There`s a lot of info on the threads concerning deer , https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=54724

most animal repellants have 88% Aluminium Ammonium Sulphate , i was thinking of some pellets as i have had deer every year chomp into my plants (Muntjac) small Chinese deer about the size of a medium size dog . This year i`m using Stale urine & Irish Spring soap , the soaps in little net bags or tied in stocking/tights small bags & rather than placing them at ground level i tie the bags with some soft wire onto some canes about 300mm from the ground at deer nose height . So far it`s been 100% effective .

You are having perfect weather , rockets getting gale force storms & just a few hundred mile south were hotter than half the resorts in spain !!!!! , I think the last time it rained properly here was at least a month ago .

Stay green .

yeah man fuck the deer and what ever else is chomping peoples plants, first thing i saw at the spot 1 was a broken dead plant stalk. i haven't been there for about 10 days, in that time it grew out of the cage and was attacked and killed. this plant hole is doomed. this is the same spot the plant got eaten before. made me glad i made the cages bigger for the other 2 girls in spot 1

We've had no sun particularly in west wales, it's been warm and fairly humid and grey days with showers for the last week. No gales or torrential downpours though. It was sunny today but we could do with some of that 30 degree stuff now. I think my plants will be fine however.

we have had really good weather here, it's been really hot with summer storms at least once a week. i just wish i'd planted the plants in spot 1 at spot 2, there is so much better light coverage there. despite the hot weather the plants in spot 1 that are still alive are not bushing up or getting those big fan leaves of healthy plants. still it's been a great way to learn...:)

yeah was pissed at myself for not making a proper cage for that girl in time, still if i could chose one to die i guess it would have been her as the stem was really thin in the places she got attacked before.

dude i imagine the spider mites can look red outdoors in the sun, you better google some mite close ups and see if it's what you saw. i hope it's not the borg, normally if you don't have too many plants in one place, the borg will be kept in check by the natural predators.

ok time for the pics from spot 2

this is the first plant i planted in spot 2...

and next up the last plant to be planted in spot 2:

my new favorite lady, she's the last one i planted in spot 2 and she seems to have the best sun as she has overtaken all the others, she also has those nice big fan leaves. seeing how well she is doing i decided to add a few of my left over plants near by.

so as you can see i dug up the soil about 10 inches down and mixed my coco mix with all the goodies i have mixed in. it will be most interesting to see how the plants do in this mixture of forest soil, coco, chalk, bio npk powder, earth regeneration pellets and a bit of those oats looking flakes and some vinasse (what ever the hell that is lol.

btw, does anyone know what that stuff that looks a bit like it has oats in it is for?

man oh man what a day, on my way up to spot 2 i was nearly at the spot and just had to cross a section of dense bushes and tall grass, so i squat down and get my long sleeved shirt out, damn ticks, when all of a sudden my rucksack slips off my lap and starts tumbling down the slope lol, it made it's way nearly back down to the path, man what a bummer, i was already breathing heavy and paranoid about getting seen on the way up. so i climbed the slope of spot 2 twice today. still once there i was happy to see both my girls doing well, so i gave them all some npk powder and some chalk as topdressing, also surrounded them with a new sprinkling of snail pellets.

i was really happy to see this has happned with the last plant i planted....

picture.php

so i had to make some kind of cage, even though this plant has outgrown it's cage by over a foot, she wasn't touched by deer, it seems she is in a hard to get at area. so i decided i would add a wire at 1 foot high and at 1 meter high, i was able to make a nice enclosure with the wire i still had on my latest roll, (3rd roll of wire used) using 4 small birch trees that were conveniently growing in a approximate rectangle.

i really hope this plant is left alone as she looks beautifully healthy and vigorous. well i think that's all i have to tell, it will be very interesting to see how my latest soil experiment will work.

peace out for now

They not the borg (red spider mite). They're mutch too big and fast to be spider mites. I saw one on one of my plants tonight. They're just little red spiders but i just did a google for pics and info but couldn't find anything. Spiders are generally good things to have about cause they eat bugs not plants.

starting to put on some size :)

yeah they are getting tall, just not bushy at all yet.

yeah i don't mind normal spiders, they are natural pest predators.

spider mites are really small, when you see them under a scope you can see they have a spider like look to them, can be black or red. they are not that fast and live on the under side of the leaves to begin with after a while they cover everything in nets and suffocate the buds while mass drilling the leaves for plant juices.

i hope to check up on spot 3 today, wonder if they have grown or been found by some hippy frisbee golfer, lol.

yeah some of them might even become a decent size in the end, i just hope they begin bushing out a bit. i think it's a bit late to top them now.

Nice GM, sorry man but I had to laugh about the bag escapade! I know the 'just my friggin luck' feeling :D At least the plants are growing nicely, even if they don't bush out they will make some fook off single cola's under the big HPS, no? I see you have found the best spot in #2. Plants seem to be loving the sun there, and also looking healthy.

Nice work bro :)

yeah man it was like oh no, oh shit oh shit, please don't roll all the way down, shit shit shit, hoping it would get snagged some where on the way, but no the damn thing rolled right down, it was the coco coir and 2 water bottles that made it easy for gravity to do the rest once it slipped from my lap and out of my grasp.

i imagine they will bush out at least a bit at some point, but in the end this is a learning process, next year i'll start way early and try for some real monster plants, this year is turning into a crash course in guerrilla growing, hopefully teaching me enough to do it properly next year.

area 2 has the potential to hide 10 or even 15 plants easily giving them a wide area each, but i'd have to cut down a lot of the chest high fern type plants that are in the sunny bit. think i will cut myself a path in and then open up a space in the middle, that way i will only have to seal the path i made in to stop any dear.

if nothing else i can make a bunch of hash with it and you never know i might get some tasty phenos.

welcome to the show, as you can see things are going forward slowly but surely....

speaking of weather, it's amazing, as i'm sitting here tonight it's been raining again, just like it did last night, and the day time the sun shines and it's hot, over 30° and moist. theoretically plants should be loving it and i'm sure if they get enough direct sun they all would, as can be clearly seen in area 2. would be cool if we have a dry autumn instead of a dry summer. we will see...saving me a lot of water carrying that's for sure.

chest high fern type plants

Like this? (the stuff in the background):
Frisian_Dews_14th_July_10.jpg

... it's bracken and you can pull it out of the ground very easily and clear a large patch in no time (wear gloves ... i always wear waterproof drain type workmans gloves). Hides your dope plants well to and doesn't die off until late Oct and Nov. Also if you part it carefully as you walk through it you can leave no obvious trail. Pic was taken yesterday, my frisians havn't grown mutch vertically in the last week due to topping last time but they're filling out some.
There's a little oak tree sapling to the left of photo ... hope it doesn't get a bad case of powdery mildew, ... like they do sometimes.

yeah that's the stuff, the whole valley im in above the point where my plant is, is covered in that stuff, is that the same bracken that can be used to make flowering teas?

your fd is nice and bushy, i think i'm too late to top the ones i haven't already now no? i don't want to limit cola size by topping too late in veg.

The ideal guerilla leaves no trails as all paths lead somewhere .

GM what you want to do is attach a rope to rucksack then invest in some Ice climbing boots to get up your slope . L O L .

Stay green .

I have a question. What again (if mentioned) are the hours of total sunlight per day? Is it like 16-17? I was just curious, I know imoe when I topp in veg or beginning flower I still get mass colas, smaller ones, but alot more of them everywhere. Then again I am indoor. But if you have this many hrs of daylight you could still top, no? Not in full blown flower yet? :tiphat:
