A REAL LAWYER who actually practices Criminal Law in California has this to say about prop 19 destroying Prop 215 and SB420... (gues icmag endorses destroying mmj in cali)

THAT IS WHAT A REAL LAWYER SAYS.

That argument is fucking weak. This is the equivilant of saying, lets keep alcohol prohibited because counties can control it to their wishing....

Well ill tell you what, it sure seems to me that people will accept all the problems alcohol brings as long as they are getting paid for it...

Tell me, how many dry counties are left in the USA? And in this time of a economic crisis, who would be arrogant enough to throw the revenue to the wind and stifle something that would bring so many new jobs to the table?

The reason MJ was left for localities to decide is so that 19 wasnt instantly shot down. If 19 took away the town's power to decide if they want legal mj in their community, 19 wouldnt have a chance, and they know this.

It was written so that even people who dont use mj arent instantly opposed to legalization.

And im supposed to trust some lawyer? One who probably reps the very same dispensaries who are opposed to 19? waddafuukkkjoke.....

Not to demean or combat you. However they would just then raise the commercial tax for 1+ acre even steeper. Not saying it's a totally bad idea but the tax needs to be based on a per square yard or square acre basis to be fairly taxed. A whole chain of subsidaries could own 1 acre each and provide for a larger company tax free. Or said company could be large enough to where the current commercial tax from the prop is chump change.

-S.E.

this is why i like the individual municipalities having discretion.
a one size fits all solution in a state as large as california is not practical.government is a lot easier to change at the local level as well. like i said before millages have been known to pass by one vote in rural counties. councilmen rely on complacency a well organized campaign in smaller communities have city council members scurrying like roaches when the light comes on.

Would medical growing for someone else or even gifting more than an ounce be considered commercial grow?
If so anyone growing for a collective would be subject to the commercial restrictions medical or not yes?
It would make the Little Guy subject to local taxes, fees and a reduced price for their produce from competition of large scale commercial producers I would think.

Hah! I can only think of one in tennessee....I read the bottle and am a certified bartender haha.

Sourmash whiskey sure does sound nice about now..

-S.E.:tiphat:

TN is wierd..

cant buy jack daniels inthe county where they make it

no purchase on sunday in a lot of counties (except in bars in davidson co.) only liquor and cigs in a liquor store in nashville NO MIXERS in the same store (bongs are ok though) LOL

i liked eastern TN though...

Sheesh local cut that thing down smaller, is someone trying to compensate? Hahaha jokes bro, but seriously dry county only means it can't be sold there. You can still make it and sell it elsewhere or if you're not distilling you can make a spirit of your choice within reasonable limits for personal consumption. Thanks for continually helping provide information despite its ridiculous format haha.

lol yeah i couldnt wrap the list. but the point is, there are alot of dry counties, and the only way to really stop that from happening is by states creating laws that prohibit dry counties. its something we can all take a page from in our work to make it legal in cali. i even worked on a campaign in texas to eliminate a dry district. i hate texas, people were soooo affraid to sign the petition. no joke they were seriously worried that their neighbors would see their sig.. i just wish i could have spent some time in austin.

Maybe when they came they shot your dog, broke your lamps and killed your plants. When you got bailed out, your neighbors gave you funny looks when you got home.

I had a co-op 15 light op going with my brother in complete compliance with 215 and came home from vacation to find the place trashed, all lamps smashed, all ballast cords cut, plant matter lying everywhere, flat screen tv's missing, laptops and computers missing and a confiscated item list nailed to the wall in the grow.

Had to go through the battle of the court,, pays thousands in legal fees,, spend time in county,,, pretty much thinking my life was fuuuucked.

Yeah 215 is fucking wonderful. Now some shithead cops are watching their precious 24 on my 55" LED flat screens....

THANKS 215!!!!!

now im going to play a skip here ::::

"dont want cops destroying your house and stealing your tvs,,computers,, watches ((basically anything worth taking)) while intentionally smashing windows and breaking doors that had no locks and steal all your genetics and fuck up all your hard earned work????

THEN FUCKING LEGALIZE IT!!! VOTE YES FOR 19!!!!!

dry counties are AWESOME!!!!!

that's America at its core. a thousand small experiments and localities with small differences for every palette. have you ever lived in a dry county? guess who loves dry counties SMALL BUSINESS MEN who live in them. set up shop right at the county line with liquor stores and bars.

Eliminating dry counties sounds kinda unconstitutional and well wrong. Taking away a locales ability to self govern just seems wrong. Just my thought on it anyway.

And this has to do with what? LOL.

