Hahahah I already see someone setting up a massive outdoor grow in central California and someone coming through and releasing pollen to fuck up the entire crop.....

Would it be as funny if they did the same to your indoor grow?
I think it is vandalism and should be a crime where the people that did it would have to pay damages to the crop growers, I know it would be millions of dollars in damages.

Jack, it’s funny how much of this comes down to personal interpretation. When you see this : “Provided however, that the existing right of an employer to address consumption that actually impairs job performance by an employee shall not be affected”, your spin on it is this: “That is Subjective and the employer can fire someone they don't think is producing so cannabis is still a reason to fire or not hire”. When I read it (based on 30+ years as a supervisor in an industrial setting), I see that for the first time there is a standard that must be used by the employer: “actually impairs job performance”. To me this says that the employer must actually show that there had been a degradation of job performance. It is no longer enough to simply have metabolites in your system from some usage in the past. I think that this is a massive step forward.

I agree. this is one of the strongest points of the prop. It is very clear that what you smoked a week ago or last night is no reason to fire somebody, and it puts the burden of proof on the employer. There is, by the way, a device that actually, or atleast more closely determines thc intoxication similar to a breathalizer. It uses a saliva sample and nanotechnology. It has been developed and tucked away. I assume they are waiting for November in Cali., but they told me it was more corporate posturing that was keeping it off market at this time. Phillips was working on it in the Netherlands with a company out of Mexico. I was in contact with them about it a few months ago but they were very tight lipped. This is the last info I got from them:

If someone is a medical user and needs to medicate on the job then that is a totally different issue and has nothing to do with this or any other prop about production and recreational use. For the recreational user, this is amazing wording and will change the way things are done. I doubt too many reasonable people think that being high at work is a good idea. A medical need is a little different, but that is not an issue for this bill.

As for home breeding, that is simply something that isn't addressed in the prop. Most would agree to breed effectively you need more than a 5x5 area but that is more of a commercial thing than a recreational use thing and will need to be addressed with further legislation. This prop was designed to be fair to the consumer who wants to grow his own but not give enough leeway for that personal production to turn into an illegal enterprise. The fact that this is written somewhat loosely from commercial aspects is good in that regard. A local government could, for instance, allow a breeding operation as a business model, or allow a larger commercial producer to subcontract breeding and cloning operations. If producers are going to put out a consistent seedless product they will need a shit pile of clones so maybe they subcontract that work out and this prop will allow for that type of business to be created. There are potentially hundreds of small business possibilities in and around cannabusiness. So many that it would be impossible, and unwise for them to all be laid out in this or any prop.

**edit*** Please don't everyone go slamming phillips looking for more info on this device I referenced. I just emailed my contact and will post whatever news I can accumulate. If they get a million emails about this nobody will get any info!

My Question is why are we trying to do this half way from the start?
Shouldn't we all focus on real freedom right now?
We can raise another 1.2 million dollars if 60,000 send in $20
We can actually do it right. Give the Citizen rights and protect people with Jobs.
We are still talking slavery here if working class is economically punished for consuming cannabis.
Prop 19 specifically allows for this.
----
Edit: 12,000 @ $100
It's not so hard to raise what Richard Lee spent.

Sure you and your buddies are going to rase the millions needed to do it right, what a joke...
You seem so contrary that I doubt it is possible.
Did you really support 215? It did not give full legalization by any means, why did you support it?

If I was a contractor in CA right now I would already have a business model set up to build 5X5 growrooms all code.

Anyone make a 5X5 tent? Better start!

"The pot DR" comes to your grow and helps with your sick plants...
"The dream team" helps people trim and burp, explain curing...
Start teaching classes on all the subjects from bean to harvest... Lots of jobs you just need to think outside the box Jack...

Somebody is thinking! Imagine a company that sends out VW buses called the "Pot Doctors". Simulate the "Geek squad" business model. That is money right there and would be honest and enjoyable work for anyone of hundreds of experienced growers. That's a million dollar idea! The premade grow boxes are too, custom built-in boxes, and closet conversions. Any one of hundreds of people on this forum could make a go at those types of businesses and no MJ related licenses would be needed!

