Whats up with Spain and cannabis?

So, a medical user with legal papers in order, can easily take the trip? I can legally import 3 months usage into my country.
Would the export\travelling from spain raise any problems?

i was in barcelona, hash was as easy as going to christopher columbus and looking south toward the palm trees, good hash everywhere, not too sure about valencia, but if you stop in the barc, it's easy. same with san sebastian and zarautz. nice sativa nugs around up north too, quality!

Looking for any recommendations for picking up hash in Valencia.

The red light district is behind the central market in the old town. Roughly between here and the Torres del Quart is the bars and clubs district. You'll see people smoking here during the evenings, especially at weekends. Hunt around El Tossal.

The good waves starts on september, con las mareas vivas......:jump:

I live near gipuzkoa so i use to bodyboard at zarautz and i like the french area better than gipuzkoa and bizkaia..... anglet is my best spot... acotz is so nice http://cdt64.tourinsoft.com/uploadtif/MEDIA_a7ed2ef0-5032-427d-bd33-569c1fe7d652.jpg, small bays with stone floor.... but nice leftssss and dont need to fight for go inside:bump:
Hossegor and cabreton are cool,,, but thats far and is Las Landas... the bad thing at the basque french area is the CRS - french police:moon:
The bodyguards at the beaches that they look like nice surfers..... are policemen... so take care about joints.... and is full of secret policemen... i had some funny experiences with them...:cathug:

France is boring too, so i recomend to stay at gipuzkoa and travel around... u can be in any beach in less than 45 min...

Hi there! I also recommend Basque Country for those cannabis user looking for unique smoking-friendly places in the world.

Well, as you can see on my nick, i´m not 100% objetive, as now i live also near there  so yeah it´s a fucking free place for stoners in public places ( here people smoke a joint almost everywhere, crazy for some non-smoking visitors i guess! ), except for the various police forces operating there (not focused on cannabis users, but you know guys, police on act+weed= not the best mix )

Prices are not the best, on the other hand. If´you are looking for cheapest prices , Basque Country is definitively not your option when visiting Spain and southern France. Prices are similiar to the euro average, but off course the cannabis situation is better than those in france, germany, italy, etc...

I would recommend too to stay at Gipuzkoa, also Bizkaia is nice, french basque country is boring if you are looking for street live, pubs, smoking, etc but is nice for surfing, awesome natural places in the inner part and more.

aio!

For what it's worth, it's the Basque region that's the hemp heaven. I've been to Bilbao, Mundaka and then San Sebastian and in all three places found the best of weed. No rip offs, friendly people and also smoking in public. In Mundaka we we're not only given some class weed for free we were also even smoking in the bars at night - lots of surfers, chilled out, no problems. Honestly some of the friendliest people I've ever met.

I heard a story from one of the locals there that the police had raided a grow-op greenhouse and taken all the plants. They hauled the folk who ran it to court where the judge ended up telling the police to give back everything they'd taken - including the plants :) I forget the name of the place now but I did check this out on the net when I returned home (2007) and I definitely did find a story about it too. I remember reading that it was 14/15 people, all working in full time jobs, told the judge that they came together so they could afford the rent of the land and the building of the greenhouse to grow it for their own use. The bottom line is the Judge saw no problem with that.

Anyway I'm uploading a pic too that I took in a park in Bilbao. It's a pic of some guys sitting on a bench and rolling up. It's cool as fuk :D I remember thinking "holy shit man, I wish the rest of the world was like this. This is better than Holland." There they were, not a worry in the world. People walking around everywhere and not paying the slightest bit of attention. Another thing I thought was very cool - the lighters. You can only buy lighters in tobacco shops or out of vending machines in the street but the funny thing was that every single lighter - no matter where you bought it - had some hemp related logo on it. Even people who only smoked cigarettes were using lighters with MJ motifs on them, y'know? It was like an overt promotion of it. Also, in the vending machines in the street, beside the lighters slot was a rizla slot :D Wicked!!!

The thing is though - if the Basque people hear you calling it Spain they'll flip. It is - officially - but they don't like it one little bit. It's Basque and they speak Basquez - it's not Spain and they don't speak Spanish. I found that out the hard way :D I think they'd just do anything to be different to Spain and that's why it's the way it is lol Once you understand these things though - it's really quite cool and don't get the wrong idea folks - I've met plenty of folk there from both Madrid and Barcelona. The people from the Basque have no problem with folk from Spain - just once you don't got a Spanish tattoo or go waving a Spanish flag around  Anyways - here's that pic.

nice pic! that´s the traditional street joint smoking in the basque country!

