Had a great weekend at the Summer Arts Fair. Got to hang with Mr Tom Hill which was a total pleasure. The guy is quite the character and seamed to be really enjoying himself. :smoke: Very funny guy. He picked my brain about the Twister. I think there are a half dozen of them in his future.:)
Lots of cool sites and some amazing music. Heavy Weight Dub Champion put on an amazing show and Melvin Seals brought out all the old Dead Heads. The highlight for me and one of my new favorite bands was Lukas Nelson and The Promise Of the Real. Willie Nelsons son. They tore it up and stole the show.

Here are some pics from the farms today. It was really hot and sunny. I got a pretty good sun burn working on the drip system today but it was fun.
The plants are officially taller then Capt Nefarious. He is not the tallest guy but they are still getting big. Here he is fighting one of the monsters back with a hammer.:)

The double rooting thing was an accident in my garden. It's like I planted a 6" clone in the same pot as a 4' plant...not that cool. Wish I could have made it but I am still sick!

We missed you bro. Hope you feel better soon. You should come out for Reggae on the River. June 17th and 18th I think. They have a really good line up.

They can't be the same weekend can they? That would be lame on the Mateel's side.

My uncle says used to do the bend over and root deal for his new plants back in the day, I guess it was called the "bent branch method" (how creative). when the shoot roots in a separate pot, snip it off and theres your ez clone. I dunno how the timing on that would work, but the science is there. very similar to air layering.

Ganja D is shopping for some more seeds and asked me what I was interested in. I took a good look and there were a few that peaked my interest. Something that has bothered me for a while is the lack of pics of these strains. How can these "companies" not come up with one pic of a growing plant. Aren't you doing test grows before you release these seeds? How can these guys charge so much without showing any results? Are we supposed to just trust their reputations? If we were to do that not many seeds would be bought. Seams like many have had bad batches, low germ rates, fems that hermi, autos that don't auto, strains that have ten different phenos etc etc. Many when issues arise say it was one of their breeders that they hired out to do some of their breeding that made the bad batch. There are a few with good pics and good descriptions. They probably are doing a much more professional and responsible job with their breeding. Not saying all are bad but if this is going to be your profession please put a little more effort into it. It would be nice if there were a little more transparency with these companies. I know many are still very underground but show us a pic of your rooms, your facilities, tell us your practices. DG has shown us pics of her rooms and described many of her techniques and I applaud that. She is setting a good example of how these breeders should be interacting with their customers and she is showing why she was worthy of Breeder Of The Year at the IC Cup. So how bout it breeders? What do you have to hide? I know it is a tricky business and there is pretty much no recourse for a bummed out customer unless the breeder takes note of their complaints on one of these sites. That is why breeders should have more transparency. I believe the ones that do will be the ones that thrive in the future. This is a business after all and there are a lot of seed(y) companies getting into it. More and more everyday. You don't have to have big bucks like GH to thrive in this biz but show us why we should be trusting whole crops to your seeds. That failed crop might mean no food on the table for a family or a medical patient goes without the medicine he needs. You have a huge responsibility to your customers and please don't take it lightly.

Interesting take HL. I did do some seed shopping at the boo/bay,went a bit over board as usual. Got two packs of a classic from Shantibaba and some Dr.Atomic I've been eying, and more. It would be nice if breeders took more time to describe and document their work. Lack of info prevents me from buying seeds all the time. I could write a few detailed pages to describe any strain I've ever grow. I know Dr.Atomic has worked his NL since the 80's and have read great articles in mags about his story and work.
Having a legendary NL and SSH to play around with your strains should be fun.

Anyway, things are going well here at the farm. Lots of work to do and lots getting done. I am officially tired. Doesn't happen often.
I talked about the importance of plant structure and strength/health about 10 pages ago.
