This thread is retarded, people talking about nothing!!! Start discussing the facts "sacramento Bee says $60 dollars an ounce if legalized... its basically already legal, what this bill is saying is its legal but in my opinion its already legal in small amounts, the cops just throw it away most the time so therefore its pretty much already legal. whats going to change is the bigs boys will jump in and drop the price, I am still voting yes because I believe this is a chance for the real entrepreneurs to shine without fear of being attacked or messed with but Im still skeptical so my vote might change...

im sick of hearing the "5x5 is enough, you suck at growing..i can pull 3lbs every harvest out of 5x5 blah blah blah"

what may satisfy you doesnt satisfy other growers. 5x5 is petty pipsqueak bullshit limits aimed specifically at momnpop growers. and 5x5 PER RESIDENCE is also a huge bullshit restriction. who cares if im protected under 215....under 19, you should be able to grow all the fuck you want, not be limited by some bullshit limit that will bite your ass in court when they arrest you anyways.

dude is your head really that far up your ass? do you think anyone other than growers and gangbangers would vote for a bill that would make it easier for you to sell on the streets? that part of the bill is there to help with the crime problem that sellers and buyers are funding. And if you are selling bulk to other than dispensaries, then thanks for that by the way, thanks for fucking that one up for us!

im sick of hearing the "you're on the side of LEO"
so the fuck what?? we may be on the anti side...but the reasons are on different parallels. they have their moral anti marijuana attitude, and yes they love busting drug dealers too. We are trying to protect our way of life. most growers make a living through what they do, play the game, take the risks, reap the rewards. no risk no revenue thats how most of us live by...how can you blame them for wanting to protect their revenue source??? i grow and broker weed because i dont want to be a damn pawn in the 9-5 game. i do this shit because im my own CEO, i dont wanna fucking work for agrafarm making 50k a year growing THEIR WEED when i can make 100k growing and selling my buddies crops.

Really? So somebody owes you something? Should all the people in the state be funding your "I'm too good for 9-5" ass? Get real! You don't like to pay taxes? So LEO is doing YOU no good? you would prefer lawlessness, or no schools and let all the kids turn into gangbangers. Hopefully you just feel that you are special and don't actually prefer that there is some form or unorganized chaos to rule the land. People need to pay taxes, we don't need to like them but we need to pay. Nobody likes where a lot of the money goes but much of it is used for the greater good. Most of the people voting on this bill pay taxes and are pissed that you aren't chipping in. Every dollar you don't pay is another dollar somebody else has to pay on your behalf. It is like we are already being taxed for our weed, no?

Also, don't assume that just because this is a pot growing site that everyone here is looking to make a living off of it. Matter of fact MANY of us are here because we specifically DON'T want to associate with dealers. Keep under the radar, grow for personal and hook up a buddy every now and again. Maybe a few years ago the grow scene was all about people trying to make a kill, but it isn't as much that way now. THAT is why we are even looking at legalization. People are slowly but surely coming to the conclusion that pot isn't a big deal. Closet growing is a response to that.

im sick of the "you grow bullshit, adapt and make a living under 19"
All the energy being spent refuting this bill would be better used in preparing yourself for what you will do if/when it passes.

this whole argument is based on the pipe dream of marijuana tourism, hemp shirts LOL, and other momnpop non-lucrative BS side businesses that you ASSUME can be run under Tax and Regulate 2010. "you can still make money selling your OG kush for 1500 a pound" GTFO HERE!!! yeah!! im willing to take a 50% drop in revenue while richard lee and oakland make millions!! WOOHOO!

Well certainly this is conjecture, but I think it is safe to say that within the first week of a hash bar being opened in CA, the hotels will be booked and the airlines will be creating additional flights. Speaking as someone who has never been to Amsterdam, I would kill to hang out in a cafe and sample from their jars! Of course there isn't anything specific on those types of businesses in the prop because that would be cause for some people NOT to vote for it. Some places won't want it... at first. Instead it is up to the local gov's and not all, but some will certainly embrace that type of business, and hemp t-shirt factories, and small scale commercial ops. Not everywhere but it will start that ball rolling. Oh and yeah... your OG Kush can kiss my ass. I would rather pay tax to the government than profit to gangs or "compassion centers" that sell for street prices.

im also sick of everyone whoring out the legalization term. "DUUUUDE ITS GONNA BE LEGAL...NO MORE PEOPLE IN JAIL DUDE! WE CAN SMOKE ON THE STREET AND NO ONE WILL HARASS US YAAAAH!"
If pot is legal they don't have probable cause for things that would normally get you busted. That's what legalization does for you.

stop smoking dog shit. this aint legalization ITS TAX AND REGULATE. nothing about 19 really makes things more legal than they are under 215, in many peoples eyes in more restrictive.
Only for the commercial growers who don't have the stones to go legit... well them and leo, who you are siding with. and whom your vote will be tallied with as just another vote AGAINST Cannabis!

They are angry at the gray area that we have under 215. they are angry that normal joes are clocking a decent salary tax free growing plants...so they want to shut it down plain and simple.
Who is they? The tax paying citizens? Yep! The people who want to legitimate Medical mj? Yep! The people who don't want their kids to have access to MJ on the street? Yep! Do you think the MMJ law was written so you can make money at it? Compassionate use... that's in there right? WTF is so compassionate about you bitching about the price of your OG going down? that is a fucking joke. 215 is supposed to help sick people gain access to medicine, NOT help a bunch of greedy thugs make tax free money!

