Does guano take a while to sink down into the soil after a topical application? Or does it just get dissolved completely at the first watering?

Because if it takes a while, how do you flush it? I've got great drainage (native overburden is only centimeters deep, so I've essentially got potting soil filled holes in sand and rock), but I don't want to end up with soil all ferted up and have some bunk or unhealthy buds.

my guano is very fine powder so i imagine it will get flushed into the medium pretty quickly, but how long it takes to get used is a good question, partly it will depend on how much you use. not using too much should insure that the plant can use it all up before harvest. to me the flavor is very important so i will go on the lower side rather then the higher side when it comes to fert application in general, but specially non water soluble ferts.

cool, nice gadget to have. are they pricey? must be fun t see the wildlife at night.

they can be pricey but i got mine off EBay at a decent price from a hunting store . They are good but it took me a while to get used to seeing everything in green , when you see an animal the eyes light up like beacons , i have an image intensifier/infa red rifle sight as well & they are real pricey for the good un`s .

Stay green .

probably not some thing i'll be needing till i expand Mexican style next year, roflmao.

did you see my post with the guano ingredients? you think that will do the job for flowering?

didn't do the check up on spot 4 and 5 today as i was too tired this evening. i guess they were either eaten the first night, or they are still there so....

Yes , but that is only what i have read on the organic threads . I have no experience of Gauno myself , it`s not so easy to find UK & what i have found dosen`t warrant the cost when there are other alternatives cheaper . At the moment i`m using an Oganic tom feed with an ocassional Bonemeal tea (have for several years) & happy with the results . I`m in the process of clearing some ground for Comfrey/Chamomile & i may have a crop ready next year with an increase in the amount of plants yearly as they mature .

Just droppin by really quick looks like its been good for you man, Ive been busy chopping and cloning the hell outta everything and making budder and other such edibles, apparently they are in higher demand and way better to travel with lol

keep up the learning as I am as well a dog knocked over one of my up and comers and from the 8" mark upward all new growth went male... found a solution chopped it down and turned it into 5oz of tincture (6foot tall white widow down... :( learned my lesson about animals hopping baby gates)

later on bro

hehe the cages are a bit primitive, i will tie some cross pieces next time so the wire doesn't get lose like it does in places. but they are doing the job for now. specially area 1 seems deer prone.

as i got this guano for free i thought i'd use it this year and go for some alternative solution once its used. gave spot 3 plants a small portion of guano each today. alas they are not looking good, thin stems, tall and lanky. not enough sun.

lol calling it ninja might give you a slightly wrong impression

i do spend considerable effort to be stealthy, but not always easy, specially when you trying not to leave a path, you step on bits of branch or stones or bushes of grass, anything to stop you making a print in the mud or a slide mark. but doing that quietly is still beyond me, lol. if i hear anything i just hunker down and wait till all's quite again.

yeah i really have to bring queeny her dose of guano and the others too. did a check on my newest spots, 4 and 5 and it seems 5 was found. the 2 plants were still there, but there was a dead branch stuck in the lose soil at the base of one of them that wasn't there when we put them in. who ever found them obviously wanted me to know they were found, so i don't know what to make of it. a ripper would just come back at harvest and take them and not bother leaving a sign. maybe a forester with a sense of humor?

here's how the local forester protects his young plants

on the way along the path i saw the enemy of cannabis in snail format

is this pile of wood chips and leaves any use for next years soil?

couldn't post this pic before, 25's my limit for 1 post. anyway the whole thing in spot 5 with the dead tree branch made me un comfortable, specially after hearing barking from not too far away i decided to take some pics and get the hell out of there, after a quick sprinkle of game repellent that is. was nice to see they had not been eaten too.

some how some one found this spot and has not killed the plants. would be awesome if it's a cool forest worker guy who doesn't care if i plant a few plants there. but that's being optimistic i must admit, maybe a ripper maybe another grower who does the same thing in the area? i could see no recording devices in the few trees in the immediate surroundings. can hardly imagine them setting up cameras for some guys 2 plants anyway. but i had a hard look anyway in my paranoia :)

peace out, update for spot 3 next.....

