You know, man, you live and learn. What would have happened had I only planted 3 or 4 of the Chem D x NL pheno #5....???!!! Then I'd have a plot of short, not doing so great under the real sun...and be outta luck for the season. In retrospect, I think I'm doing alright...I need to train the girls on the edges down and out to the sides more....it really would do wonders for the side branching I'm sure...

So all in all, this has been a MASSIVE learning experience. You can tell from the beginning of the thread, I had been processing a ton of information and trying to do what was best for my given situation and environment.

I was checking the sunrise/set charts...and I'll be hitting 14hrs of light by the end of the month, which means the plants are going to start their changing within another 3-4 weeks.

I honestly think I've got another 30 days at the VERY most, before these ladies start to turn....

Right now, my only real issue, is I think I've got some leaf minners out there chompping away on my plants...and I need to get that under control before things get any worse. It isn't TOO bad, but they are present, and they need not to be. I am going to sprinkle some dicho. earth on the leaves of the plants the next time I know it isn't going to rain for a few days...and let that shell slice their leaf munching guts! THIS IS WAR!

My next biggest concern / worry at this point, is how wet everything has stayed this entire year. If we don't have a MUCH, MUCH drier late fall, then I'm might be having some issues with mold and rot. That and hoping everything finishes up fully before the frost gets here...

Most should be budding for about a week now , with alternate branching for a few , no? If any of your strains have large/dense flowers, get a mold game plan down. Right when the plants are finishing up , it always get cooler, rainy and humid . What's the humidity been up until this evening? Check out TH's forum , he has some good mold remedies.

Well, I already use the organic super solution for outdoor bugs / issues. (hope it works)

Dichotomous Earth. Will kill and deter:

Ants, fire ants, caterpillars, cut worms, army worms, fleas, ticks, cockroaches, snails, spiders, termites, scorpions, silver fish, lice, mites, flies, centipedes, earwigs, slugs, aphids, Japanese beetles (grub stage), fruit flies, corn earworm, cucumber beetles, corn borer, sting bugs, squash vine borers, thrips, loopers, etc., etc...

Being a super fine, dry powder...it is also a great combatant for PM..(powdery mildew). You can make a mild water solution and spray it onto affected areas. It works.

Not to mention, when mixed into the soil, is one of the best organic silica sources you could possibly use, which contributes to the plant having a stronger, tougher "vascular" structure, thus improving the strength of the stalks, stems, leaves...etc...

Oh...and it's cheap.

I'll try to get some more pictures up before too much longer....

**edit** taken from a website...same as the list of pests...

They got to be huge by now. Interested in seeing the progress! Seen a few outdoors in the area that are really taking off and budding nicely for early August. I miss outdoor , but not the deer, mold the last 2 weeks prior to harvest , and shitty friends.....

well, that is in part what I LIKE about it.

It is something that can VERY easily be washed away, without and residue or left over ick.

Make sure you have 3 or 4 good clear days...and you can really put a hurting on anything near the garden...

looking good out here.

as far as the chem d x NL cross...which NL is it that was crossed? NL#2 isnt that big of a yeildier but it makes up for it in potency. Also talk to Rez to be 100% sure but if my recolection is correct Chemdog is an Indica so that would be why they are branching out more than growing tall.

Also for future next time...I dug a hole that fit exactly 1-gallon of soil in it and planted a 1' jack herer clone in mid May...now its a 6'x6' bush...next year I'd go for seperate holes that are spread out so 1 plant doesnt shade out the next but thats just me...if I were running 1 giant hole like that I'd run a SOG or something...

Hopefully you hit the 1# per mark! Im hoping to hit that as well with a few of my plants...maybe even 2# out of my jack if I pray to the ganj gods ;)

good luck and stay safe!

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=178964

The male is from Reefermans stock. From best I can tell a NL#5 line, which if you do some research on when he was working with that line, it was 03-04 ish. That would put the male, either from seed stock that old or he himself would be that old. Either way, I can't remember the EXACT detail. Ask the breeder, may he could provide more information. The seeds I had simply said "NL x Chem D". I know the NL was the father, mother was the clone.

Growing in the garden, is also Chem D, clone. It is branching the way it is b/c it was topped multiple times while it was potted. Also, it has been cut on many times while in the great outdoors. The D is very vigorous, and doesn't seem to mind all the hacking away on her. However, when pictured, she was still plenty tall at about 5'8 in the beginning of July. She will hit the 10ft mark.

The one Trainwreck that is taller than the rest of the garden, is the only plant that was never topped. The other TW ladies there are about the exact same height as the Chem D plant.

DIATOMACEOUS EARTH works great and is easy on the pocket book
I like the more gentle organic approach myself
Eistein neem oil has been working great for me for the leaf miners

DE is organic. There are different grades. This would be either food or horticultural grade. Not the chemical grade used for pools...that would kill much more than your bugs...hehehe.
I find it to be "gentle".

I've never tried neem oils of any sort...

No I was talking horticultural type of DE
I have other pets and things so made absolutely certain beforehand:)

Neem oil is an all natural insect repellent that works great on many critters
I noticed you were a caregiver so figured you grew organically like myself

Its great to see you are doing so well.
You always did know your stuff:tiphat:
