Hello fellow farmers, I wanted to jump into some type of hydro but which one? I am currently growing a SOG 200+ plants, vegged until 16", Went from cups to 1 gal bag to 2 gal bags and are currently in flower. I really want a little less work here and my goal is 10 BOWS every harvest. So I have a shit load of questions that i would love answered. <3 <3 <3 Thank YOU!

1. With 7400 watts, how much more light would i need to achieve my goal in this hydro system.

2. I can get alot of space if need be, what would be my rooms size - what would work best?

3. What kind of hydro should i run? I dont mind building shit either so if its somewhat simple and saves me a shit load of money please pass a link to the thread. But also i wouldnt mind buying a 24 or 48 bucket system in the box or any other system that would be worth it or save me a shit load of time.

4. My current ventilation systems consist of:
2x 8" inline fans w/ carbon filters
2x 6" inline fans
4x 4" inline fans
4x oscillating fans
1x big squirrel cage fan
1x small squirrel cage fan
My environment is not all there, from my first experience to my second i only achieved 5 degree cooler temps and im keeping the humidity where its suppose to be thats it. I also read its standard to have 3000 BTU of AC action to keep temps where they are suppose to be, -so what kind of ac unit would i need installed?
How many more fans would i need or the cfm in and out? I read 1-4 ratio works if timed right, 1 being the out through a filter and the 4 being the intake from outdoors. <<< -Is that right?

5. Fuck the power in numbers, I would love to have less plants and grow them bushy with a little training+time then throw into flower. -Would you recommend a co2 generator if it helps with speed and weight? - How long would i have to veg them on average to get them the size i need to achieve my goal? In square feet how much space should the plant take up?

6. I have 5x 1000 watters and 4x 600 watters - all digi - aircooled euro reflectors. I am willing to sell the 1000's to get rid of them maybe because it probaly wont be worth it for me (HEAT) - i dunno LMK. I will buy more 600's if thats the way to go - digital or old skool ballast? - For sure aircooled reflectors but which ones are best priced or most worth it because they work the best? I read 250 cfm of fan per 1000 watts is good for aircooled reflectors, is that right and would more power in the light cooling fans (cfm) get cooler temps and be worth it at the same time? Last one in the light department - Do light heat spreaders work and are they worth it?

7. Nutes - I currently have and use = Gh 3 part flor, Techno's Cal Mg, Fox Farm Beastie Bloomz + Open S + Cha Ching, An Piranha + Tarantula + SuperThrive + Molasses (I have samples of carboload + big bud + bud blood). I have been sitting down and writing shit loads of tips and tricks into notebooks so i wont forget them and so i can imbued that information in my brain. (i use to go to this site to just scan and look at all the sick fucking weed this place has to offer) This site has so much information that its making my fingers bleed from all the notes ive been writing down. So..... What nutes should i use? (based upon results + simplicity) Is there something out there that is a must have in any superstars nute line up? (if it gives more flavor, potency , or weight)

8. Genetics - I love marijuana. period. I dont drink at all. Fuck that hardcore shit. Tried shrooms a couple times but the last time i did em i was crying to the movie the comebacks lol. I am most passionate about marijuana not only as a drug to use but as a career. So naturally I think I am already addicted to buying seeds. I currently have Chuncky Cheese, DG Mix Pack, Lapis mountain indica, Dali, White Lighting, Chemdawg double d, Double strawberry diesel, White Satin, AK47, Alien Dawg, And SSSDHxG13. Most of which I never popped before. I only have 2 mothers in progress 1 alien dog + 1 Dg seed from the mix pack. Is there something in there that is made for a commercial grower? Because I seen a pic early last night of 2 buds and 1 was a huge cola the size of a bat and the other was a stem with 6-8 nugs on it, I want to have a commercial strain that is heavy in weigh as well as heavy hitter in smoke. Is there a strain i should look into on that or something i missed? People around here all love indica highs, but they have to taste good and smell funky. What should I go with?

Thats all i have to ask and say. Again this is the first time I ever asked for help over the net, because Ive always been to scared to share and ask for help over the net fearing that i would not get any good advice or help from anyone. Or get told that you just need to read some more. But that was back then and this is now. I will admit i am still young and have alot to learn. Ever since I met a couple growers and got+read a copy of the marijuana bible it felt like i had to learn everything with hands on training+learning. I look up to the farmers who have been out here for a minute doing this and spreading the info around for every1 else to put to use.

Thanks again every1 who has read this and can help me out a little bit and lead me in the right direction. I would love links that u guys think i should read or st8 answers which would awesome.

P.S. I will have pics of the past 2 grows i did in a month or so.

How much is that in English?

as far as yeild- an average of 1lbs per square meter per 600watt light is standard for most strains. larger lights, co2 and the right strain can improve upon this

types of hydro- imo the best would be deep water culture, or aeroponics.

as far as making it ez there are 2 ways.

spend a shit load on timers, nute and ph dosers and all the high tech stuff and you can have a near push button hydro system. just change the reservior every week or two

or go fully organic soil, in large containers and have a reservior of pure water maybe some mollasses on a timer and also have a near pushbutton operation. just top dress every week or two.

