A complaint was made regarding the thread. It seems Krunch bubble wasn't offering employment but was looking for investors and people to either give him money or product....
Im sure you all have seen this, but im going to post it anyways
This Bill is Majorly flawed!
Peron, co-author of Proposition 215, cites three "fatal flaws" in the Oaksterdamn U initiative . These can be described as limits, taxes, and penalties regarding minors.
Regarding the limits of one ounce and 25 square feet for personal cultivation:
"Imagine a law to “tax and regulate” alcohol that only allows for possession of up to one bottle of wine imprisoning those who exceed that amount, be it two bottles or a small collection of choice vintages. These limits guarantee confusion, harassment and black marketeering forevermore. We don’t control alcohol by imposing a 25 sq. foot limit on grape vines. But one extra gram or sq. foot of pot means jail and even worse; this initiative specifies that if accused of having too much cannabis the burden of proof is on you, not the state."
Regarding taxes:
"Singling out those who want to use marijuana for a huge excise tax is just plain unfair. It maintains cannabis as the most expensive, blatantly overpriced product on the market thus forcing most people to choose cheaper, more dangerous drugs with huge externalized costs to society as a whole."
Regarding minors:
"Sending teenagers to state prison for three years for pot is evil. This initiative mandates that 18, 19, and twenty year old minors serve three to seven year terms in California state prison for the crime of passing each other a joint or selling one another a small amount. Under this law if a 21 year old person passes a joint to a 20 year old he or she goes to county jail for six months. Likewise this measure has no exceptions for parents in their own homes from the “smoking cannabis in any space while minors are present” prohibition. We don’t lock up parents for having a glass of wine with dinner and we certainly don’t tell the kids to leave the house for the purpose of consuming any other substance so why start with cannabis?"
Peron vows that if the proponents "buy" enough signatures to get the initiative on the ballot he will campaign against it:
"This initiative is bad for parents, students and, ultimately, the effort to get the state to stop ruining lives enforcing these draconian pot laws. Initiatives create permanent statutes. This one with its petty restrictions for personal users, prohibitive unfair taxes, and mandatory state prison sentences for teen agers need be nipped in the bud. We will campaign and vote against it should its proponents succeed in purchasing the necessary number of signatures to put it on the 2010 ballot. The tax revenue it will supposedly generate is a mere smokescreen for the kids it will regulate into three, five and seven year state prison sentences."
VOTE NO!

Why is that not surprising???

Ok. A lot of people have been talking about 5x5. The proposed law would allow 25sq ft. Not 5x5.
So... above you can see many possible configurations that are all 25 sq feet.
Below you will see a cabinet I am currently designing to replace my current micro cabinet. The cabinet below is only 1.5 ft x 3.5 ft. (5.25 sq ft)
I am currently growing my plants in containers that are 2.5 inch by 2.5 inch by about 8 inch tall. The squares in the second picture represent one container each. I can fit 82 in this 3.5x1.5 cab. If I stretched it out to 25 sq ft (for instance 1.5x16.66) I could fit 390 plants in containers that size. My worst harvests in these containers were about 4.1g per plant. So 390 x 4.1 = 1599g or 3.52 pounds every 2 months or more than that if you run perp and get a bit more from each plant.
(The yellow circles represent 50w remote ballasted PLL bulbs and then larger circles represent a 6" circle around each bulb. 50w PLLs are rated at 4000 lumens at 1ft from bulb, so at 6" from bulb, each PLL should be putting off about 16,000 lumens, stretching 22 inches from the top of the cab to the soil line, allowing for 22" tall plants that will produce nice, dense herb-sticks. I'm getting the 4.1g with CFL only, much less light penetration. Probably could double it with the PLL replacement.)
This is only one potential setup (and likely not the best possible setup) but I think we can all agree that anyone who needs to smoke more than 3.52 pounds every 2 months (not talking about selling, just talking about personal) might have a bit of a problem. (That's about 26 grams PER DAY if the months each have 31 days in them.)
I've got a med card so I don't really care about the 25 sq ft restrictions, until they start fucking with the med scene, and it will happen. Then I'll be super pissed. I won't even be able to supply myself then let alone anyone else.
What are you talking about? Fear...oh yeah. Fear is a good tick
Medical Cannabis Patients
Q: Does Proposition 19 change medical cannabis laws in California?
A: No, it won’t change or affect current medical cannabis laws or protections offered to qualified patients. Patients will still be able to possess what is needed for medical use, and will retain all rights under Prop 215 and SB 420. In fact, Proposition 19 will clarify state law, to protect medical cannabis collectives and businesses operating responsibly under their local guidelines. Currently, the legality of medical cannabis sales is in dispute. Many cities and counties are struggling with the interpretation of SB 420, particularly around the allowance for cash transactions. As a result, these localities are unable to control and tax medical cannabis for distribution to qualified patients. Proposition 19 specifically grants cities and counties the ability to regulate sales for medical cannabis and commercial cultivation for safe, regulated medicine. Proposition 19 will also allow for research, safety testing, and potency monitoring.
Q: How will Proposition 19 affect patients who grow at home?
A: Patient gardens will remain legal, and protections will remain unchanged for patients who choose to grow their own medicine.
Q: How will Proposition 19 affect collective and cooperative cultivation?
A: Proposition 19 will allow for greater protection for collectives and cooperatives in storefront locations. City and county governments will now have the clearly established ability to regulate collective and/or commercial growing.
Q: If Proposition 19 passes, will non-medical patients have more rights than
patients?
A: No, adults 21 and over will be able to possess up to one ounce of cannabis outside of the home. Adults may only grow in a 5’x5’ area, and will have an affirmative defense to possess what they grow for personal use in that area. Patients and/or collectives will still be able to possess the amount needed for their medical use.
Q: If Proposition 19 passes, will it still be beneficial to be a medical cannabis patient?
A: Yes, medical patients will receive the greatest protections. Qualified patients will be allowed to possess and grow more than adults (to cover their medical needs). We also hope to see exemptions or discounts on services, and taxes to subsidize the cost to patients needing medical cannabis.
Q: Will Proposition 19 make it more difficult to become a medical patient?
A: No, being a medical cannabis patient will still remain private between you and your doctor.
Q: Could Proposition 19 affect medical cannabis growers?
A: Yes, by providing legal permits to gardens, Proposition 19 will also make possible the first legal commercial growing, once cannabis cultivation is regulated and permitted by either local governments or the state.
Q: Will Proposition 19 attract big business and cut out the little guys, and the cottage industry they have worked so hard to create?
A: Proposition 19 will actually give local groups an equal opportunity to obtain licenses and/or permits for the sale and cultivation of medical cannabis, adult cannabis, and hemp. Local groups can work with local governments to help determine regulations and licensing for cultivation and sales. Proposition 19 is also significant in that it allows for personal cultivation by adults.