NO . Too much cellulose in them to break down , can take a few years b4 their rotted down enough . Ok as a mulch around the plant but this can also present a home for slugs to hide out . Also if the chips are pine tree forget them all together as they`ll up the acidity of your planting holes .
With the present of a branch someone has left a message but fook knows what , it could be anything . I`d leave them alone then visit when you know their going to be very near ready for the cut according to your other plants . If they are still there then cut & run praising your luck . It`s a pity you can`t string up some brown or green cotton across the trail somewhere very near the plants to leave a sign that visitors are coming back , deer bugger that idea . If you ever suffer from a ripper you will understand why we hate them , it all boils down to good karma .I have found a few guerilla grows myself & left them alone wishing the grower good luck as iv`e walked away .
Guerilla growing is an adventure in itself & we all get highs & lows , fingers x`d yours is on the HIGH side .

hahaha to true, i feel like a newbie all over again. find myself reading stuff again i first read 15 years ago. with a bit of work i should have some thing indoor to show again soon :) been procrastinating about building my new personal smoke flowering box, for doing test strains etc.

Yeah, spot#3 looks great, I don't know if u did it on purpose or not but those tall, lanky plants blend right in! :tiphat:
Haha!

that is actually spot 4 in the pic you quoted, as far as i can tell all is well there, although the plants were looking a bit pale, was wondering if i was too sparing with my bio npk fert powder, or if it's the strong sun we've been having. funnily enough i thought the soil was so perfect there, but so far spot 5 plants look like they have the best soil from spot 4 and 5. it's spot 5 that's been found though.

Yeah. Awesome Ninja work there:bump:

lol that is just because the plants were in small pots in my veg cab, they are actually branching more then most of my others. but they sure are more stealthy with out those cages i made in area 1 :)

well i probably won't plant there again, but if the plants there make it to harvest i will. maybe not same spot but that area is great because it's open and the sun gets at the plants all day long. seems the kind of area you could grow giants if you do it all right.

makes me glad the plants are all spread around like they are...

i have the long term growers innate hatred for the despicable life form known as the common garden ripper. have known good friends have places broken into and lost due to the brake in due to getting busted after neighbors call the cops to report said brake in. other mate has had his whole out door crop stolen 2 years running one time. he had to start spending the last 3 weeks on this piece of land in the middle of nowhere in a shed to guard his plants till harvest.

i just think a ripper wouldn't give is game away by leaving a sign of having found the plants. it's all a bit strange and i will stay away as much as possible. although i have every right to be in that area, so it's not like they can prove any plants are mine even if i'm standing there i could have just found them. yeah i'm wracking my brain trying to think what this message could mean lol.

thanks for the info on the heap of wood chips. i noticed in the pic the branch almost looked like it was there for stealth, to hide the cannabis plant?

i really like how bushy this one is, they both look like indica phenos, good thing i topped this one a few days before we took them outside about 10 days go...

looking small but healthy

if you topped them , they will prolly grow for a bit longer before flowering which is a good thingµ

some of those small ones should still give you 20-50 grams per plant cuz FD makes big buds

those 4 plants were the last 4 i had vegging, i just put them in the soil that was there. just loosened it up and mixed some amendments in. so they might not make very big buds, as they will have to adapt to the soil. i'll be happy if i get 20-30g of each of those. 2 of them have a very low chance of bringing me anything, as they seem to have been found.

was thinking with a strain like lr2 you could use the corn fields no problem as you will be harvesting nice and early. we have corn fields all around here so that would save preparing the soil, one could just clear out a row or 2 of corn for a few meters and plant a see of green of lr2 :)

peace out

wanted to do that this year but just was too busy , the thing is really picking the right time for that to avoid the corn getting too high in rlation to the LR2

yeah would be real nice , just planting an watering once , and then 3-4 weeks later return to cull the males , wait 7-8 weeks and then harvest

next year i wanna try that especially since prolly my guerillia spot will be a vacationresort for rich punks by then

I hope you can harvest all of your frisians

gaiusmarius Sucks that spot 5 got found bro i would not go back there at all just for the fact that it's not worth it...

I would suggest u use that pile of wood chips and leaves you just need to add a manure to it when u mix it in to speed the decomposition up...Those green plants and grass can be used to do the same thing just mix them together when your getting the holes ready...

The problem i always think about when it comes to corn fields is that then farmer will be out there at some time and he has every right to be so i could be seen at anytime so i would rather not grow on his land...

You should try to find old factory areas as there's space and nobody go's tracking in the woods after work...Hope this helps