"Id rather them tax and regulate, than fine and imprison,"
'

WHY CANT YOU LEGAL EAGLES SEE THIS ISNT THE CASE. ITS GONNA BE TAX AND REGULATE, PLUS PRISONS AND FINES FOR THOSE WHO DONT COMPLY WITH THEIR SKIMPY LIMITS.
Yes. People selling weed will get arrested. That is one purpose of this prop. Just read the first page! THAT is why a lot of people signed it. that is why non-smokers are for it. That is why political figures have gotten behind it. Smokers got behind it because they can more easily get quality weed, and not worry about getting busted for personal amounts, and not loose their job because of unfair piss tests. Those are things that sold this bill. Nobody considered, or will ever consider the grower who wants to scam their way out of taxes. Not on a legal document anyways!

whatever...im not trying to convince any of you to vote NO. im just letting you legal eagles know that in november me and almost every single person i know will be voting NO on 19. You cant throw a rock in the bay area without finding people who make decent underground living in the grey area of 215, from cash croppers to trimmers to brokers to the guys selling small sacks.

why the hell would any of us want to give up our industry to richard lee and his overpaid barons, so they can kill the black market and kill our livliehoods and all the satellite businesses that thrive because of it.
I love how people bash Lee and then claim to love 215! He made money off 215 just like you except he is better at it. He is the product of your precious 215! Don't think for a second he is going to open his canna-factory any time soon. The DEA will stop in for that one. Surely he knows this! He is going to get his plants going and then they are going to come rip them down, throw them in a pile, and then fuck him in his ass on said pile. Then, as has been said before, this is when the federal fight begins for national legalization. Keep in mind that he has no more guarantees than you guys do that this is going to benefit him in the end. He's rolling the dice on this one. He is going to be the DEA's primary target.

why the hell would any of us want to give MORE CONTROL to an already inept and idiotic government, one that spends spends spends, then looks to tax shit when their books dont balance.
They have the control now... you don't see it that way I guess, but they do. They can take you down any time.

ESPECIALLY WHEN MOST ARE ALREADY SATISFIED WITH 215. what benefits does 19 give us seriously???? So the average guy can smoke a doob and grow a small grow.....UM HE CAN ALREADY DO THAT UNDER 215!!!!!! HES NOT GOING TO JAIL ANYWAYS!!!!
No random piss testing
LEO has no "reasonable cause" for normal use/possession
Potential for a blossoming of similar props in other states that will further the national movement for both rec and med.
I think you caught on with the home supply vs personal possession thing.
Jobs in and around cannabusiness/tourism.
Public places for people to hang out, smoke multiple varieties of weed without fear of prosecution.
Reduced crime or at the very least funding for criminal groups and cartels.
An opportunity to legitimize your life long passion of growing resin encrusted tr3es.
Legal scientific testing that will further the medical and recreational scene.

there are more but I'm getting a little tired!

If richard lee wanted to appeal to more people, he would have left the 5x5, 1 grow per residence, 1oz in the street, 18-21 limits off the books. but NO, he put that shit in there because he is taking direct shots at those who operate under 215. richard lee knows Blue Sky sucks and has a terrible reputation, so he wants to level the playing field by allying with the government and big business to simply wipe the competition out.
only growers and dealers would vote for this thing if it allowed people to grow more than for personal consumption! Many people see this as a crime reducing measure, and allowing people to grow fields of it isn't going to reduce crime, it will only make it worse, and make prices drop further too. Lee is going to be a drop in the bucket. CA will need far more product than he can ever produce, and better product too.

seriously....take those ludicrous limits off the ballot, and il vote YES on 19. no amount of "215 is safe" is gonna convince me because i know how shady people in power work. once 19 is passed, they will begin to chip away at 215 bet you.
if 215 isn't safe after 19 it isn't safe now. From afar, CA MMJ laws are seen as a joke and what was once seen as a great thing for people in need and inspired other states to undertake similar programs is now seen as a reason to NOT allow MMJ. Sure another states opinion doesn't affect CA growers, but it does affect the movement for MJ/MMJ.

Former Reagan Official Advocates Marijuana Regulation
by Mike Meno

Bruce Fein served as a high-ranking Justice Department official during the Reagan administration, and has since gone on to work for conservative think tanks such as the American Enterprise Institute and the Heritage Foundation. Now, as a member of the “Just Say Now” advisory board, he’s joined the growing number of conservatives who are calling for a legal and regulated marijuana market.

Thats a good video keep them coming.

You got it!

Remember "Just Say No"? Well now there is "Just Say Now" :)

Just Say Now

by Mike Meno

Progressive political blog FireDogLake launched its online marijuana legalization campaign yesterday. Complete with a website and an advisory board that includes former law enforcement officers, physicians, and activists, the campaign—called “Just Say Now”—is designed as a “transpartisan” nexus of sorts for the growing nationwide movement to end marijuana prohibition.

Partnering with FDL for the campaign is Students For Sensible Drug Policy, which recently made an excellent decision by naming our former colleague Aaron Houston as its new executive director. Though we miss Aaron’s presence in the office, his new position ensures that he’ll continue to play a leading role in combating the destructive policies of marijuana prohibition.

For more, check out this clip of FireDogLake founder and publisher Jane Hamsher announcing the “Just Say Now” campaign on CNN.

Do you know what a fascist or fascism is? It is the union of corporations and government that extracts wealth from the workers of a community through government policy and taxation and transfers the wealth to individuals through corporations and government contracts.

No, no it's not -- and every time you use the term incorrectly you diminish the plight of people who are living, or have lived, under a genuine fascist regime.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/fascism

fascism
–noun
1.
( sometimes initial capital letter ) a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.

Regulation, taxation and other forms of control do not equate to fascism. There exists a stream of thought that wishes to frame any form of limit whatsoever as fascism, but that doesn't make it correct.

actually there is more than one definition for fascism. they get confused often.
