Moving to Denver from Texas

Never been to Austin, but I've heard good things about it, including a cannabis festival and of course SXSW, which my good friends ¡MayDay! just played at earlier this year! Boulder IS a very crunchy granola kind of town, but there is some rich stuck up snobbiness to it also. That said, college town, strong research and intellectual center, lots of natural food stores, books stores, great coffee shops, lattés, farmer's market, drunk college chicks walking around at night, low crime-rate, more dispensaries than bus stops, generally liberal attitudes and some pretty eccentric and interesting people. Boulder is also a homerule, so they like to not take shit from the outside. Boulder cops are actually some of the coolest cops of anywhere I've ever been (knock on wood), and seem way more chill then DPD, or even rural mountain cops.

Funny, j-fly is a Boulder-hater, he seems to only comment on these threads to trash Boulder....its all good, I would hate the plains too if I lived in the mountains and was a full blown powder junkie! Shit I hate the plains as it is, I prefer the mountains, just stuck working in the "bowl" of Boulder right now. I'll be up there this season hitting some slopes with ya hopefully, bro! Wish I had time, money, and energy to be a powder junkie.

Im just a hater in general. Trying to become more postive. I have a bad habit of venting online. I actually love the music scene in boulder. Tons of good shows and record stores, hella good dj's too. Mountains are boring as hell in the summer, at least its not hot though, i hate the fucking summer heat. I love talking shit about the flatlanders, makes us mountain folk feel special. Gotta justify the high cost of living somehow. I love all of Colorado, except Aurora. Cant wait for winter.

hahahaha did you say "MAKE MONEY" wow kind of a big turn around there after the shit you were giving all of us who have to make money and do have the golden ganja tree like you and support ourselves off of, giving shit away all the time stop working for ya......hhmmmm. Nice back peddle.

Just because you haven't figured out how to help your patients and make money too doesn't mean I haven't.

I have a feeling you are one of those people that never succeed at anything.

why is it so much stricter in Adams county than any other surrounding ones?

That is a question for the City Councils of the Cities in Adams County, or the County Board of Directors for the Unincorporated Areas......... Jefferson County BANNED all Dispensaries last week, so if you were thinking about opening one you got screwed. It's not just Adams County.

Colorado doesnt even start untill you get west of the divide. Denver and boulder are just like any other suburban city in America. Mountains are where its at. 9 months of winter, and 150 days of snowboarding. NOW thats CO!

To bad most people will never really make it up there. Its a huge tourist trap with over priced properties, steep rent, low pay rates, and an outrageous cost of living... Well at least the chicks are manly??????

Haha.. jib on that J

Looks like I'll be headed over to Denver to look for a job, hopefully I'll find something and it'll make the final move a little easier.

So, what's wrong with Aurora?

Most people are weak bitches, and settle for the ordinary. You gotta be a real mountain man to make it up here. The cost of living is high, but the standard of living is through the rough, id pay double if i had too. I guess if your addicted to powder, it worth it.

Cost of living high in Colorado? Ha! Thats laughable...okay, maybe if you are in a ritzy ski town like Aspen or Breck, but overall I have found Colorado to be pretty affordable in general...then again, the two cities I lived in before I got here were Miami and San Francisco, so my idea of low cost of living is a bit skewed....

I will say rent in Boulder is stupidly high for what you get, but thats cause its Boulder and they have a building moratorium. If I had it my way, I'd be somewhere on the western slope, where the mountains meet the desert...but stay outta UTAH!

Lived in MI and CO.

CO is more drastic, and the coldsnaps can be more brutal but are generally shorter than the long-haul MI winter snaps. :)

Well first off, I sure don't want to "get checked?"(is that gansta?) Second off, I write, not right. (Guess spell check didn't catch that one)
And last, can you truly say that you want more people, let alone from Texas, moving to Denver to grow? Couple years late for the green rush don't you think? New laws in place for this very reason. As a high country grower who has been up here doing it for years, promoting people to move here to grow just hurts everyone who is already and has been established. All this is mute as long as they stay in Denver, just don't come up to the high county. We have enough issues with Texans up here. Here is an example of what we deal with and where our "love" of texans come from....http://www.summitdaily.com/article/20091104/LETTER/911039995&parentprofile=search

if you have "been up here doing it for years" you should already be established and know what you are doing. If so, you should have your numbers dialed in and producing quality. Sounds to me that you are coming off as a bit insecure about your growing ability and are scared of some competition. If not, explain what you mean by "people to move here to grow just hurts everyone who is already and has been established." I would think that a conglomeration of growers would only benefit the community like this very website does. We learn from each other by working together. Also, growers relocating to Colorado gives it the opportunity to be the next Mecca of genetics.

One love brother. I'm just trying to understand your POV. Perhaps you had a bad experience with Texans? I followed your link and as far as I'm concerned F*** that conservative hypocrite lady. She probably gets wasted on xanex and liquor anyways as she points the finger at us smokers from her false perch of piety.

Do not take my statements as a question of your growing ability or hating on you as a person. I'm simply trying to understand your rational. Like I said, we learn more from each other together then we could possibly learn alone.

P.S. I would have PM'd you this message as oppose to putting it out in the public eye like so, but you don't have enough post for me to do that.

What do you care who moves here as long as they can grow. Who are you to dictate who should be medical and who should not??
You obviously have personal issues with this subject...The medical scene was not built by you for you, rather its meant as a benefit for ALL.

Does the new law in Colorado that makes it legal to grow a few plants for yourself only apply to growing in a greenhouse or can you legally grow outside?
