag of chance... if you put all your best into your projects....the odds of finding the Happy Hunting Grounds are pretty fucking good. It is amazing to watch your own concepts come to be...come to grow...that's the juice...that's what it is all about...to me. When they blow my mind... that is FUN....FUN....I smoke way too much sativa....sitting here on my latest egg.....listening to the wind blow.

Christ in a side car...the amount of time and discipline to make an IBL is just way too much for me. I can't stay with any one line...that long. It goes against my being. I will...however...take full advantage of those IBLs and thank their creators. Everything has its use....and everybody has different visions... When I can share in them....I do. Time changes everything...even IBLs...I would guess.

I'm into Skunks right now...about as IBL as it gets lol...well not mine...but the mom I originally used was...still see her...she shows up.

Dusting...is dusting....get it done anyway you can....I'm doing my Casey F2 inlines tomorrow....did my Killer Chem F2 inlines over the past week....plus an outcross from male side Casey to female side Killer Chem....I've already done and flowered out from the other direction....so Casey Jones X Killer Chemdog...I call that cross "Nuthin' Fancy"...good damn smoke....so now I'm reversing the male/female roles....Killer Chemdog X Casey Jones...still Nuthin' Fancy but going fakey...lol...then I'll blend the two different faces of Nuthin' Fancy....and see what happens.

Nuthin' Fancy (Pronounced)= Casey Jones F1 X Killer Chemdog F1

Nuthin' Fancy (2nd Helping)=Killer Chemdog F2 X Casey Jones F2

Combined they will be the "True" Nuthin' Fancy...in order with the studio albums...if you dig Skynyrd...

What I'm saying is people could grow weed for 20 yrs and still think the chronic was the best they'd ever seen.....So if I don't make something worth popping that can also grow outdoors and be done by Oct 10th at canyon lat. I'm going nowhere..Appreciate all the commentary I knew I was coming to the right place.

...I agree on taste.....and selection ability...is all about taste. My saving grace...in life...I have the ability to make solid selections in peeps, animals, plants etc...no good at making $$$$$ lol....but I can select the cream....more in a producer role.. like I've eluded to in the past. I depend on my inner feelings...1st glance attractions...the good ones...suck you in.....frees up the worried mind.

Also...selecting fast flower...that is extremely important here....I'm pushing my luck past the 1st of Oct.....November is not an option.

I know some parts of New Mex....I've been out and around that way...White Sands to Taos...and in between. Crazy climates...somewhat like mine in places. Love the green peppers.

Love the Chems....Love them....that is quality pot....at the top of the food chain....hard to argue the pot star status of Chem. I get emotional and sensitive over that line.....cheers to those selections...and someone having their shit together...them old timers up in the hills...and cheers to Chemdog for passing them around....and all he's done to progress the line.

LOL...I'm smoking Bastard Haze F2 and Strawberry Hill mixed....I'll show you guys some Skunk spear sometime this week....I have club phenos and spear phenos...and something else that develops slower..interesting Skunks.

....Full sun....temp is close to 100....I checked my RH...with all the water dumped around her this morning.....it's holding in the 30s. My feelings are....if you live in a dry place....you must dump lots of water...keep those roots wet....but keep them cool.

My medium was built with lots of big chunk perlite, coco, worm castings, peat, compost...as a base...it drains fast as per plan....allows me to swim her in the hole...I picture her root mass floating in a flotsam of perlite and worms....the medium washing her roots with fresh feed.

I flow her water until I'm over my ankles in it....from different angles....takes about a 1/2 hr to get it to where I like it....me crawling around....pushing the hose under the screen....lots of cardboard and burlap material under there....to hold moisture and warm the roots in the cold or keep the RH up in the heat...