10 lbs per harvest is no small task, yet can be done.

if you spread 9 plants among a 4 foot by 4 foot area under a 1000Watt light you should get at least a pound. add co2 and you can get even more. mulitply that by ten and keep your temps under control and voila.

i recommend doing it legally or keep it small. just my two pennies,

peace

Thanks for that advice bro, I am thinking 10-12 600 watters should do it. I will be legit in about a month. <CANT WAIT FOR THAT

Plants vegged to 16" is not a SOG FYI.

You want simple? E&F tables is the easiest setup IMO and very reliable. DWC and aero are hardly easy and are not commercial friendly. So many things can go wrong, and with that much money on the line, it could be a huge blow

7400W and 10#? If you dont pull that by the second run, you need a new strain or give up growing. Seriously, you should easily hit 10#.

7600 needs roughly a 10x12 area plus working room. figure a couple feet walkway every 4-6 feet depending on setup.

You should consider air cooling the lights. That would help remove alot of the heat. Then you could run a mini split or wall unit

Thanks for that awesome info sundays child, I was wondering what kind of weight u were looking to get out of 7200 watts? Hydro or soil? Thanks again for that link! :thank you:

You're welcome, abuk but I just passed on good info given by others.

I haven't run 7200 watts yet. I have the place to do it but it's much bigger than I've run before so I'm going at it gently, reading what I can, getting my head around it all. The most I've done is 2 x 600 so the step up to 12 lights is a big one and I don't want to trip up.

dtfsux - thanks for stopping by, my 1st grow was 2200 watts and i ended up with just under 2.4 lbs but i had heat problems (91-100 degrees all day long), I underfeed like a motherfucker (used 1 quart of the 3 gh flora and koolbloom in a matter of 5 months on 70 x 1 gallons and still had some left over), i never checked my ph, and under-vegged and over-flowered. Last but not least I put one 8" inline for my aircooled reflectors which had 3 or 4 y's on it. I know i fucked up big time my 1st grow and i learned the hard way. This second one is going alot better though because i improved by keeping my ph 6.5 in sunshine with prelite added (testing run off), also got a ppm meter and currently feeding twice then watering every week with dry out time in between. I still have temp problems though (I thought central air was gonna do it..... Wrong again lol i know) its at 82-85 when lights are on and 72-73 when off.

-What nutes would u use in a e&f?
-What do u prefer overall 1k or a 600 lamp?
-Do you know any place that has the e&f tables for the low?
-Why not ebb and gro buckets because i wanted to work with less plants if possible?

Thanks again for coming through, o and i vegged them that big because i just wanted to make sure the weight comes this time.

you can accomplish the same thing in the tables and the tables are easier to set up. You did say simple. But if you really want to lower plant #'s then E&F buckets are the way to go.

I have done ALOT of E&F and always used GH 3 part, sometimes on the Lucas formula, sometimes a different formula. Other nutes probably work well too, I just never tried them.

I would veg them in a table in another room, then transplant to the buckets when the flower room opens up.

You need to get tables from your local store due to shipping costs. You can also build your own from plywood, 2x4's and pond liner.

I have used 600's and 1000's and prefer the 1000's but never did a side by side test. the 600's were in a different op.

Dont Forget NFT(Nutrient Film Tecnique), very simple indeed!
DWC is easy but RDWC is a little more complicated, especially with multiple lines of pots.
IWS are similar.
if you want ease of use for nutes, stay away from 3-part pro nute lines & go for something like Ionic if you can get it, very effective very simple to use. as are most one part lines!
if you run DWC or RDWC get a water chiller & not alot can go wrong really, thats the main issue, water temps & keeping them under control.
if i was you id run NFT, with Ionic for nutes & some OXY+ (H2O2), some PK & maybe a little S'Thrive in between! Simples! & very productive indeed!

dtfsux - that sounds like a plan with tables for veg and buckets to flower. Thanks bro

Scrogerman - Thanks for the advice, i know i can get some ionic and i will look into it.

Here are some dawgs from my 1st grow:

I veg in buckets and flower in buckets. I just built a bucket setup for the veg room so I can easily transplant from one system into the next. I use 3.5 gal buckets though. Hard to find a table that floods deep enough. With 2 gal buckets I might use a table.

I have never used buckets for vegging. I did keep about 25 moms in 5 gallon E&F buckets.

The reason I say veg in tables is when vegging, you do not need as much room as flower, especially if growing sativas. So you can pack them in on a table and consolidate light. IMO you can grow pretty good sized plants on a table. I also kept moms that were 3-5 feet tall on a table.

whatever works for you man, there is no wrong way. Well I guess there could be some wrong ways.... LOL But whatever gets the job done and keeps you happy, just different options.

Hey fellas, ive been busy as fuck lately. I am thinking about a DIY E&F:
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=107912
I have roughly 100-120 of those plastic heavy duty fence posts and thinking about picking up a 12 ebb&grow system just to see how they work. I will start building all this in about a month. Thanks for all the advice and ideas so far. :jump:
