Entire neighborhood raided... Think you're safe?

Police took over a central Kentucky neighborhood Thursday afternoon, in a major raid that included federal agents.

People were seen being led away in handcuffs, and police went door-to-door checking i.d.'s. They also stopped traffic and blocked streets.

news video
Agents and police were armed with assault rifles. Blocked off the streets, searched cars, houses and buildings, went door to door, demanded to see peoples ID's, and did not tell them what was going on for 12 hours. At midnight tonight it was finally revealed that it was a drug raid, although it was presumed so by residents. Regardless of what kind of raid it is, I feel the force was excessive for such a small town, and that the actions that the Federalies took was imo a training for the police state. Apparantly it was one of the largest raids in Kentucky.

Most are saying it was over crack/pills, and that they were glad it happened. Would you be glad about having your place searched just because you happen to live in an area that's scary at night?

God Bless America!

Genuinely, this is the stuff that Idi Amin used to do,
and Good Old Uncle Sam wanted to kick his ass!

What a shame Ol' Sam's knee's are not double-jointed...

Do Americans have rights?
Land of the free? codswallop!

I thought there would be some freelance American bounty hunters (like the A-team), who would deal with the corrupt guys making these awful decisions in THEIR country to THEIR OWN people.

America, Land of prison...

WTF?
What do you do in a situation like that?
If you innocent?
Call your attorney and tell them what's happening, and then grab your camera and start documenting things for your up coming lawsuit against the state I guess.

I dunno... They shut down the neighborhood streets for the afternoon while they raided 1 specific grocery store that was apparently involved in crack distribution.

Went door to door checking IDs - that doesn't sound like an entire neighborhood was "raided" to me or anything close.

Door-to-door salesmen can do the same thing. How is it a "raid" when the police do it?

This wasn't over some weed grow either... Apparently residents can't drive through this area without being offered crack.

IMO, this is getting heated about BS when people's rights are actually being violated all over the place.

I didn't read about anyone getting tazed for no reason, nobody got a plunger up the ass, and so on and so forth. Lets save the indignation for something other than what appears to be a well organized police operation to crack down on a really fucked up neighborhood.

This is rediculous.. I don't understand how they can do this w/o warrants to everyones houses. If someone denied them access (I doubt anyone did) do you think they would still have entered?

Where does it say they entered anybodies house without a warrant?

Read again, watch the video again, and you will see this is being blown out of proportion.

Mr B,
Door-to-door salesmen don't go checking ID's - Police can isolate a troubled area without shutting down several streets/neighborhood however bad it is - whatever happened to softly, softly instead of heavy weaponry?

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK! (Take the window out, why don't you?)

"Can I confirm who you are, Sir?"

"Eh? Who are you?"

"Err, Sir, I'm from the Leccy Company"

"No, you fucking can't - if you don't get your pompous ass off my door,
I'll remove you forcibly for trespass - 3 seconds ...3..2.."

...gone...staring back at me with his eyes as wide as dinner plates

and that is God's Honest Truth - I never bullsh!t.
