Want to grow, but...Am I being paranoid?

Okay, I want to start an indoor grow again, but I have been paranoid about it and would like your input. Here are the details:

-I live in a large metropolitan city (population >1 million)
-I live in a higher-than average crime area (no rampant street crime, mostly property crime)
-The police have 1-3 helicopters airborne 24/7/365
-12 months ago, a police helicopter circled over MY house under 200 feet for 2-3 minutes; no spotlight on. This occurred 2 or 3 times in one week. I was growing a 400W operation at the time
-As a result of the helicopter circling, I pulled my grow and haven't grown since
-No more helicopters circled my house since
-Every couple of days for the last 2 weeks, I have seen the police helicopter slowly flying over my house at normal altitude (500 feet, perhaps?). This is more frequent than any other time in the last 12 months. It's now happened at 5 PM, 7 AM, 9 PM; the times have varied
-I want to grow again in my cabinet with a 400W light, just like last year
-I keep regular hours, am employed, know my neighbors, my yard is well-kept, I know my neighbors (I hope that is a good thing- heh)
-I DO have a DUI and simple marijuana possession charge from over 10 years ago, and a couple of traffic tickets from 5 years ago. No other criminal record.
-I can't move right now

I want to grow again, but am scared of being on the police's radar and getting busted. The indoor growing season is coming up and I am sure police are not so stupid as to not know that. And if they did suspect me of growing last year, and realized I pulled my grow, why wouldn't they wait until the next season and do some more flyovers to "check up" on me?

I am trying to be rational about this and not overly reckless or paranoid.

What are your thoughts?

Leave UR 400W lamp on, only lamp..and wait.

If ->they suspect UR growing, than->there`s only lamp.
( possesion of HPS is a crime in Your country??)

but you could try growing some vegetable for a time to see if something happens, at least you don't waste the electricity keeping the bulb on with nothing under it.

Hi krusty! Sounds like maybe there is a helicopter pathway over your spot. If a helicopter was checking out your spot, and didn't see anything, they aren't wasting there time coming back. it is very expensive for them. If they did suspect something they would just check out your power bill, and 400W is Nothing. Go grow some plants Krusty! You can't live in fear!!

If you are in the states... its outdoor season. They will look for any patches that are visible from the sky. rows of plants, vivid green with brown other vegetation around it etc.

If you are indoors 100%, 400w is less than half of what my microwave uses, so unless you have odor problems, or are slanging out your front door, I wouldn't worry whatsoever.

Sounds like you are just going to stress yourself the fuck out by trying to grow, but like others have said, 400w could be lighting a reptile enclosure or a saltwater aquarium or a gaming pc...carbon scrubber, no sell no tell

I like the test light idea but you'll probally be fine. Its supposed to be illegal for them to use the flir over anyones house with out a warrant. So how would they know? Not that they follow the law but they would have to explain how they knew if they ever raided ya couldn't say flir idk man best of luck to ya bro

Go ahead and grow a 400W isn't going to screw with the power bill and in a cab in the house in a closet or what ever, I don't think a FLIR is going to get much. Hell, the kitchen range puts out more heat.

dude. your fine. dont be paranoid. 400 watts doesnt pay for helicopter gas. lol. DEA will just raid you, they wont use helicopters on an indoor usually. local pigs use helicopters, but it has to be for a good reason. a 400 watt grow is not.

I like growing in higher crime areas, keeps the pigs busy with other stuff, and people mind their own business a little more in those areas too.
The occasional smell of weed is not that out of place in the hood either.

Fire it back up, I just can't see a little light like that throwing a significant enough heat signature for the airpigs to even notice it, let alone bother with it.

Relax, 400watt is nada and will not show on the radar.

Gotta a 1000 watt in me loft, with helicopters round my parts and above the house, never had a problem or a worry.

Run the shit, grow as many buds as you can, fuck the po po po po po police.

I look at this way. I am going to grow anyways, if the feds/police/whatever are going to take the time to investigate me and bust my door down over a louzy personal 8-10oz, then I guess thats the way shit goes. The best way to get over the paranoia of growing is to just accept the fact that you're growing and if you get caught, you get caught.

Just accept the paranoia and move on.
