i think the topped one will become a dark purple frisian , judging by the structure of the buds , if it doesn't get dark purple , you may slap me in the face should we ever meet:D

that topped plant is gonna have HUGE colas , did you support the V shape? if not i advise tying the 2 split stems together with elastics or support each stem with a stick and a rope , whatever , as long as the V doesn't split

Once those buds get real big and bulky and there is a bit of wind you'll have a canna split , not a nice thing

lookin good GM

I still haven't had the guts to return to my spot , gonna go this weekdn for sure , but i heard i lost my 2 biggest plants , all yellow and dead , so I'm not really motivated anymore for this year's outdoor

thanks for that info, would be cool if that topped one makes 2 giant colas. the cages it's in should offer some support, but i will also add more support next time if you think its a good idea.

very sorry to hear that things aren't going so well in your guerrilla spot, maybe they need water?

speaking of purple you know i thought it was a bit purple in the last pics, that's why i was surprised to see it looking so green.

Update spot 2

in order of planting time, as you can see today it was this plant 1 that is showing purple in the buds, will be a 1 cola plant but looks like it could be a nice cola.

plants 3 and 4 (Queenies kids):

grown in coco/local soil mix with added goodies, ferts etc. pretty cool how well they are doing considering i only loosened the soil up a bit and dumped some old coco into it with amendments. this bodes well for using all my old coco this way in future.

Things are starting to look real good Gaius. Will be exciting to follow the v-shaped plant at spot 1. Hope THC123 is a man of his words......The plant stem looks so skinny, but still buds are putting on a lot of weight. I love the look of it! Spot 2 looks good too. Love the overview pic. Finally plants are starting to bud up for you!!! so great.

why don't we make some bets about the v plant (thanks for naming her :)), how much yield do you think she can hold on those stick thin stems, lol. yeah THC123 has promised me a half a pound on that plant roflmao, just kidding.

queeny at spot 2 is my favorite plant, i think she will out yield all of the others. she's the only one that is looking like a proper out door cannabis plant, the rest are all just planted too late to make a good size. or planted in too little direct sun :)

have been working on a small indoor cab for flowering. have been taking a few pics as i'm building, it's a simple 220cm(L) by 110cm(W) and 242cm (H), have hung 2x600w lamps and same ventilation i had in my old room, it's a 1000qm/h scrubber and a 850qm/h silentair ufo ventilator, made a nice window box with a nice frame painted white like all other window frames and a curtain tacked on inside the box to hide the ventilation flaps. anyway i'll write more about it in my new thread when i get it started. if all goes as planned this is gonna be a real nice grow box.

That's a killer sounding cab you're planning on there gaius. I'm planning a 76 x 50 x 190 cm perpetual cab (planning on trying out the 126W penetrator) to satisfy my canna-curiosity over the winter and provide seeds for next year. I can only imagine the show you're going to put on with TWO (!) 600s in a flower cab.

If you're already constructing then I guess you'll have all your planning finished, but in case you're still planning, have you used Google Sketchup? I had always scoffed at it since I usually work with much higher end 3d modeling programs, but for this kind of work, its incredibly easy and useful. I can see what will fit where, how much space there will be for this or that, and plan all my materials before buying.

that sounds like a really useful program/site. is it hard to use it? i'm still making my plans with pencil and paper, which means i end up redoing things lol and running back to the doityourself store 3 times, even though i had most of the stuff i needed laying around in my cellar and attic.

sounds like an interesting experiment with the led light, you should be able to make a ton of seeds in that cab. i hope to make some seeds outdoors next year, i want to get alpine rocket, erocket, typhoon and some more frisian dew and make plenty of seeds for the next time.

It's a program that Google bought and now offers for free (with an additional "premium" version). They make it available for free so that users can model buildings for Google Earth.

It's probably a little counterintuitive at first for somebody that's never used a 3d modeling program, but it doesn't take long to get the hang of, and there's plenty of in-program lessons as well as online help and tutorials.

Definitely worth learning if you plan on doing any good amount of woodworking or other things requiring 3d plans in your lifetime.