Anyway...Full sun...Hot day...sailing the ship

This flower...seeded with Thai Haze X Skunk#1....to make SuperSonic. I'm hoping the Thai will kick in and connect with something I can manage indoors. This is probably a potentially reckless cross....but I felt that I had to do it....the concept came to me one day...I wrote it down on a table...with my Sharpie...and that's that. Could be pretty good....or a nightmare....probably a nightmare either which turn....but I would have kicked myself if I hadn't made these beans....it was the priority pollination.



The White Fly are attacking my I-HOP (Highend) germs....and everything else....this weather has really fucked with their heads...and now they've come in with #s....I might have to take some action....just hate having to...but they've broken the treaty....and are hitting my young ones...

...It's the action....when the weather changes...especially with this moon...shit is going haywire...I can't go anywhere....just had a rescue ship overhead...probably going to a heat illness rescue...as some Flatlander caves to the heat...up a trail somewhere. Full response of engines as well....thought they might have broke a fire..but I saw them cancel and return.

Wish I could be out there....I love running in heat...almost like a drugged experience...then finding some poor soul going tits up...just adds to the trip...it can get pretty serious pretty quick...they go down fast. I've been on that edge many Xs....not fun...but you have to be able to function in that state....or you never progress...functioning under exhaustion is almost a spiritual state of being. That's the high...I'm addicted to that state...even to the point..of watching others suffer in it....pretty sick...I know...but it gives me strength somehow...no hate...or negativity...I mean I don't wish it on others.

I get a break tomorrow...get to go out...and it's to be hotter...so I'm eating pinto beans out of the crock pot...smeared on top of corn tortillas...and steadily drinking water...apple cider vinegar....and molasses. The wife will take over the wheel for a few hours...there is a lot of peep activity....some social events around the ville...it is better to keep someone home...keep the ship tight...the winds carry stank...

Exactly how I see it....I don't have fun runs or any fuck around days...it's about getting wasted. I carry 3 water bottles..one on a hand strap...two on a belt...not much else...Cliff bars...but moving away from Cliff bars and into garden foods/nuts.

I water up where I can...streams...or where ever....usually I get by on 3....it's the day and night before that determine hydration and success. I've tuned myself well....I drink less and go further....that's a factor indicating the breaking through of the walls....you can mark improvement in a lonely...self absorbed...sport...where the plateaus can last forever...and looking for milestones lasts for months. It's a mental game....on top of everything else...it's mental. It hurts like a motherfucker...let's not forget the pain...lol...that's important

Breathing in and relaxing in your pain...that's the skill required...to shut down the voices of defeat and reason....that is the game. I see it...no other way. Freedom...is defeating reason.

been back on the bike for a week,living in the pain cave to re adapt my body to making circles,very liberating to be free of the ground pounding...turning circles again,love it,great metaphor for the life of the grower..timer cycles and 12/12 and seedlings and how long to root the clone and harvest and keeping that rhythm,tapping out those beats on the pedals,and snip snip go the trimming scissors...inhale exhale.....

just started some new seeds by the way...f13 next to be popped,Retardo does some fine work,perhaps the casey jones x f13 needs to be bumped up the list...the jones crusher was superb( casey jones x grape krush)...another grower/breeder with a good eye...

...Yup...Where is RM? He hasn't posted in here...him and I...we seem to grow similar themes at times...similar taste. I dig his style...bright dude...he understands the subliminal gibberish that... sometimes...undertone my threads. I'll go looking for him eventually...if he doesn't show up....he's fucking good.

...good that you are back doing the cycle thing....I see a lot of that here...but I like me feet....simple theme....basic....the bikes...now days...wow...lol...like buying a car. It's like skating...or anything else...progressions. Better equipment...bigger pushes...I get lost in the technology....guess that's why I've become more of a runner...still skate....carve down the hills...boards are simple...hitting concrete is simple lol...hurts the same as it always did...maybe for longer though....but I like putting on soft wheels and gliding in silence...finding pockets of energy...getting grip and slide....making something out of nothing....just out of the un evenness of the terrain. Good stuff....find a ditch and you have it all.