That's thinkin' my man! Hell if I could afford start up costs on ideas like that I'd be all over it and scopin' out where to set up on the west coast.

I agree on the numbers point Jack. Lets face it hundreds if not thousands of our brothers and sisters are popping big numbers of beans regardless of the law. We at least have some measure of peace of mind if we stay within the plant count in our states...

If you want to start a small business, its best to have a business model. It states the product, your capital, projected income and things like that if your going for a loan to start up... And it's best to have the years cash also, lets them know your serious...

As I said before if you plan on bank rolling it all yourself, a years bills and projected costs should be in the bank, more really but a years a good start...

Sounds purdy expensive for applications below 65-100k incomes. Which if I remember correctly makes up over half the employed people in the U.S.A.

Would it be as funny if they did the same to your indoor grow?
I think it is vandalism and should be a crime where the people that did it would have to pay damages to the crop growers, I know it would be millions of dollars in damages.

exactly. and if prop19 passes some of the new laws created will be laws protecting those in the Canna-Business from stuff like this.

go ahead and release pollen on outdoor crops and see what happens. also, i doubt that any of the Commercial Indoor Grows will have ventilation thats easily accessible and i bet there are filters to block out unwanted stuff.

If I was a contractor in CA right now I would already have a business model set up to build 5X5 growrooms all code.

Anyone make a 5X5 tent? Better start!

I agree. There are many, many ways for Pro-Cannabis types to earn a living if this passes.

Not just growing or selling or operating a dispensary.

Many, many jobs will be created and many people will have livelihoods created from the passage of this prop.

now, there is a more complex answer than i can give to all of this but it seems straight retarded to think that people are actually all for this bill...i hear people saying, well atleast the price of weed will go down and no more 400 ounces, which just is not the case...how are they gonna raise profits and taxes by lowering the price, theyve already stated the want to sell it at 400per oz with a 50 dollar tax...and secondly, all the talk about 'oh the only ppl that would vote no on this are driven by greed' THIS WHOLE BILL is DRIVEN BY GREED!!!!PERIOD!

weed is already legal here, and we are not prosecuting anyone but organized criminals, no med patients actually catch a case that doesnt get dropped asap in court... and what we do is not gonna change the whole world the usa would never let it happen cause like gypsy pointed out they spent too long making the entire world conform to mj laws, and now you think they are gonna go back on all that? ha!

do you really honestly believe deep down that the united states government and dea are going to sit back while people try and set up huge federally illegal mega grows/criminal enterprises making millions of dollars annually(which can be punished by death under right circumstance, that these grows will fall under in a court room) and throw it all in their face?
it would send a really bad message of weakness about this country to the entire world that we are now a bunch of pushovers cause we are in hard economic times, desperation....

i know i for one dont want to be limited to a 5x5, you cant even crack a decent amount of beans for selection in that kind of space, i cant really say more about the tax cause i wouldnt ever pay it/buy weed cause i can grow it my self just like the other half of the population of cali. yea they can set up mega grows but compared to all the other growers out there collectively, they dont have nothin on us as far as market share goes. i just cant put hard earned money in the hands of the already rich in form of a marijuana tax, and thats what america used to be all about, freedom and not having to do shit you dont want to like pay bs taxes.

imo, this is a bad bill meant for the weak minded.

Thats why I only grow in enclosed controllled greenhouses or indoors. Ive already had outdoor crops get skeeted on from novice OD growers in the area. Thats why I only grow in completly controlled enviorments. No OD can ever compare to quality indoorg / greenhouse, there are just far too many contaminents in the air and elemental factors to ruin a crop....

You must be straight retarded if you have read this entire thread and can't see why people would be "actually all for this bill."

i hear people saying, well atleast the price of weed will go down and no more 400 ounces, which just is not the case
That's not what we're saying. Read the thread.

Examples? Rather than stating your case, why not back it up with something more than your speculation?

weed is already legal here,
Are you sure? Krunchbubble and Snype just got busted, had their cannabis and all their stuff (cars, keys, phones) siezed by the police. Both are MMJ. Krunch has a dispensary! Legal you say?

and we are not prosecuting anyone but organized criminals, no med patients actually catch a case that doesnt get dropped asap in court
Getting arrested now and then having the case dropped in court (after spending money to bail out and after spending thousands on a lawyer) is not exactly legal, is it? You must be a lawyer.

