aint nuthin wrong with ownin a pit with an unkwoen pedigre just dont breed him and sell the pups and continue the lie . papers dont make the dog the dog makes the papers. ive seen alot of well papered dogs fail to perform and street dogs that amazed. i persoally woundt breed to either. i would say out of every 10 pups 1 or 2 may be great dogs . papers shouldnt matter for a petbull. just fixem.

great advice

great advice

I've owned only APBT and Amstaff's. My last Amstaff (Lakota Bug) passed Feb 28th. I miss her everyday. She was 15 years old.

I like seeing people give good advice on not practicing back yard breeding, or thinking this wonderful breed is some kind of ATM machine, turning out puppy's for profit.

I'm without a best friend right now, but once spring comes, I'll get a new one.

They are the best breed, all others pail in comparison, just say'in.

Hey Res

Thanks for that bit of info bruh. That's exactly what the guy told me when I bought him. I misspelled the "COLBY" part of the name though. Thanks for the link also, maybe next time I can get a great "true bred" pit from a reputable breeder. :thank you:

Stoney beat me too it, but I was going to say it doesn't matter if your dog has papers or not, just DON'T BREED it and pass on unknown genetics and false hoods that you were told by the guy that sold you your puppy.

Warning:

If anyone is trying to sell you a puppy and they say it American (they are ALL American! American Pit Bull Terrier, duh), or it is Gator Mouth, or it is Gator Head, or it is Red Nose (without giving you which Red Nose Line, or it is Blue Nose (without giving you which Blue Nose Line) run away so fast your Sneakers burst into flames. Those are backyard breeders who know nothing in regards to the dogs.

Sorry for your loss and I hope that you find another great American Pit Bull Terrier, or American Staffordshire Terrier. Good Quality is becoming harder and harder to find.

McLabia,

To keep it simple, see this dogs coat color, see this dogs nose color? Those are hints that this dog has some history of Old Family Red Nose in its history.

I think they call them red due to coat color, i believe blue is the only color that refers to nose/ skin color...

DiiZZii3,

Not all American Pit Bull Terriers carry massive block heads. What makes you assume that your dog is mixed?

Here is a picture of her, in her prime. Miss her so much. "Blackhawk's Tarheel Baby" or Lakota Bug to her friends.