That's an aquarium somebody designed with Sketchup. I'd post my grow cab, but I'm not finished designing it. But you can get an idea of the possibilities.

Just download it from http://sketchup.google.com/download/, and then go through the video tutorials at http://sketchup.google.com/training/videos/new_to_gsu.html.

Guaranteed to save you time and headache. Plus it's fun!

sounds like a helpful tool. i can make plans well, just the fitting built stuff in well with uneven walls or windows, has me sawing and re sawing some times to finally get a nice fit. i also want to get a lazer meter, those things make taking measurements so much easier.

will see if i can make head or tail of it, thanks for the link.

hope your guerrilla grow is doing ok too.

Nice closeup of spot 1 :tiphat:

thanks, i think i will start taking my tripod along from next visit on, now that they are all flowering it's worth trying to get some real nice shots. alas i don't really have a good camera for macros. we will see, as they are supposed to make some red and purple flowers on some phenos it should make for some interesting pics with any luck.

think i will go check on my spots 4 and 5 tomorrow, weather has been quite sunny even if not too hot, will be interesting to see if they are finally getting used to the soil switch. i will take some guano with me in case i think they need it when i see them. maybe i'll make them some boost solution, for a one off treat. i should also check spot 3 again one of these days, will be very interesting to see what kind of buds they manage to make with that short amount of direct light they get there. the trees are thinning out now as the leaves slowly die off, which should let more light in :) i just have to hope and pray no rabbits show up and start eating the bark off my not caged plants.

dont expect to much from spot 3 . if a plant has 100 % sun you get 100% harvest if you cut that light to say half day sun you dont get half harvest its more like 25 %. definetely not a linear function......

thanks man, i'll try to keep up the good work, although it's been mostly just looking at them and adding top dressing here and there. lets hope the plants decide to keep up the good work too :)

i am not expecting much from spot 3. i would have had to chop down a few trees to open up the canopy more to make those plants do well. it's kinda sad as they have the biggest holes and the most brought in soil lol. mind you it was just cheap soil from the garden center, still most of my other plants are in less or in pure local soil. basically this year is the trial run, good way to find out which areas are good and how much good earth they all need next year.

hope your Frisians are doing well, would be great to see how they have progressed. i'm very curious to see what they all do under the different conditions i gave them all.

thanks for dropping on in everyone

 yeah right, what's that? that's what i said today when i got to my spot 3 and realized i had not packed it. so once again pics done with point and shoot style. one or two came out quite well even without the tripod. a lot of them are starting to show their colors and trichs :dance013:

got to re size pic and eat first, i'll post them up after that.

back at the times of my traveling, i used to use my walking stick to steady the cam..

its enough for most shots, even longer release waterfall shots and such. give it a shot.. its less bulky than a tripod in the forest :D

peace mate!

sounds like a good idea, will try it.

went out with 4x1 meter bamboo stakes tied to my bike, wanted to give my last 4 plants some support, just in case it gets too windy, or the buds actually get big :)

so i'm peddaling up the hill and want to turn off into the woods the way i normally go to spots 4 and 5 and i see the forest track has been blocked with building site striped planks and a sign saying they are chopping wood in the area and no one allowed to pass. bummer, so i went to check spot 3 instead as i heard the noise of their machines and the trees cracking and crashing. turns out spot 3 is now finally also making 1 cola per plant lol. just not enough light, i'm hoping i still get a nice few joints off each plant, i'm interested in the different phenos of FD.

spot 3 pics this will be my nettle spot from now on, i probably won't bother growing ganja there again. still...

as you can see they re getting chomped on by snails and also seem to be suffering from some kind of deficiency. those rusty spots are only happening in this spot.

so after visiting spot 3 i decided to see if the work had stopped in the area of spot 4 and 5, by then it was gone 1730 and when i got to the blocked path again everything was quite, so i parked my bike took my 4 bamboo stakes and ducked under the barrier to make my way to spot 4 and 5. was crass, felled tree trunks were laying around along the side of the trail, they seem to be clearing some space, after they do that they will replant the area. luckily they are only working in an area on the way and not actually near my spots.

will post the spot 4 and 5 pics next, they also need re sizing :)