... and what we do is not gonna change the whole world the usa would never let it happen cause like gypsy pointed out they spent too long making the entire world conform to mj laws, and now you think they are gonna go back on all that?
Gypsy pointed out that he supports this bill because he feels it will be a victory for the entire world!

What are you smoking, homie?

i know i for one dont want to be limited to a 5x5,
You're presumably an MMJ patient. You won't be affected by the 5x5. (Except to have new protections because the VOTER APPROVED PROP19 BOLSTERS the MMJ laws.)

you cant even crack a decent amount of beans for selection in that kind of space
What container size are you using for your beans? I use 2.5" square pots (10" tall) and you could fit 576 of them in a 5x5. How many beans do you suppose you need to crack to find a decent plant?

i cant really say more about the tax cause i wouldnt ever pay it/buy weed cause i can grow it my self just like the other half of the population of cali.
So why bring it up?

yea they can set up mega grows but compared to all the other growers out there collectively, they dont have nothin on us as far as market share goes.
So vote yes and prove yourself right.

imo, this is a bad bill meant for the weak minded.

These no voters must be making a $hitload of ca$h if they must to spend all this time trying to defend LEO's most lucrative source of income.

This thread has put a very different face on some well known members here at IC.

I agree with Hydro on this point.

I'm using my one and only account which was created 18 months ago and I have posted hundreds of times in hundreds of threads.

Man up and stop using socks, people.

so mr. lee is either the evil criminal corporate fatcat genius you make him out to be
or
he has to be the dumbest motherfucker on the planet to think he would not be a high profile federal target.

it allows you to grow your own smoke in the privacy of your own home like an adult should!

do i think r lee is smart, and stupid? yes. because if the result of 19 is him and a few other connected smart people standing out like a sore thumb with their large acre grows and casino store front tourist traps: he will be 1- rich and 2- an easy target.

seems pretty easy to comprehend.

it is up to local counties to allow even if they want a non med store front. so is it a long stretch of the imagination to see san diego, who has repeatedely tried to repeal 215, allowing 200 marijuana store fronts in their districts>?

i see humboldt and mendo and the like allowing a shit load of store fronts and comm grow ops, as well as much more liberal possession and cultivation guidelines for non comm grows.

so is it a far stretch to imagine that if you lived in san diego, that its not easy or convenient to drive up to humboltd every time you needed to re up an ounce?

dont throw away your med card san diego.

i see the big winners in this as;

1 the people who live in pot friendly counties

2- seed companies and clone companies to supply the new non med grows (shhhhh- if you wanna make more money, lobby for more than 25 ft for your clientelle)

3- tourism to the pot friendly areas (i remember people in humboldt getting kinda pissed about the idea of ganja tours through their neighborhoods, quick put on your dreadlock beanie for the tour bus)

4- all the pot smokers in cali who want to legitimize their habbit and lifestyle with a legal tag attached.

5- in 5 years, big agribusiness who will step in after people like r lee have gone to prison and whos court cases laid out their business plan strategies.

If this is your only account and have a total of 20 posts all on this thread, you really have no place to comment on the flow or style of this community.

Anti has put his thoughts and contributions out to this community for a long time and stands behind his contributions. I too feel strongly about this community and will let my 2000+ posts and other contributions speak for themselves (not all of them good as I sometimes post drunk and stoned).

Speak about prop 19 all you want but I don't think too many worry about what you think of the "Face of well know members here at IC."

So, Hydrosin, I take it you don't like others to post their opinion? You sure post yours a lot. I have never singled out you or anyone else. But you sure have a problem with me when I post my opinion. You must feel as if I'm posting about you. I'm not - so I apologize if what I say makes you feel uncomfortable and exposed.

And some of you want me to take my socks off? Trust me, I'm too much of an environmentalist!

But, hey, you have the absolute right to say what you may in an attempt to sway 19 voters to support yourself and LEO's cash requirements.

Just don't try to muzzle those of us who desire freedom from the special interests and law enforcement officials.

Thank you for your cooperation!