I'm simply pointing out the wording of the Bill. If that offends you, that's your problem. You have posted more false claims in this thread meant for no other reason than to try and spread fear. It's odd how earlier today the thread got civil without your fearmongering and upsetting people with your unfounded statements.

I posted the Bill. If there's something you care to refute, have at it.If you're only intent is to make foolish comments, take a walk....

you are in New York... do you know about California's prop 13? Have you actually read our states Tax code? Have you ever dealt with our states two main tax agencies, Board of Equalization and Franchise Tax board? Have you ever done the taxes and had them accepted by the IRS for a legitimate weed business?

Dude I'm sorry but your outta your fucking element and don't understand how things actually work in California.

I concur!! But please ppl...(Not intended for you BHT--) Please quit trying to say that anybody with questions is the enemy-- We are not!!
We are all merely ppl...who like you, are fighting the good fight--
But with questions--
Can anybody really say they trust this Prop soooo much, that they do not have questions about it? If so, sorry...but you should never "Not Question" anything!!
Vote for the progression of Legalization...Vote Yes on 19...but, do not be fooled...Prop 19 is not Legalization...it is merely Regulation-- It says so in the Title--:tiphat:

I'm sorry but I have been affected by this war. They have been unethical. When you are fighting an unfair opponent who cheats, then ethics goes out the window. They have none. What does it gain us to lose ethically? So we can say "AT least we didnt cheat" while we sit in jail?
better to sit in jail my friend than surrender your integrity.

if you follow this logic you slide down the slippery slope
that leads eventually to you being no better than your enemy.

and btw, you're not the only one who has been affected.

Remember the tactics the Cong used. Remember the Tet offensive? They attacked during a cease fire. Was that ethical? Your prohibitionist government learned lessons then and has been using them. Fuck ethics in this fight. Find another cause to be ethical in. We could have been ethical during the 70's but this is a different day and age. Your government full of liars has caused so much pain and misery just to achieve power. Why in the hell should we worry about ethics?

at the end of the day man, your word is all you have
that has any value and each lie you tell makes the next
one much less distasteful than the last.

if we allow ourselves to follow this flawed logic than
it'll be ok for us to behead muslim extremists because
they did it to us.

no, when i lie on my deathbed the only thing i take
with me is my integrity.

The means justifies the end in this case. Dont lose the fight just to be ethical, this isnt a sporting event, it's lives we are talking about here now.

no man, the ends don't justify the means, ever, you
are either a man of principle who does what he feels
is right or your not.

and now you have a chance to be a man of conscience,
a chance to do the right thing AND protect yourself
at the same time!

it's time brother, it's time to regain our dignity and
free the weed so we no longer have to hide!

EDIT: But yeah fuck the assholes trying to protect an income stream. They should learn 2 business better. Better products, better genetics, better methods. That will always demand the highest dollar even in a passed prop 19 market. Peace

like i already said, if you have a legitimate need for
medical reasons than you will be protected by 215
but if that is your only concern than you have already
lost your integrity and are only concerned with yourself.

peace, SOG

Vote Yes On Prop 19 !!! (for those who don't
have a legitimate medical need and are still being oppressed)

that's where things got strange, that's exactly what they are trying to do, tax your own personal grow
utterly bogus, hopefully their ass will be handed to them on a plate at the first stage of the court process

jesus christ... you guys act like they already are taxing personal grows!!!!!

that fucking shit RC has proposed HAS TO BE VOTED IN BY THE VOTERS OF RC!!!!!! WHY DONT YOU FUCKING UNDERSTAND THIS?????

and this is the bullshit I DONT WANT NO FUCKN LEGALIZATION AT ALL stance....

1 person in 1 town in some shit stained part of california can throw up a proposal left to the voters to decide on and all of a sudden 19 is the worst thing since herpes?????

fuck its really not hard to see that it dont matter what is in this bill. the people profiting off 215 just dont want it. they dont want legalization they just want to keep making an easy fucking buck.

so tell me oh wise ones.... if with 215 we can grow AS MUCH AS WE WANT..... then why is price still so fucking high???? hmmmm???? i thought this would bring the price down???? but if it diddnt ,,,, what the fuck would 19 possibly do to change this????

oh evil mr richard leee and his schwag is going to plummet the price???? hbahahhaha if you believe this your a fucking M-O-R-O-N.

i was at a concert the other night and lit up a fuckn joint and had some piecve of shit bouncer get mouthy with me about ""smoking that fuckin weed" and these faggot little prick calls up 7 bouncers to TRY and escort me out,,,,well shit they found out that wasnt going to work !!!!!!! bring 20 of them fuckin gorillas,, you going to need every one of em....