The story you are telling about some courts giving back the weed to local growers...i think you are talkin about Pannagh: a non profit association based on Bilbao, the first Cannabis User Club ( similar to those Cannadian ones ) developed in Spain. Some rogue local polices stormed their greenhouses years ago, but Pannagh have done a nice legal work and they had various permissions from the basque government etc, all the plants where well documented as a colective growing, etc...so the Court at Bilbao say " Give back those buds to their legal owners, who grow them in a private place for private purpouses as a non-profit collective"

I've spent time in Andalucia, and its mostly imported Moroccan hash. Its still illegal, but highly tolerated (restaurants, bars, beaches, clubs, etc.). We did manage to hook up with some locals and get some FIRE buds, comparable to anything in California or Netherlands!

Also, Granada is full of pot, you smell it in the parks and in the streets! Crazy college party city!

I remember smoking White Widow for the first time in Sevilla, stumbled upon some guys in the park, lots of people drinkin' and smoking. It was called botaglion I think. Its happening in parks and streets in Spain all year long.
When I smoked ww I god wrecked and soon returned to hotel wondering man how fcked up I got! lol
Also when I was in Malaga I scored some good blonde morroco hash, just asked some kids that were skating in the park. It was quite good and made my city trippin' quite enjoyable and vivid.
In Madrid I haven't found any bud, but I guess it was because I didn't actually look for it.
Spain is great country. Next time I go to Granda... Tapas and good hash. Niiiice :D :dance013:

Just a reminder folks, it is ILLEGAL to smoke publicly in Spain.

Yes, everybody does it, Judges, Cops, Mayors, Grannies, kids, the lot, but it is illegal and you may get nicked for it... Take care...

From my experience, very hospitable and nice people there. Pot is everywhere. I was hanging out once in a bar in a small metal bar in Sabadel where everyone seemed to know each other, quite a few people offered me a place to stay and at one point some guy walked in with a jar full of outdoor buds and started sharing them around :D

It's like every other place on the planet.. If you want top shelf you have to take to time to get to know people and if you want to reliably get top shelf you have to make your own. It is a good place to do it though, and Morocco is just a ferry ride away. You can get bottom shelf there too unless you get to know some people. That don't happen overnight, due to the illegal nature of our culture.

Someone told me that you can usually buy a few grams in a grow shop in Spain. Anyone have any experience with that?

I was in madrid and all i could get was crappy brittle moroccan hash. I smoked 20 euros worth at a time and I felt like I had been in a room where someone else had smoked. Simply no effect. Mind you, i was used to very high quality bud back stateside. I then went to the canaries (medano and tenerife) and was exposed to the same low quality brittle hash. I then went to Mr. Fantasy in tenerife and this very kind lady helped me out with information about how to get good stuff in the canaries and sure enough I got some premium grown lemony stuff that packed a punch. I second what many people on this thread have advised: go to a grow shop and hang around for a day or two, talk shop/strains, and subtly ask for info on how to get some good stuff. Most likely you will be helped out.

Peace

Has anyone got tried and true places in Tenerife to buy something sweet? I'm going there in few months and it would be nice to find sinsemilla somewhere out there :) Mostly in Playa de las Americas

Cheers!

In Spain the possession and use of cannabis in public places is classed as a misdemeanour under public health laws and is punishable by fines and confiscation. Trafficking is a criminal offense.
One can be denounced for doing so by neighbors or ill-wishers, and the burden is then effectively on the user or grower to prove that the material is for personal use only.
In recent years a number of members' associations have been established throughout the country in an attempt to extend the boundary of the Spanish citizen's constitutional rights. In an association cannabis is grown and shared among the members. The association may not promote or be seen to encourage the use of cannabis and it must be a closed group for existing adult consumers only, distributing only small amounts regularly to each member (typically 10 grams per week) so as to prevent the possibility of trafficking. As well as a membership fee, members must pay for what they consume and prices may not be much different than on the black market.
Where the associations have come under legal challenge they have been able to surmount this, and in at least one case have secured the return of several kilos of confiscated plants. The umbrella group for cannabis associations in Spain is the Federación de Asociaciones Cannábicas: http://www.fac.cc/ and Politic Group:RCN-NOK Representacion Cannabica de Navarra: http://www.rcnavarra.org/
